This doesn't just have "some off-road potential". This thing is an off-road beast with the right tires. There are several reviews with them being thrashed and they are up to the task.

You are a local honest reviewer to myself.
I think it’s the reason you are building a great following of subscribers.
Each review is in depth and you give details on
How the bike feels to ride etc almost describing the sensations to the perspective purchaser wanting a better review than the so called you tubers who are just after ratings.
Myself I’m getting closer within the next few months on purchasing my new bike a 2020 model, your review on the Versys 1000se is still the best review I’ve seen.
The tracer is out of the running due to the single headlight working on dipped beam so I will let you know my choice in Feb / March. It might be a bike that you haven’t had yet in the 2020 variant there’s a clue. It’s between 2 bikes both are top and tick all the boxes for myself.
I will in fact be team green once the purchase is made.
Thanks again for the spot on reviews. Mark

Great review as always Mark, been subscribed for years, and wow, a face reveal! Brit living in the Netherlands here, but from your area. Love the no-frills simplicity, does all the important things brilliantly. Long time coming but looks like it was worth the wait! I’m thinking crash bars, rad guard, rally seat, bar risers, Oxford grips (I’ve heard the stock 1s aren’t great, thoughts?), centre stand, top box, 12v socket, phone holder.. I can see myself being a happy owner for many years to come. White and Red for me. Can’t wait for Spring!

You should include city riding in your test routes so that we know how the bikes are in filtering, moving around in cramped traffic and full stop moving in parking, etc. So we can get a feel how the bikes are in daily living. Cheers and more videos to come.

What i dont like about this bike is narrow seat, the fueltank, only 16 liter must be 20 liter and the tankcap, you have to remove it with the key in it. Bike is a bit exspensive here in The Netherlands 11.600 euro. The vstrom 650 xta is now 9200 euro.

Costs a bit too much for a "no frills" bike. I like the maintenance intervals. MUCH better than the Tiger 800. I suspect many of those owners are getting tired of dropping $1,500 on valve inspections every 12k miles. This will be my next touring bike.

@@markpulling12 This helps tremendously. I'm the same dimensions and ride full sized off road bikes. Seems I'd be just fine on the T7 unless doing some slow technical off-road... which isn't really the point of the bike to begin with.

    • @markpulling12
      @markpulling12  4 ปีที่แล้ว

Most manufacturers will want you to have your valves checked around the 25 k mile range ,some bikes don't need much adjustment if any some might need the odd shim or two , thanks Mark

The base is okay, the rest is very revisable.
The driving gear is good for the road.
The rest must be revised strongly for Offroad. The teaser videos promise something that won't be held.

    Before Covid, eh.
If this bike had tubeless tyres and was 100 cc more, it would really rival the KTM 790/890 Adventure. I must admit, though, it already has enough low-down torque, and it is relaxed enough at 4,000 rpm in top with lots left for top gear overtakes. Bikes have come on so much since my Africa Twin 750 days.

  • @fredrik999z

I would rather call it "an offroad bike with touring capabilities" and not the opposite. The comfort is not good for longer trips. There are aftermarket seats and windscreen to buy but as it is now it is definitely more offroad oriented.

I wouldn't buy the bike just because of that dash. Looks like a 90's pda. It blocks view directly in front of the tire which would be useful offroad. If it was horizontal and down further it would be usable.
