IT'S THE ANXIETY!!!
Fr😅
Yes, we should not be pressing down hard to fret the guitar, but that assumes that the guitar is setup nicely or not strung with industrial cable strings.
It works only if you have very low action. For beginners I suggest you get your action adjusted.
I don't get it, wdym
@@mmbrown82lower or higher?
is there a video explaining what you just said
@@aamnamalik212 there's allot to talk about and people avoid talking about it
No, i have a high action guitar, im using the same technique he do. For short, low/high action are not really necessary
Great tip, and very timely for me! I’ve just realised that I do the exact same thing! I’ve been pressing down as if my life depended on it! 🙈😅😂 Thanks Andy!
My first guitar had strings raised so far off the neck I got lines because had no choice but press hard. I loved playing so much eventually I played daily for hours and soon got blood blisters on the tops of all my fingers. Then the blisters would break and I'd just keep playing. Yeah, I loved it that much.
Same
After a good setup learning guitar became fun again
Good way to extend your practice time when your fingers are still developing callouses.
how long does that take? My fingers hurt bad!
@@aamnamalik212 I'm playing for one month and don't fell nothing anymore
@@aamnamalik212mine started developing after a week or so of practicing
Sorry Andy everyone has to have these lines! Guitar initiation! 😊😊😊
My fingers look like ETs 🤣... you get used to it
@@billstraka4946that's a beautiful thing. One day you'll appreciate it. 😉
just practice 2 to 4 hours a day and you won't have that issue any longer.
Forearm starts burning after 30 minutes
personally I've been practicing 4 hours a day for the last two months and my fingers still hurt every time
@@jeffstone7471Same here lol.
Well,,, practice on finger pressure/hmmm
How are you able to practice 4 hours a day 🫠... it's my 4th day..and I can't even press a string after 15-20 minutes of practice 🥲🥲🥲@@jeffstone7471
Cheers Andy.
if i don't press hard or don't apply enough pressure, there's a buzzing sound i can't stand
besides, pressing hard and practicing daily will eventually turn your soft fingertips into hard skin
yeah how do I avoid the buzzing sound?
brother you saved my weekend! i pressed like a lunatic now i suffer like a donkey! cheers🎉
Omg thank you so much for the advice
Thanks for the tip bro👍☝️
Oh I learned something once again thanks so much ❤
That depends on the guitar, I have one where it's strings are a bit far from the fretboard, it has been recommended by a friend that knows how to play it.
He said it's to get used to hard guitar and be much smoother
It’s a right of passage and ensures once your fingers get calloused it will no longer hurt.
Uhh yes, you do lol that's the point of practicing chords. If you're a beginner practicing chords it kind of helps to know if you're muting strings and stuff
what do you recommend to a beginner.
Just think of the lines as progress. Keep pressing down and your hands will get stronger
Great tip bro
It hurts😢 i wish i found this video when i was first learning guitar! It's sooooo painful😢 ouch.
Thank u so much
But then again, you do have to press them. And you get lines in your fingers. And that's fine.
bro almost wonderwalled us
Or...the string grooves in the nut are cut too shallow
ty bro
Blud, not pressing down ain’t the same
It's mostly inaccuracy. Beginners aren't fast or accurate with chord finger placement so they make u with force as their fingers often aren't perfectly placed to give good tone. Once you get fast and accurate you can lessen the pressure and your fingers will be less sensitive and more hardened.
Great video, also you look like sober, post-rehab Shaggy
😂😂😂
So sad mine requires pressing and not touch
Chances are your actions way to high if you are having this issue
any fix for that?
@@nakulkumar4197 bring the neck in or lower the saddles
Any tips to play the G chord? I can't make my second finger not mute the 5th chord help
When I don't press down hard I just mute the strings :/
Doesn't it buzz?
Or just embrace the suck 🤷♂️ I cut my fingers a couple of times while starting
Soft hands brother press down with everything with all pain and gain calluses till you can’t feel it (I’m not even joking I did that)
Its like an achievement for me 😂, i walk away knowing I played my hardest while I did
What if my guitar is on high action 😭😭
Any solution for high action guitar?
same with ukulele?
You say that as if im not strumming all the time because i DONT know if im touching the chords correctly lol
ITS HARDDD 😭😭😭😭
What to exactly do:
Guitar through the pain, don't complain. Pain is part of it. But rest is improtant if its tooooo painful
Wait so ur saying i don't have to press... 💀
Not if your guitar tension is very high😅
Imagine a guy explaining what to do if you have fat fingers when he doesn’t know the frustration of the thin finger tips he has 😂
Easy solution for this problem, just don't have fingers
😂
Yeah that's a good one
The action on my guitar is straight from hell so ye i actually need to press hard😂
When you have a permanent scar on middle finger it's more painful
But it sounds like shiet if I don't press for dear life
Tbh my hand so small I need to press them hard
Yiiiiikes
The funny thing is you will need an expensive guitar. That will allow you to press lightly and still play the note perfectly without a buzzing sound.
unfortunately, my guitar has high action
Wrong information.... Make your finger stone hard is the only way for pressing right way to chords and its actualy when you ll be habitual its easy for you to play chords while pressing it
Three videos with the same idea and answer to a problem as though it’s the only cause or solution for it is kinda silly. farm them views tho king
Me playing guitar for a month without knowing this: 😠
Bro looks like tommy from the last of us
That’d make me angry
This is not really any kind of advice. If the guitar hurts your fingers so bad, then quit playing because it ain't for you. Now if you wanna start acting like a protagonist, grit your teeth and bear through that pain because it's ABSOLUTELY NECESSARY for learning the guitar. The more you press into that pain, the less it becomes. Don't listen to this pretty boy as he strokes your delicate feelings. Pain makes strong muscle memory.
have you ever considered it's hurt because you're doing it wrong?
work smarter, not harder, yeah?
Lol 😂
Just cut off the foreskin of your fingers
