About the series:
This is a series of videos about our summer vacation in a 2024 Ural motorcycle with a sidecar. We traveled from Redmond, Oregon to Plain, Washington for the Touratech Adventure Motorcycle Rally. We explored scenic back roads, motored along coastal highways and bounced down rugged, unpaved mountain roads - camping and cooking our own food and sometimes staying in nice hotels.
About the Bike:
The Ural Gear-Up motorcycle was provided by Overland Expo and is the official "Ultimate Build" motorcycle for 2024. The bike will be auctioned off for charity later this year. Learn more about this motorcycle project and the auction here:

This is awesome. You guys absolutely rock. Having just lost my wife of 45 years I will say this; Squeeze every ounce of joy out of life together that you can. Thanks for the ride.
Oh man Paul. Condolences. And you are so right. Thanks for that message and I hope things get easier for you and that your 45 years of memories bring you happiness and peace.
@@salpairadice Thank you.
Great video! I met you again at TouraTech, and enjoy watching the two of you enjoying life. Ride safe. I am looking forward to the next video!
love this! I hate that I get behind a bit, but I know I get to watch 4-8 videos back to back. thats great!!!!
How is your hand healing? Really miss your old GS adventures, you took us along and showed us your beautiful home state. It seemed real, unpolished. Loved it. Not connecting with these projects of late.
The joy on your faces as you set out was magical.
I owned a 2016 Ural Gear Up for several years while living in Eastern WA. The UDF is a real thing. It is a great bike for those who like (need) to tinker with mechanical things and a hoot to drive. Route planning is key, so small town life, 45 mph roads and especially off the beaten track gravel roads are the sweet spot for this vehicle. Sidenote: In WA, the 3-wheel license endorsement training was a 2 full day class! They even teach how to fly the chair, which you really need to experience is a safe place to get comfortable.
Honestly with all the stuff they traveled with what is the top speed you can do ? No highways I guess....
What a great start to such a cool adventure!! Eva is that chic that most guys wish they had; energetic, intelligent, adventurous, strong, courageous, and beautiful! Looking forward to watching the rest of this series! Thanks Sterling and Eva, y'all are awesome! Cheers from Alabama!
How true. We need some Eva clones out there.
You two brighten my day. Thanks
I have a sidecar in Thailand,I use most days, taking the dogs out, moving wood, ect. Love the lady's energy, she's on fire 🔥
“It’s comfortable but I haven’t learned how to relax quite yet. Still working on that” loool 😂
Girlfriend, your energy is off the charts! You are having too much fun!
Okay Sterling, NO FLATS this adventure! HAHAHA!
Hoping to see some dirt road side track rumbling.
I see, a bit unusual trip for you mate
You look a bit overwhelmed
Your energies complement each other really well.
You've outdone yourself Sterling. So loved the two of you together. Thank you for this.
Eva's smile is the best thing ever...
Another great one guys thanks for sharing your awesome adventure I really like them! The Ural motorcycle with a sidecar is pretty cool I have a guy go by my house every day with one of those to work
Jums abiem lieliski sanāk!👍
That looks like fun! The Pac NW is a great place to ride and explore (when it's not raining)
I really enjoy your adventures with Eva. Y’all are best the dynamic moto duo!
Yay, Sterling and Eva!!
Good luck. My Bud Ron Bedard had one. He burnt it when he had it crushed. Pretty disgusted with it. It was wild
Sterling, welcome to the wonderful, meditative world of being a motorcycle passenger! You definitely get to see much more than when you are the driver 😊
I had a 2019 Ural, if you put a throttle lock on it you will not have to fight the bike to go straight. On mine, after I got up to speed and engaged the throttle lock the bike would track straight down the road. With the engine RPM's staying constat, you don't have to wrestle with the bike to keep it straight.
Awesome video you two...
Talk about a team spirit.
Thank you
Woman driver who curses and swears!!! How awesome is that - I love it. Looks to be an amazing adventure.
You two rock!
Awesome, thanks for the ride, you and Eva looks so happy together. Enjoy your time together.
