    I resisted Spyderco for several years but bought a Tenatious in green a month ago and can’t stop playing with it.

    I have both, the Tenacious in black. Excellent knives, but my favorite is the Resilience, not one of my most expensive ones, but surely one of the best I have. Thanks for the review.

    I haven’t had much experience with the Tenacious however I had the resilience for about a year. I loved the blade but my only problem was that it would take up most of my pocket when carrying.

      That Resilience is a huge knife. The PM2 and tenacious are eadier to carry.

      I had the same problem with the resilience being way too large when I was wearing your sister’s jeans.

    My only issue is their refusal to make a damn deep carry clip.

    Many knives are about getting them in your hand whether theyre 50.00 or 1500.00. The resilience is on sale for 35 at walmart

    My Endura is so old that it has an FRN pocket clip cast into the grip. Still looks new. My Delica has been sharpened over the years so much that it's semi-retired, but still shaved hair. I bought the Tenacious as an EDC knife a few years ago, and it has held up surprisingly well. In my wallet, I keep a Spydercard plain edge for those times when I don't want to have a knife in my pocket. I wish Spyderco would bring it back. These have all seved me well for many years. I can recommend Spyderco, based on utility, but none of them will win a beauty contest.

    Great video… now in S35vn…. With best heat treats… Eric talks about it… I’ve got many spyderco…. Love them all… but the tenacious… resilience & persistence are as good as any or better! I think better… now m4 is used on the tenacious too! Killer budget lineup. !!

    The holes in the blade is what makes then awesome. The hole doesn't effect strength.....you never see a bridge without "holes in it".....force is distributed around the hole.

    Absolutely would take this knife to the end of the world, have had a tenacious for 5 years or so and have beat the shit out of it doing construction, the blade still has no rock side to side, it has done better than every premium knife I've bought, especially compared to benchmade

      the tenacious seems like the ultimate work knife, just very balanced, simple light and effective and feels strong as a tank. no need for any other knife really

    For the money, nothing beats Work Sharp combo kit for knife sharpening. But if you know what you’re doing, get Shapton glass stones.

    Single hole in the blade = bad
    Multiple holes in handle = I like that

  • @Sheepleton
    @Sheepleton 4 ปีที่แล้ว +10

    The hole is better than thumb studs because you can slice through stuff without snags. I hated Spyderco and thought they were dorky looking and overpriced (I still won't buy their top end models) but their cheap lineup is worth it.

    Your former hesitance to use a blade with a hole in it reminds me of the full tang fetishists... who reject hidden tangs etc on the basis that they would fail at forces far exceeding what they could ever exert in normal use. Congrats on the horizon-broadening!

    I hated Spyderco forever I bought a tenacious after looking at it at Walmart I have been carrying that thing every day for about six months. I went back today when I saw the Resilience for $35 I had to get it. It’s a little large I’m getting used to that but I like.

    I could gut and quarter a deer with those! I like the quick smooth opening motion that hole allows. Looks like nice EDC knives for the money. Thanks for the review.

      Zellerman. Yes these are perfectly fine for field dress and quarter.
      I have the big one. The resilience myself. But only paid 32.00 with free shipping off ebay.

    These "old" Spyderco reviews are always so surreal. 42 dollars for a Tenacious only five years ago, they're 85+ euros over here for the LW nowadays.

    Can you expand on "the end of the world knife"
    We would probably die of hunger before the knife brakes
    Is a sincere question, what do you mean?
    It's been 4 yrs since your video
    Today's model has improved steel btw
    Ty in advance

      @OzarkPursuit7883  11 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      I meant a knife with great durability, edge retention and purpose. In 2024 my "end of the world knife" would likely be a fixed blade in the best all purpose steel of the time. If I chose one folder it would likely be a Chris Reeve in magacut or similar. This knife would have mi imal plastic to stand up to all use possible. Thanks for watching.

    At the beginning I hated the look of Spyderco knives. But I've given them a chance and I was sold by their quality.
    And You don't like holes, huh? Boy...if or when You will find Yourself a wife, You'll be surprised!
