I realy miss the little prefight interactions between characters. Like in 3rd strike the quick fist bump of ryu and ken. It feels like a missed opportunity to bring these back.
Sf 5 was super boring to watch, and I got real sick of it early on. Nothing is different its the same loops/combos over and over and over. Too early to say but early impressions this has more variety and decisions then sf 5 had
It's one of those mechanics that seems overpowered at first and everyone will get hit by it, but as the game gets older people will adapt and deal with it. It's the exact same situation as the Focus Attack in Street Fighter IV back in 2009. Everyone complained about it at first but then they got used to it.
nerfs projectiles because now you can just tank them for a big damage combo. I get that you have to be smart with projectile use but damn losing 35% for one mistake is kinda fucked.
@@matthewmorrison3745 you are right but I am giving the devs the benefit of the doubt here, as that would happen if they jump your fireball, If anything, this gives you chance to layer it up in the midrange, as any unsuspecting drive impact will get countered with another and then you get the high reward, instead of maybe hitting a Shoryu and that is it, possibility of a lot of mind games in here and I am truly excited about that

I would like it if Ryu and Ken could fist bump (like de ole days) before their match starts during their pre-fight animation. As a teen, character interactions in fighting games were magical to me... still is to be honest.
Cero’s prob got the best Ken I’ve seen, and as a Ken stan it’s hard to root against him….but Snake Eyez is just too likable and smooth with his Ryu. Dude is a goat.

I think I'm just old... I enjoy the classic anime style/original voices from the past. Hearing them say the moves just doesn't sound great anymore. They sound like dudes off the street could have voiced everything. Also having many fighters too bulky doesn't sit well with me either. Maybe why I enjoy MvC style a lot better.

You can still do like 3-4 lights to hit confirm and it's actually useful. It'll make its way back a little bit because you can't frame trap going light to medium/heavy on block anymore and when you pressure with lights, you can react to drive impacts.
In a lot of situations a parry will kinda just leave both parties at neutral whereas other mechanics when done right can leave people at an advantage. I'm sure once the game is in people's hands for long enough, they'll learn which moves to parry, not to mention perfect parry
Parry seems to be a mechanic that needs you to have a lot of awareness and matchup knowledge to unlock its potential, given its recovery. Damage after a perfect parry scales A LOT so it's used mainly for a safe wakeup. I think it's only natural people don't use it as much unless it's fireballs, givrn the reward not justifying the risk (not knowing what the opponent will do), yet.
@@actual_mel I think there was a post on Twitter that said that perfect parry damage scaling is removed completely if the attack is timed RIGHT after the slow down Edit: nevermind, think it was a mistake. My bad.
Ken is a pressure fighter. I like how both players used spacing and base to set up attacks but some of the best Ken players I've seen so far pressure more and don't jump.
Oh I really love whenever the pretentious,arrogant Ken has the seventeen shades of shit getting smacked out if him.... especially from his arch rival; games looks great too.
This game is gonna still suck because no mid game . No push back on block it's the same problem from sf5 . The counters don't matter because they are are instead of push back.
