I thought you 2 did a masterful job in trying to figure out that crazy ending which I and most people was confused by the Hippo but fortunately we have Google and able to look up Egyptian gods. The Hippo God (Taweret is about protection and rebirth) we was introduced to her in the first episode as stuffed toys and plastic sold in the giftshop of the museum that Steven worked and maybe she is here to help Marc to escape from this seemingly after life mental stage that you two described in your breakdown. It was an interesting episode in keeping the viewers hooked in and trying to figure out what is coming next and good job you 2 in keeping up with this crazy ride.

3:50 Jake killed those guys because the guys brought their body to a secluded place to kill them after they knocked Marc out. It was - brutal - self-defense
1:20 Well, when you consider that Khonshu is a banished god and is one known to have abused his avatar, the one he's accusing of a crime, you might see why they believed him over Khonshu. Khonsu's attitude didn't help much either and he came without proof despite the fact that he told Marc that they needed an airtight case before hand. Had Steven and Marc been connected as they were by the end of the episode, Steven could have told Marc or the Ennead of Arthur's activities in the alps and London--Steven's the one Khonshu had an interaction with, not Marc and Marc didn't know the same things Steve did at that point in the story. That said, Hathor seemed moved by what Marc said and she did help him by giving him a clue. 1:31 that's probably because of what Osiris was saying during the trial, the gods wanted to take a step back and let man figure things out while leaving their avatars to watch them. Khonshu thought that was BS, which is why he involved himself in human affairs. 3:58 other persona comes to Steve's aid, not Marc's. Marc can take care of himself, but not Steven. When Steven got into trouble in the Alps he was saved by the persona we haven't formally met yet, and it came to his aid again in Cairo after Steven took the body from Marc during the chase in the bazaar. The other persona likely setup the date for Steven--the other persona always seems to be looking out for Steven, like a big brother figure. 6:42 Arthur was one of them, an avatar. It was clearly that they were still friendly to him, and I think they or just Osiris wanted Arthur to see for himself that Khonshu would never hurt or accuse anyone ever again before relocating with the other gods bound to their ushabti prisons. 8:37 Your instincts were right, they were preparing for the insanity ahead, lol. 11:09 this whole scene is sexual in nature. Nice adult humor that likely went over the heads of small children. 12:28 Spartan looked away at the absolute wrong time, lol. Marc punched Steven--he threated to their body off a cliff if Steven so much as touched her, and that's what happens next. You can hear Steven yell "Mommy" just before he falls, lol. 13:14 it sounds like Layla's father found the Scarab Arthur was after. 17:00 the Pharaoh. Ammit's avatar betrayed her, remember? That's what Hathor told Marc in the third episode. 18:03 two thousand year old body, give or take a thousand years, probably isn't all that strong. 19:50 explains why he was kicking ass all over Europe, Asia and Africa, well, at least in the MCU. 23:10 I don't think his partner is the third persona. We learned in the last episode, that the reason Marc didn't tell Layla about his DID is because he had it under control until recently, which is likely when he went through the throes of the death the first time. The barriers he had put in place over the years fell apart as his bodied readied itself for death. Khonshu saved Marc from dying, but he couldn't heal Marc's mind. Khonshu's power empowered Marc, but not just Marc as Steven showed us in the second episode, but Marc's other Personas too, giving them agency over Marc at times. Marc's partner in the comics is a character called Bushman. We'll have to wait and see what the MCU decides to do as the MCU doesn't slavishly follow the comics. 24:50 you were all of us watching this for the first time, so much in shock that we all failed to see that Marc's fall was broken by the stone floor he hit when landing in the shallow pool of water, but it sets up the next scene beautifully as we're all going WTF is happening right now. Marc was fatally shot twice. He's in shock, going through the throes of death (again) and his life is flashing before his eyes as his mind starts to collapse, at least that's how I've interpreted the scene that follows. We see a jumble of things from Marc's past and present most of which we were privy to. 26:15 "I can't tell the difference between my waking life and my dreams." --Steven Grant ^That's us now, lol! Marc likely was placed in a hospital of sorts as a child until he got his DID under control. The white is likely symbolizing his connection to Khonshu. There a lots of little nods to things we came to know about Marc through the series. Arthur's office has a lot, like the bust of Ammit watching over his office space; a glass pyramid paperweight; three canopic jars, likely symbolizing Marc, Steven and the other persona; a painting on the wall that resembles the village in the Alps, and of course the VHS tape Tomb Buster introducing us to Steven Grant--the VHS sort of dates Marc or rather Steven's origin. 