Hey guys, resident hobby blacksmith. Just go to a machine shop and offer to buy one of their excess hunks of metal. You want something hard and flat. Once chained to a stump it works great. I combine that with the stow away no weld forge made by Essential Craftsman. If you absolutely need a horn you can either grind one out or get the cheap mini anvil from Harbor Freight. I've used it to make some tongs and its not bad.

Flexing some mad skills with this over the top (and mildly unnecessary) heroes build for the JDM crowd.

Easiest way to make the bellhousing portion of a trans tunnel is to weld 3/8 round rod to all the seams or corned connecting the too then lay cardboard over it and trace it from the bottom. Then you have a backing bar were the sheet metal but weld together it way stronger and easier to weld

I severed the tendons in three of my fingers on my right hand working with rough cut sheetmetal... Guys please atleast wear gloves! I'm looking at 5 surgeries, a year or more of physical therapy, and shit ton of medical bills.
I think you guys should take this thing too sema. It truly is a testament to what a couple guys can do in their garage without all the money in the world 🔥

I'm doing something like this to my Sunfire. I'm swapping out my 2.2 and 4T40 for a Hyundai 2.4 engine and a Ford AOD-E transmission, as well as a Ford 8.8 rear axle. All of these parts are gonna come from junkyard trucks and cars since brand new stuff is a lot more expensive.
You can find anvils at yard sales at stuff alot cheaper if your lucky I got my dad to get me a little one cuz I was destroying his scrap break rotors trying to blacksmith stuff

I never knew how long it takes to do descent sheet metal work until I recently built a firewall and trans tunnel and it took me like 100hrs. Lol
It's actually insane how much custom fab has gone into this.
You can also use a small section of railroad track instead of an anvil. Just needs some wearing in to be perfect!
