I called the cd I showed a cassette at lease twice, this is what you get from a unscripted/unedited middle-aged metalhead! I’m either FABULOUS or a DISASTER 😉

Same here, I read about it and thought... "Oh well..." Then I heard "Fabulous..." and preordered it right away, hahaha... It´s fantastic! I don´t like the old "Good Friendly..." that much, it sound somewhat pieced together and the crowd noise is annoying. Parts of the show in Essen Germany were broadcasted on RTL TV back in the day, it´s still on TH-cam.
In 2010 the released "Shovel Headed Tour Machine", a live album recorded at Wacken Open Air.

Fabulous Disaster was my introduction to Exodus at age 15, and is still my favorite album of the catalog. Can’t wait to pick the live release.

I too was on the fence, but Exodus is just a machine live. Then I saw the setlist and had a memory from that tour which was the first time I saw them in person. So it’s got several meanings for my interest and HAD to have it. Sounds amazing and the package overall is just so worth it!! Great review. Thanks for posting.

I do like a good live album, but I'm on the fence with this one. Glad to hear it's a single show though, the banter is often cut out of live releases and that's a real shame.
I preordered this this right away and here I am still waiting for it.

At least it's a proper live album all from one show. My love of live albums dates back to when that was all i had from a band at the time. Old punk and psychobilly stuff. Im listening to it on TH-cam as i type this. Sounds good. Id have jumped on a DVD of it.
Yeah those pieced together live albums just don’t work, there’s no flow! I never got to see Exodus live until 2010, so a DVD for this show would’ve been awesome! Tty tomorrow 🤘 Cheers Mike

Great review Darcy! I saw this released on their channel and the pre order online, I was hoping my dad was at that show but he went to a different venue unfortunately. Im not really a live album guy either, but this looks so good i might pick it up. Literally the best era of Exodus in their prime, playing all the best songs, can't get much better! Interesting they wanted to release one last thing with Nuclear Blast before they move to Napalm, must have been contractual. I didn't know they were moving labels! 😃🤘
I see a few bands have left Nuclear Blast Records & headed over to Napalm Records or Reigning Phoenix Music. This one is well worth it, it’s like a Best Of the first 3 albums really! Thanks as always 🤘 Cheers Josh

I am not a huge trash metal fan anymore, but Bounded by Blood is in my collection. Still I am interested hearing this live release. When I am in the mood I will enjoy it for sure! At this moment I enjoy the new Witherfall, what a band! Rock on, I like your commands on metal releases.

I ordered this earlier today all my fave songs on it. I first saw them with Helloween and Anthrax
That’s are great lineup! The only song that I wish was on here is Metal Command, my favourite tune from Bonded By Blood. You will definitely enjoy it when it arrives 🤘 Cheers Mark
I might pick this up even though I'm not the biggest on purchasing live albums much these days. Since it's from 1989 though I'm pretty interested. Fabulous Disaster was the first Exodus album I heard back in 1989.

@@darcysixstringsninelives3493 I gave it a listen this morning. The band seemed on top form, they're not a band I grew up with but there seems to be some very good versions of the songs on this recording.

Never got into them as I hate the tone of the singer, what a cracking album sounds better than most studio versions, the drums sound class. Listened to it all the way through on a car journey 💪🏼
Man I really dig Exodus, glad to see a truly great live album from Exodus finally.
Really want to see them on the current tour, coming 45 minutes my place for 41.50 USD only. Trying to get my father to go but man we're going to a ton already and at this point, getting more time off is a bit of a deal breaker for us, maybe...
If you've ever seen Exodus live, do you think it's worth it?
Like I say you have to pick your battles lol. For me shows ALWAYS involve travel, at least 2-5 hours by car or the bigger shows I’d have to fly to Edmonton or Calgary. I don’t go to many these days, mostly I just don’t have the time. I’ve seen Exodus 2 times, 2004 & 2010, both times the crushed! Let me know if you end up going & if it was awesome 🤘
@@darcysixstringsninelives3493 fair enough, totally feel you with the travel. Got a few shows already lined up that are roughly 2-4 hours depending on traffic, so I was very surprised to see Exodus play a small venue "close" by lol.
That's really cool that you've seen them both with Zetro and Rob, both are great singers and somehow fit the band so well.
Definitely will let ya know how it goes if I end up getting some tickets!

I've seen the album on Amazon, but ddnt know much about it. Thanks for the review. I've always been weary of live thrash albums from this era after the horrid Nuclear Assault Live At Hammersmith live album. I agree with your take on this era 100% Zetro has gone full try hard now. I would go as far as saying I like Force of Habit more then anything after Tempo of the Danmed.
Yeah Tempo Of The Damned was their last great album in my eyes. Need to get back to their roots & not rely on that “heavy as f#%k” approach. I think you’ll be pleasantly surprised if you give it a listen, it’s definitely got the Zetro you’re looking for lol. Thanks as always 🤘 Cheers Greg
@@darcysixstringsninelives3493 Yeah and Exodus and Testament releasing 60 + minute thrash albums make for a tiring listen. They need to go back to the 40-45 minute sweet spot

It’s good but I think Another Lesson in Violence sounds way better. And it’s with Baloff!

Cool album, I like Exodus but I have never been a fan of Zetro’s vocals. He reminds me of Froggy from The Little Rascals. 🤷♂️

It’s why they never made it to top 4 status, they all had singers that sounded good to the ear, the rest of the bands played just as hard but the vocals let them down.