28:55 the orderlies are the police officers that arrested Steven and the man is the one that got gutted just a few minutes earlier. There was another orderly complimenting a woman with Khonshu drawing and pushing a cart of cupcakes, he was the head of security Layla killed with her necklace daggers in the last episode. The man calling bingo numbers is the human statute Steven often talked to after work. 30:01 Marc was introduced to us in the sequence sitting (neutral), Steven was trapped in a sarcophagus lying down (docile) and the third persona is trapped inside an upright (ready) sarcophagus and his banging on it forcefully to be let out. To me Marc's life flashing before his eyes, has caught up just before the moment of death. Marc and Steven are connected and speaking to one another as they did when one was in control. Marc and Steven notice the third persona, but pass it by, which make sense to me because if Marc is watching his life flash before his eyes, it doesn't make sense for him to meet someone he didn't. The scene ends with Marc and Steven at the end of a hall, which I took for a metaphor, the light at the end of the tunnel. The door before them is likely another metaphor, the gate before judgement, and who's on the other side? A god! Not just any god, but the Goddess of Fertility and Rebirth, Taweret. Khonshu saved Marc from death, but could not fix him. Making Marc complete or a complete person of who he really is (Marc, Steven and his third persona) is something that should definitely be in Taweret's wheelhouse. Marc is going to need to be whole if he's going to defeat Arthur and Ammit. 30:51 Hathor is a different goddess and I don't think she has an animal form, though I could be wrong about that. But I think she's often depicted as a beautiful woman. I loved this ending! I can't wait to see how this ends, though I don't want it to end, lol. Nice reaction you too!
If you stick to the Egyprian mythology Marc/Steven are on their way to the underworld. You have to remember that there was nothing like hell in egytian mythology. The absolute punishment for the wicked, in ancient Egyptian thought, was the denial of an afterlife to the deceased, ceasing to exist (Ammit eats your heart). The soul travels by ship and is judged before it's allowed to enter. The lamps in the corridor were swaying like they are on a ship and I think I heard the sound of wood creaking. The hypo was already explained and it will be interesting if they keep Ammit as the villain because she didn't do the judgement of the soul. This was done by Anubis which was depicted as a canine or a man with a canine head. Remember we did see two jackals already.

I'm not completely versed in Egyptian history, I'm still learning, but from what I know, Alexander the Great did rule in Egypt (he conquered it in 332 BCE) in the late period(?) In the 31st Dynasty but that's all I know. And I'm not exactly sure if I'm 100% correct, but I do know at least that Alexander the Great did rule in Egypt at some point as a Pharoah
A theory is developing about Layla. Since it is about a different Marvel superhero that is not associated with Moon Knight (unless the MCU decides to connect them), it is not a spoiler. The name, Faoul, was on Layla's forged passport, then she confirmed the name of her father as Abdul El Faoul. Finally, in the mental ward, she was wearing a piece of tape around one of her fingers that had a red scarab drawn on it. The MCU might be setting Layla up to become a retooled version of the Scarlet Scarab.
19:35 "Fun fact, my grandfather's Macedonian" Not this one though mate. Steven doesn't mean the modern Slavic country of Macedonia (now called North Macedonia), but the Greek region of Macedonia (or Macedon) to the south-east. I feel the writers made the same mistake by having Steven say, "that's Macedonian", as there was no 'Macedonian' language back then. Alexander was Greek, so he spoke Ancient Greek. Every time someone would say that Alexander was Macedonian, people would confuse it with the Slavic country (the one your grandfather came from) and that is why a few years ago that country changed its name to 'NORTH Macedonia'. Also, regarding the accuracy, Alexander's body DID end up in Egypt, in the hands of one his Greek generals Ptolemy who would then become Pharoah (and would found the dynasty which would include Cleopatra). But no one knows what happened to it after that. But he was mummified, as Alexander was worshiped as a God and Ptolemy adopted Egyptian customs upon becoming Pharoah, so he would have wanted to maintain continuity with the previous ruler for a smooth transition
The ram on the way in represents Amun-Ra (Konshu's father) and Alexander was often depicted with ram's horns. Bit of a let down his mummy didn't have a gold Hellenistic mask with horns.