Judging by this first video….this should be a really fun series!
You’re gunna make me want a Ural again.
Thanks guys!
Going to be a great series!
Oh yeah! Eva brings an energy and enthusiasm to your adventures. The Tigger to Sterling's Christopher Robbin. I had a riding buddy that could ride a Honda ATC250R 3 wheeler very fast- When I tried it I would only make it a 1/2 mile down trail before giving up. Just watched sidecar racing at Laguna Seca. Imagine your shoulder dragging pavement exiting a turn. Thanks for showing us all the ways to enjoy motorcycle Travel.
Have to say Eva did extremely well to work it out so quickly...and with a passenger!
I was quick to learn to just do dirt roads with our Ural. Away from traffic....more relaxed. Well done guys 🙏
So many great comments so far, so I’ll just say Badass journey!
Love her energy! Always great videos . Thank you
Every new series and episode is like opening a Christmas present. The anticipation and the rewards of watching the two of you is so wonderful! Looking forward to the next one.
Great video! Can't wait for the video where you use the winch on the front of the Ural. 😀
Great to see you two having fun on another adventure. Love it and keep it up…you two are awesome!
Randy m
Thanks for this. Can´t wait for new updates on your trip.
This is really fun!! Hmmm, sidecar fo the old GS? I think, maybe!
be blessed for your riding buddies you have many
Enjoy the time while you can!!
I think the pure fun factor is over every speed and anything else on the ural with side car. I see you two guys having a fun of your lifetime with it. right on.
real cool. you should give a tour of the bike and how you kitted it out!?
We sure will! Stay tuned!
I love your smiles! Heading into an adv adventure week together, that's best. Looking forward to your next episodes (without flats), Günter/Nürnberg
Wow what a coincidence. I was just over at the local Ural dealer inquiring about renting a rig to see if my wife and dog would enjoy that type of riding. No they don't rent there and don't know who does. But I could take a test ride for a whole 2 miles!!
You two are beautiful, amazing, inspiring people. Loved the video!
Looks like you're going to have a barrel of fun in that rig!
Your wheat field pictures are gold.
You are Adventure Gods !
This is looking like too much fun ... ♥📷🏍💕
Exquisite production 👌 and what a crazy camera extender stick 🎥🦯
I love your solo moto adventures but Eva makes every video more better.
Speaking of more better....
Sidecar >> trike
Another level of filming on a BIKE. Great tunes Mr.
WOw, what a pair., and on a Ural. Some good adventure sharing will come from these episodes. 😊😎🏍
Freaking awesome you two. What an adventure. The bike is very cool. Look forward to the next video. Thanks for sharing this. 💯
Thanks that was awesome you guys !!
I love the Chinese safety boots you're both wearing while getting the bike off the truck👍👍.I'm really looking forward to the two of you taking the Ural bush, Aussie here, where they excel the most.
you guys rock!!
It was such a pleasure to meet you both this last April at you ADV Rally in Bieber and to see you two together again brings back my own fond memories. I really look forward to watching this series and all of the additional VLOGS that Sterling posts!
Thanks for Sharing! 14:10
Totally cool experience! Love it!
This is such a great video of you two having a blast! I saw you both at the Touratech Rally but didn't know you had ridden the URAL or that would have been a great subject to discuss. I was just happy to have met you both there! Eva and you are so joyful and positive and it makes me happy to watch these adventures! Thank you and take care out there!
Sidecar travel ! How cool an idea, and it reminds of one of those old WW2 movies that you see the Germans with their side car motorcycles.
This is gonna be a good series! Good to see you guys smiling so much!!
Delightful to see you and your partner on an adventure. Refreshing approach and fun to watch.
Nice seeing you both in one vid. I’m going to love this series.
Good to see you both back out together enjoy your time together on your holiday that's some bike & sidecar unit not seen anything like this side of the pond 🇬🇧🇺🇲
Oh I love this you guys! Now we need to all go to Alaska and ride urals together. Great video Sterling and Eva I love e that you never stopped smiling.
