It's a good idea to set a password in your family, or recount a memory only the family would know. You can confirm accidents with the local Police department, at least if they were reported. Hospitals should confirm if someone was admitted.

I helped my dad out with a scammer a few years ago when he got a call from an Indian call centre saying that his version of Microsoft Windows was not installed by a certified MS engineer and they would reinstall it remotely for £300. Luckily I was on hand to tell them to F-Off.
No it's stupid. If they really want to make a difference, they should be respectful and try to get the mule to flip on their higher ups. They could potentially work their way up the ladder and expose many operations highest levels. Being a bunch of a**holes to the mules is just going to get them to shut down and not work with them at all. If I was a mule and I saw them, I'd simply turn around and drive off. If they tried to hold me against my will, that's first degree kidnapping on their part and they could potentially get arrested. It's good that they're exposing different scams so that the public is aware of them, but if they weren't a bunch of morons, they could use their platform to potentially take down entire scamming rings/operations. How is ridiculing a money mule (who is at the bottom of the bottom in regards to the scamming hierarchy) doing anything productive?

@@satan899the scammers are overseas..usually in Pakistan or India..US law can only try to get their law enforcement to cooperate..what they are doing is getting the cash mules in the States to stop therefore not giving the scammer a way to get the money..i do agree they should also get them arrested

While I understand that, it isnt like that unbelievable that a lone woman would be a bit scared/intimidated to walk outside alone with supposed to be a box with thousands of dollars in it to meet some stranger they have no clue of who it is.
I do get what you're saying though, it totally makes sense, but at the same time I feel its just as realistic for a woman by herself to not want to just blindly walk out into the unknown and go meet some random they have no clue who they are, so it kinda makes sense on both ends imo.
