You’ve probably heard this so many times, but you’ve inspired me to start skating again. Skating has always been so much fun, and has helped guide me through rough times. Thank you!
Yeah absolutely, I get truly lost in skating, it got me through many a breakup, hangover, depression and drug addiction etc. I don't think I would be here without it.
@@johnny13035 Oh im fine, I work in a charity now with repeat offenders and duel diagnosed drug/mental health issues . Been working their 15 plus year now
I’m a 50 year old scooter rider, and while John Reyes is the only scooter I watch, I actually watch a lot of skateboarders (and I’m not a skateboarder). I’ve actually taken a lot of good thinking from guys like Mike Valelly (spelled wrong!), and applied it to my own sports like road cycling, cyclocross, and rock climbing. Definitely enjoy your videos as well, and like the idea of progressing my scooter riding daily. Cheers!
In my earlier days as a climber, I was a boulders, occasional outdoor top-roper, ice climber on two occasions, and otherwise a gym rat, doing 5.10s and V3s. I took up climbing again after 15 years away, mainly because I’d rather have my kids climb the walls of gyms instead of the walls of my house!
Im sure you feel lucky to be this person, who gets to do what he loves he most as a career, but I’m sure most of us can agree that your work ethic and passion shines through these videos. You deserve the best man
I never skip around your videos, it always transitions nicely unless your adding a past session in the very end. But it's satisfying as hell to watch the clips and entertaining and thought provoking sometimes to her your message!! This vid was 🔥🔥
Love it, not much more to say than your probably the biggest inspiration to most of your followers, someone to relate to and a constant source of happiness. Thank you John Hill on behalf of everyone you move to keep killing it, me being one of them. ✌️
Hey John I just wanna say that your videos are amazing and everytime i see your new uploads come up on my feed i get excited so thank you keep up the videos and i’ll always be excited for new content👍🏻👍🏻
When I was young I primarily skated with my group of friends. 3-6 people usually, we lived in a big city so it’s safer too. However, the older I got the number went down and around 18 years old I primarily skated with my biker friend. It’s nice having variation to me. Snowboarding I have a lot of friends who ski and we all hype each other up, same idea. Your trick pool is unreal. Nearly every video I walk away with new ideas, thank you!
1 min and 15 seconds into the video and I can see that Hes a person as well, You dont need to have the same hobbies, but videography and being great souls is what you too share alike, Mucho love. (btw im the run on sentence King)
Found you as a skating TH-camr when I started 2 months ago and now because of you and a few others I can almost ride switch and I can shuvit and almost Ollie. Huge inspiration
The real switch test is hill bombing. That's how you learn in the skate game - with pain. Pain and building your switch ankle strength. Ollie's are hard when you start. recommend you ride everything everywhere. The tricks come later. Learn power slides as soon as possible.
@@thepancakemann good advice. My main goal right now is better switch and maybe slappys. I ride 90a wheels does that matter for power slides or do I need to use my 100a’s?
I always admire skateboarders, skateboarding in general... some of those falls are so gnarly but yet you get back up and try again and that is similiar to life. In life we take huge hits and even fall but we must get back up and keep trying.
Between skating, filming, gaming and spending time with my fiance, I totally get it. The guy who filmed my first laser down a set was a really great scooter guy and now were decent friends and have fun seshs whenever we catch each other somewhere! (I like this style of video much better than comparing park to street!) No one ever wants to skate where I do and they always go farther out than I'm willing to. I'm sure some people think I'm standoffish but I'm not. I just heavily enjoy making my life as smooth as possible, if I have to finagle a session together all the time its too much planning not to mention gas is insane rn. Skating close to home has never been more convenient and fulfilling but when it's all you can do it becomes so much more valuable. Also never get any filming done if there's too many people, which I don't mind cause my channel is literally 33 subs lmao but even that is so relatable as a creator in general.
Always enjoyed your videos John, I really enjoyed the nyc videos it’s where I started watching you. I love the go pro footage too I’ve noticed lately your content has been much better (for me personally) love it man 👍👍👍
That smith kickflip out on the round bar was amazing , it was moving around a bit as you did it . Very impressive man . Dam that fakie big spin flip was sick as over that rail . I'v done them but not over stuff like that lol
The glossary doesnt really work without timestamps. Which is fine cause im watching the whole thing but you should put in the time stamps so then there is chapters
I could care less about scooters but you and Jon had a good vibe together and always made for a good video 🤷♂️. Some of my fav videos of yours were you two just exploring NYC.
Enjoyed the vid John, including the update with John / Jon the scooter guy! Looks like he has a nice setup in NC. Amazing how much cheaper real estate is down south.
It's not what you do, but who you are as a person, that determines if someone is nice to hang around with or not :) Would love to see you try out the "grandmother" of all skateboards, Classic Quad Roller Skates, since they are, in fact, tiny skateboards on your shoes, and skateboarding owes a lot to those tiny, rolling shoes :D
I am trying to learn to skateboard, I can Ollie on grass and concrete stationary , shuv its but I realized that I ride opposite to how I do tricks . I ride goofy but do tricks regular and I can't to opposite . What should I do?
Can we all just appreciate the editing on the skate sessions. I don't know if it was intentional, but it seemed like it that he matched the music to the skateboarding.
Do you skate? This sounds like the perspective and unwanted advice of someone who doesn't. Skating is weird bro. I hate to break it to you, but it's also an individualist pastime. The most progress happens alone and skaters who skate by themselves do it for a reason. I've skated for 24 years now. I don't do it for or with others. I consider that healthy. Weird. If you rip, stay rippin' 🤙 Otherwise you're trippin' 🚭

Just NYC? ;)
