Controversial Katie Hopkins has made headlines for her outspoken views.
However, the former Apprentice and CCB contestant lost a libel action against another columnist which has landed her in financial hot water.
Born in Devon in 1975, Hopkins studied economics at the University of Exeter.
She attended the Royal Military Academy Sandhurst where her training was hindered as a result of her epilepsy.

She had brain surgery to remove a tumour that was causing her epileptic fits. She bounced back with remarkable recovery and strength and paid amazing tributes to her surgeons.

Katie is brilliant, straight talking, to the point and doesn’t care who she offends in the process. Also a very good sense of humour and intelligent.
Reality is, It would be far too easy to be her, failed military college and wouldn't have stood a chance really in the army, attacking soliders on her own side... Couldn't fight off a single attacker, all mouth and would just shake in the corner.
I think ‘doesn’t care who she offends’ is the clue to her not being liked. Why would you applaud a woman for this trait… baffling

She's not really honest. She is on record as saying she judges people by their names and tells her kids to avoid children with what she considers "low class" names which she thinks indicates their character, and yet here she is praising the taxi drivers, make up staff etc as great people compared with the "important" people. She also launched her public profile on the back of The Apprentice which she entered under false pretences, she had no desire to work for Alan Sugar and only used it as a vehicle to put herself on the map, thus denying other genuine candidates the chance of getting through. Whatever she says on any chat show / interview / newspaper column, which might come across as speaking with honest conviction, you don't have to look far behind it to find her insincerity and that's when you realise it's all just about her staying relevant and being talked about.
Honest, courageous, witty, funny, and genuine. Katie is living life to her potential. Sadly, not everyone can do that. Freedom is priceless.
Anyone who can take on her Epilepsy, with the frequency of her attacks, and not think of herself a victim, is a heroine.

freedom of speech isn't bad, what's bad is using that to normalise discrimination and hatred towards minorities of all kinds. She is also spreading misinformation about depression - it is a medical condition that should always be taken seriously. It is as serious and as destructive as cancer. Also people like Katie Hopkins who preach "freedom of speech" want to take that freedom away from minorities and they are so outspoken about it it is disgusting. And whenever anyone critices them (by exercising their freedom of speech), they say "we can say what we want, you can't criticise us" and we can. It is freedom of speech, not freedom to have no consequences.

Listening to this in March 2021 how things have changed we can't open our mouths now Katie is speaking the truth as for depression my mum had 7 children and when we all grew up she said I never had time to be depressed
