I own a 2020 Chevy 2500 HD Z71 crew cab with 6.6 gas (over 400 hp, 500+ torque) and 6.6’ bed. I put an Arctic Fox 811 on it. It has heat, ac, full bath with shower, dinette and large fridge and freezer on a power slide out. It also has an Onen/cummings generator, 56 gal fresh, 38 gal blk, and 38 gal grey tanks. It sleeps 5 with regular queen bed, dinette into twin bed and a bunk over dinette. It also has solar with twin batteries, twin 30 lb LP tanks, 3 Awnings (1 power). Chevy makes these newer 3/4 tones with all 1 ton axles, springs etc. I put airbags on the rear (in case). Now, I have around $80,000 in the complete package. Good luck finding an off road, off grid package this nice, this cheap.
With the Earthroamer starting at $600k and finishing about $700k, the title is actually an accurate statement. Some of these are 1/2 t0 1/3rd the price so "budget" is fitting. All things are relative and welcome to the world of overlanding.
