  • I bought this 2007 Chevrolet Silverado from the auction with front end and side damage from a trip off road. We will fix all the accident related damage as well as the broken stuff the last owner seems to have neglected over the years.

    Seems like there was more work involved in fixing all the small issues and the maintenance than what there was in the actual damage repair. For an older truck, it came out looking pretty good. Always interesting seeing how you turn a pile of junk into a nice vehicle that the new owner can enjoy for years to come. All the best from Queensland Australia.

    • @fraidykat
      @fraidykat ปีที่แล้ว +2

      That small stuff is why people will trade in a used truck for a new one truck with a $60,000 note. Used dealership will put in the $1000-$3000 to fix all these minor issues and then resell the old truck for $30,000-$40,000 because that's what a used truck seems to cost nowadays.

    It's kinda funny, Y'all come to Texas to find rust free trucks, we go north to find trucks with interior plastics that haven't completely disintegrated.
    I think a 1994-up body style dashboard without cracks sells for more than a running truck does these days. Unless it's a Cummins, then they're all at least 20k.

They could save the parts and the hassle and just put the hose over the heater core lines directly. That's what I ended up doing in my F350 with a new core--- and it has worked well for over 100k more miles. 330k now on my 2002 7.3 Diesel. Has 6spd manual, manual transfer case and manual locking hubs. Probably the best truck Ford ever made.

    He makes it look easy. Lots of knowledge there for sure. Imagine if they made a brand new production model the same everything ( window cranks) with the good Vortec motor, no AFM. Good affordable price point.
    History would be made???

    The hinges make for a poor ground. The ground strap for the hood keeps all of the panels grounded to each other and prevents RF noise. This will help the radio have better signal.

    Love your videos Scott and I love love when you do the gmt800 trucks I love these trucks and they are very simple I have a 2001 that one day I want to do up the way I been planning on and every time I see any video of yours it motivates me to keep wanting to do it but when I see your videos including trucks like mine it really makes me want to start the process lol I’m in jersey so you know them rockers got that mod that everyone loves the ones where when you hit hard enough bumps you get the weight reduction to go faster I guess it’s a plus because I’m to broke for go fast parts hahah

    I worked at Oreilly Auto Parts.Sold lots of those GM hose fittings.Did really like that era of GM pickups when they made the headlights so easy to remove.
