I am 67 and when I was a child my Grandmother showed me how to measure and make a few dots on a piece of tape and put it on my thumb nail and the buttonhole stitches were always perfectly spaced.
🙋 Donna, I like the message you showed us how to stitch on the thread so we can crochet around the edge of the blanket. It's so much easier than the way I've seen it done before. I like the shell stitch pattern too that's really pretty. Thank you for making this video.
Thank you very much for the video! I'm always "in trouble" with hemming and crocheting the right-angled corner of the canvas, I'd be happy to see a video explaining it from you, dear Dana
Thank you so much for showing this. I was just watching another video, and was wondering how to crochet around fleece. Now I will give it a try. Thanks again.
I really like the edge haven’t thought about doing a blanket stitch first. I usually just single crochet twice around. Thanks for sharing your pattern it’s very pretty and easy.
The stitching you do around the blanket we learned in primary school in Australia and it’s call blanket stitch. And very handy in for a lot of applications. 😀🇦🇺
Ah Donna you are a marvelous, beautiful and so creative! When I lose my crojo I watch your video! Thanks for all you do! My grandma always did this with towels and always wondered how she did that…. Thanks again
Hi, I enjoy watching and learning from your videos. I wanted to share the Fiskars 45mm perforating rotary blade with you. It makes the hole around the fleece. See you at next.
This is absolutely gorgeous! I have to apologize cause I have no clue how this works. A pop up came up and it said “report user” it was so fast, I was trying to add my comment and I have no idea to undo that. Donna, please forgive me, it most definitely was unintentional. I love your channel. So so sorry 😞
Morning ma'am 👍🏻🤝 there's come my favorite video.... with easy method of edge stitching...🌹🌹🌹 I'll try it once . thanks 👍 ma'am for sharing... ma'am.. can I get a video how to sew zip on crochet bags. If you already have.. kindly please share with me..🥰 Thank you ma'am 👍🏻
The answer is yes, you can, but let me set some expectations first. Using the method I show, you would take your two pieces of fabric and do the blanket stitch around both of them together at the same time. So technically they would at that point be connected and sewn together. From there you would then put the crochet border on. Do realize that with two pieces of larger fabric, if they are not "quilted" together throughout the surface of the blanket, they might move around and shift, sometimes quite a lot. This might affect the crochet border a bit if it puts too much pressure on the blanket edging stitches.
I have a similar "sharp" crochet hook too. It works - easy to poke through fabric - but almost poked right through my fingers a few times too! So I put it away and just stuck with the sewing method instead. 😬

I love the edging you’ve done here. I always see the most adorable fleece but never buy it because of the plain edges. So thank you, I’m excited now!

Amei!!! Gostaria de aprender a fazer sapato em crochê. Gratidão!💐💐💐
I use a slotted rotary tool to cut into the fleece 1/2 inch in, then crotchet on the yarn edge.
Thank you 😊
You're welcome 😊
Thanks!
Thank you very much for your kindness! I truly appreciate it!
Beautiful! ❤ question? All the videos I watch are only one piece of fleece. Can k use two pieces of fleece? I bought a print and then a Solid piece.
The answer is yes, you can, but let me set some expectations first. Using the method I show, you would take your two pieces of fabric and do the blanket stitch around both of them together at the same time. So technically they would at that point be connected and sewn together. From there you would then put the crochet border on. This might affect the crochet border a bit if it puts too much pressure on the blanket edging stitches.
Can I suggest that you use a good quality fleece? The thinner stuff will not look as nice.
Please do you know his way to make shapes of burlap with crochet as bags or brushes or anything
I have a edgit crochet hook. I haven't used it yet.
I have a similar "sharp" crochet hook too. It works - easy to poke through fabric - but almost poked right through my fingers a few times too! So I put it away and just stuck with the sewing method instead. 😬
