    Thanks John.
    I am 73 and active, but I have been thinking of doing an exercise routine to keep hunting the way I want.
    Every morning when I wake up, I refuse to let the old man in!!
    I plan on doing some of your routine.
    Thanks for the videos, I enjoy learning.

    John, I'm 51 and 4 years ago I changed my lifestyle ,losing 130 pounds, today I am able to hunt farther and longer than anyone I know (including my 30 year old son and 33 year old hunting buddy) lol. I sure hope in 20 years I'm still able to go like you are now. Thanks for the inspiration

      That's awesome and to lose that amount of weight requires a serious commitment. Congrats.

    John and I must be twins, I’m 66 and have been lifting weights for 35 years so I can hunt the way I do also. Four wheelers are not an option. I’ve been saddle hunting 25 years and you need to be in shape to go the extra mile. I work out 4 days a week at the gym lifting for2 hours and doing a kick your ass cycle class every morning. As you get older my philosophy on lifting is it light and right. Form is everything. Thanks for video John great minds think alike..

    Great message. My dad is 65 and hits the gym 4 times a week. He taught my brother and I the importance of physical conditioning. I have my 2 sons (8, 11) work out with me. There's no greater investment you can make than taking care of your health.

    An old buddy of mine says there's a difference between being in shape and being in woodsman shape.

    • @johneberhart4062
      @johneberhart4062 ปีที่แล้ว

      That's very true, I remember the first time I bow hunted for elk in Colorado on public land at 8,000 feet elevations. I worked my ass off and ran every day and it still took me 2 days to get acclimated to the thin air and not get winded.

    Thanks John for all the great videos! You mentioned in one of your videos that you started to use a bow with less lbs and I'm wondering if you will ever consider switching to a crossbow. I'm only a few years younger than you and because of neck surgery I switched to a crossbow because I would have had to switch to a compound bow with about 35 - 40 lb draw weight.

    • @johneberhart4062
      @johneberhart4062 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I'm sure I will at some point but as long as I can draw whatever the legal limit is, I will shoot a compound as the speed of my current compound at 40 pounds, is faster than the 60-pound bow I shot in the mid-70's. But yes, someday.

    how did you mess up your shoulders?

    • @johneberhart4062
      @johneberhart4062 ปีที่แล้ว

      My left shoulder was actually a ripped bicep from preparing a tree and the bicep had to be re-attached to a bone in my upper arm. While she was in their she cleaned up the bone spurs and arthritis. The right shoulder was just from getting old and having used my right arm more than my left as I'm right handed.
