God will speak directly to your spirit. He does all the time. WHEN He does, we verify it with the written Word. When we hear a word, in our spirit, or from someone preaching the Word, the Holy Spirit witnesses to OUR spirit, as to the Truth of that word, or the lack thereof... as in the case of "False Doctrine". John 14:26 "He (the Holy Spirit) will guide you into ALL TRUTH" John 16:13

The most excellent explanation that unveiled the the best truth I needed to know after salvation. The first time I read the book he wrote, I disagreed! I have never heard it taught that way before. It's indeed nearly-too-good-to-be-true.
The Holy Spirit works on all 3 levels of our being. First, He works on taming the desires of the carnal, earthly, physical flesh. Second, He works on the restructuring of our souls to become more able to carry out God's will in our lives. To put our faith into action. Third, He works on our spirit, fashioned in God's image and likeness. The spirit is limitless in dignity, for it is a smaller scale version of God's own goodness, beauty, and perfection. If we so allow Him, the Holy Spirit can magnify the brightness and beauty of our spirit. This occurs when we become obedient and docile to God's commands. As we carry out His will, we grow in unity and oneness with the Lord.
Salvation rebirths your spirit first, not last. The holy spirit is that down payment of salvation, sealing our spirit from sin. Our souls are changed in that we are given a new heart by God (which is why you don't WANT to sin). As we renew our mind to the word, that lets the spirit that God already changed manifest into our thinking and our body. It's this realization of the real you being a Spirit made just like God (in fact, scripture says we are become ONE with him, not just shadows or smaller pieces, but ONE) that allows you to lose the affections for sin. It is up to us to bring captive every thought contrary to that, and this is what "tames" carnal desires. It's in realizing we die to it when we died with Christ, and we come alive in truth when we came alive (in our spirit) with Christ. He doesn't tame the desires for you, he gives you a completely new heart, a protected and joined spirit with His, and these give you a new set of desires that run contrary to the habits of the old man. In the end, however, it will be 100% up to you, as the person, to choose to believe the right stuff and apply it. Then you will see it take affect in all aspects of your life. We are like our Father, in that we are Truth-speaking spirits of love. Any belief we have that is contrary to that, or puts some other steps on God other than what he already finished gives us ground to slow down or look less like Jesus. And if we truly believe what is false, we effectively poison the word in us, which makes it ineffectual. Like a fish breathing air, or a bird breathing water. It simply smothers us. This is why knowing truth, and understanding who we are is so important and why we are encouraged that "in all your getting, get understanding".
Jesus Christ is the living image of God, from first to last, He is the walking bible, because He is the word of God manifested in flesh.. only His Spirit alone is our spiritual mirror, the power of holy spirit in our lives..

Please consider making a visual explaining spiritual warfare. So many Christians hang on to what God says, his promises, and all the good stuff - and life happens and they wonder what THEY did wrong. How many times have people been deceived by what's in front of their eyes, "a good man", "a good woman", "good food", "American dream", "cotton candy everything is great life". So, there is no excuse people can give to not believe the Word of God. People experience the Spirit every day.
Pastor Wommack. I am 54, and I remember an event that happened when I was around 9 or 10 years old. I was sitting outside when all of a sudden I did not fit in my body. I was looking through very big eye sockets and seemed like I was too small for my body! My family was never religious so I knew nothing about what I know now. This event lasted a few seconds. I have often wondered what happened and why? I was definitely not one with my body in that few seconds!
It means you are bigger in the spiritual realm than you look in the physical. A pastor once prophesied that about me as well, because I am a warrior in Christ, almost quite literally. God bless you!

Pastor Wommack. I am 54, and I remember an event that happened when I was around 9 or 10 years old. I was sitting outside when all of a sudden I did not fit in my body. I was looking through very big eye sockets and seemed like I was too small for my body! My family was never religious so I knew nothing about what I know now. This event lasted a few seconds. I have often wondered what happened and why? I was definitely not one with my body in that few seconds!
It means you are bigger in the spiritual realm than you look in the physical. A pastor once prophesied that about me as well, because I am a warrior in Christ, almost quite literally. God bless you!
