And God only knows how much we 15th (or whatever😂) great grandaughters and great grandsons of Herrn Organist- Vater-Bach over here in US-Amerika needed this IV (Eye Vee)! Why? (?!) This. A large SRO audience followed him. It must have been only by word of mouth that the crowds knew where to go next. What a blessing for a snowbound day in Milwaukee. Marvelous what our technology can bring from great organists playing great music so far way. Thank you.
Mr Doeselaar does not play music, HE IS MUSIC IN HEART AND SOUL. By far the best organ playing I have witnessed and heard. There are great organists and then you get Mr Doeselaar who takes it completely to another level. Well done Sir. What an honor to have listened to you.
Surely the pre-eminent living Dutch organist. Perfection in every way. Thank you for this masterclass in registration, articulation, interpretation and professionalism.
Straordinario.
No words! Majestic comes to mind! I know for a fact that Bach enjoyed very long walks. This keeps me in deep admiration of this incredible genius and I can only imagine what fantastic compositions were going through his mind during this communion with nature while on a simple walk.
I simply adore his energy while playing. Many souls on this side of the pond roll their eyes at the "movers and shakers". When he performs with the spectacular Netherlands Bach Society, I enjoy those close up shots of him.
He has an ENORMOUS personality and can brighten up even my darkest day!! Love how he moves about, sings along and just has this unalloyed love for what he does!

Spectacular playing by van Doeselaar who has the ideal touch for such linear music. Very very satisfying. And what superb audio engineering, a sonic treat of the highest order--Thank you, Koen van Andel and the team!
Unparalleled performance of majestic music I sincerely recommend other performances of this Master like Prelude and fugue in E-flat major BWV 552
Muzikaliteit, techniek en passie gaan hier hand in hand. CPI Bach, geweldig gespeeld.
Prachtig concert en opname! 00:14 1. Dieterich Buxtehude - Toccata in d, BuxWV 155 08:34 2. Jan Adamsz. Reincken - Fuga in g 13:54 3. Why do commenters suppose the organist is only playing the music of Bach?? And WHY does the man never use his heels on the pedals?? This is the third organist I’ve seen in the past few days who dances around on his toes….is this the European norm?? He plays beautifully, but I, for one, wouldn’t miss the P-in-P feature!
I am very impressed, and I'm a very fussy guy. There's stops on the right, on the left, and behind him. Never seen that before. Is this a Tracker? This guy knocks it out of the park!
Wonderful music and wonderful playing. The audio quality is unfortunately not exceptional, even with good headphones or maybe because of them you kind of get tired of the unclear sound. Why don't you open a Spotify account or something similar and share the audio files in a better quality? Leo van Doeselaar and your wonderful organ deserve much better than the compressed TH-cam quality :D
okay, J.S.Bach + 40s-50+s performer is about to amaze everyone then..., just because: i assume a performer needs to live almost half of Bach's years to get it to the point, which is not easy as it seems. only few plays what we want (and i hope Bach wanted also) to hear - and this is the man! :) bravo!!! ...basically, it's half the notes, half the performer energy ;)
I think he is just having an argument with the composers and the organ. Lol. You will see many organists (and other musicians) do this, I actually think it is an involuntary act of the body as it surrenders to the creation and expression of music- the brain is aware of what it needs the hands and feet to do that it sort of ignores what the rest of the body is doing.
Doeselaar is not playing Bach, he's applying it intravenously to his audience. Great. Thanks!

Leo is a wonderful interpreter of the Bach style of playing his music on the organ.
Was für ein Meister an der Orgel!!!
It's great, how the recording picks up the cathedral's ambiance and sound duration. Wonderful, thank you!
Woderful organ playing & music.

Greetings from Canada!' This playing is Bach incarnate, superb in every way! Thank you!!
I simply adore his energy while playing. Many souls on this side of the pond roll their eyes at the "movers and shakers". When he performs with the spectacular Netherlands Bach Society, I enjoy those close up shots of him.
This is a perfect combination of the instrument and performance style.
Everything full of energy and clarity!
Playing a tracker organ demands physical effort from the player. Electric action. is far less tiring.
Leo van Doeselaar is amazing to watch and listen to, the best part... manually turning his sheet music!!!!!!!
He has an ENORMOUS personality and can brighten up even my darkest day!! Love how he moves about, sings along and just has this unalloyed love for what he does!
Geweldig muzikaal gespeeld!

ABSOLUTELY FANTASTIC, (BY A BUXTEHUDE FANATIC), loved it.
Wunderbare Performance, präzise und transparent gespielt. Vom Meister der Meisterklasse❤

Wonderful and spectacular. And smart choice of chronological pieces.

Bravo .
If you cannot live in the Old World, this is the next best thing.

It is a pity that there is no timekeeping of The Works...
Thanks! +1

I love listening to van Doeslaar but who is he talking or arguing with as he plays?
I think he is just having an argument with the composers and the organ. Lol. You will see many organists (and other musicians) do this, I actually think it is an involuntary act of the body as it surrenders to the creation and expression of music- the brain is aware of what it needs the hands and feet to do that it sort of ignores what the rest of the body is doing.
Without Buxtehude a different Bach?
dat denk ik zeker
Leo is so lost in the music that he is oblivious to the claustrophobic environment around him.
Is that second piece Fuga work of Buttstedt and not of Reinken?
Buxtehude's Toccata sounds here a bit 'churchorganist-like' (instead of flamboyant, free as a bird, pointed, 'narratively') Pity!
you sound a bit 'wrong'
@@notzack wunderbar,danke
Maybe because Buxtehude really was a church organist and so it makes sense not to play the piece like a Händel Concerto.
Bravoooooooooooooo🎉
Prachtig spel en dito orgel.