You two!! How fun! Love seeing you both on the road in the Ural like this! Now I need to sneak my way into that side car with you Eva! Off we’d go! 😂😊
Love the Ural! Looking forward to more! The Ural has some nice mods. Thanks for sharing!
Welcome to the “Ural Life”. I had a chance to speak briefly with both of you at Touratech while admiring your tricked out Ural. As a fellow Ural rider I appreciate Eva’s comment first day about how tired she was after wrestling the hack all day. One can console yourself by admiring how “buff” you feel in your upper body the next day. As usual great photo/video journalism.
Hmm, something familiar about the scenery... :) Looks like fun!
When Sterling started introducing Eva to the channel, I thought she looked familiar. I now know where I saw her from. Naked and Afraid. Her energy was also the same as being in that show.
Did she finish?
@@jchapman1351 I don’t remember, it’s been a few years ago.
Great way to share the adventure, this should be the honeymoon rig/ trip.
You two are amazing, safe travels!
G'day for you, Power on around right handers. Decrease throttle on left. Then you will find a balance on how too. (lols opp to Aus). Great video thankyou.
you two rock!
Eva is a bad azz. Sterling is nice too. Cheers
Thanks for making me smile!
So much fun on the Ural! Beautiful wheatfield
This first episode is absolutely amazing ❤thank you guys🎉
Super....mit einer Ural ! Weiter so..
you guys are so much fun....ya'll ROCK!
Nice bid. Beautiful ride. Lot different from the ground level. Good photography, music. Next time
loving this...I've been thinking about a side car in for my old age...I'm there now.
Nice! These bikes are heavy… I had a hard time lifting it on the center stand when I had to change the tire. Looks hard for you to sit still since you are usually the one driving. Awesome experience, great scenery.
Fantastic guys the the PNW is truly beautiful enjoy.........
This will be fun. I see you encountered your first covered bridge. Perfect time of year in Oregon.
Absolutely the start of a great adventure
Awesome, I really love this couple😍😍😍
Good stuff guys!!😎👍🏼👍🏼
Sterling lucky as hell...i loved this woman since i first saw her on naked and afraid..shes tough as hell. She'll help you survive a apocalypse lol. Shout-out from westmonroe la
Really enjoyed this segment! I fractured my left foot two years ago in a get off on my BMW GSA riding UTV trails. I came really close to pulling the trigger on a hack. The only thing that stood in the way was logistics. I’m in Vermont and the rig was in Oregon. Looking forward to more!
Thanks for sharing. Can't wait to see the rest of the series. I bought a 2022 Ural Gear Up Sahara Expedition model last year as a way to continue enjoying riding when my wife could no longer ride pillion on my 2018 GS. We were blessed in that we were able to enjoy 4 months of riding smiles before she passed in August of 2023. Still have the sidecar and put more miles on it than my two 4 wheeled vehicles combined.
Fil bought a side car for his beemer one time, early 1970s,was definitely a challenge to handle..Eva is up for a challenge and I am up to watching her,,,love me some Eva,,,you go!!!
you guys are awesome...love these adventures....look forward to the rest of the story!!!!....BTW - you look funny riding shotgun - HA!!!
Great new video.... You both are awesome and glad to have met you both....
Bonjour,c'a fait vraiment envie d'essayer de voir ces gens heureux d'avoir le leur 😏😀😀😀👍
Ha, you're not a proper Sidecarist until you've scared the shite out of your self a few times. You know you've arrived when you look forward to it. :-) And yes you get tired but it's a Good Tired
Amazing bike, nice to drive slow and enjoy the ride ,,, (welcome to 3 wheel) Eva is doing super.and the joy of doing this shows on her face,. steerling its now women power , just get filming and do your thing .
Eva wrassling the outfit in the trailer
another great vid/series Sterling! you'd be better off in a newer BMW GS w/ Sidecar:) Its one of my dreams to get one so i can take my black lab or granddaughter on a trip/adventure.
the Vikings Burnt Theyre Ships. Thank you Eva for having a riding buddy Like Sterling
