This shows why Kevin and Sarah, you are a successful and growing farm. Planning and building for your pigs now while the weather is still favorable is so smart. I have watched your channel for 2 years now and love watching all you do and I learn so much from you both. God bless you both!
a few things I think you need to consider with the renovation of the pig farrowing area 1. a board around the bottom of the farrowing hut like you build in the dog whelping box to help puppies and in this case piglets from getting crushed by their mother if they are against the wall 2. a creep feed area so just the piglets can get in and not the mothers so they can be feed without their mothers eating it all or pushing the piglets out of the way and they eat it all themselves 3. internal pen system so the mumma's can have their own space if they farrow weeks apart from the other sows but the ability to open the whole thing up to make a big pen if mothers farrow together as they will feed one another piglets but also a place for week 1 to 2 when the babies are split from their mothers
I was going to say all these things. Only thing I would add is since you're going to put up gutters, why not run it into your watering troughs? May save some trouble later on. Really enjoy the videos. Started canning by myself this year and you were very helpful in the process. Thanks.
Kevin And Sara.....i just admire both of you.....the way you do and plan things.....so well-organized, your Homestead is clean too.....i am not even a homesteader, but i love watching your videos everyday, as well as two other more famous Homesteaders that I like.......May God grant you more abundant blessings in life.......
I love how you both upcycle & repurpose items. It is a great lesson to all on how to save money while keeping quality materials out of the landfill. "When you got a good gate, you gotta keep it!" ☺🐖🌻
I have noticed them in many of their recent videos. They must be a new addition to the equipment. I was hoping to see a list of the equipment they use but sadly they don't share that information. I would love to know more about the mics especially.
Who needs a gym membership when you have T bars to take out! I love how ya'll work together so well and even though ya'll are busy working, you still find time to laugh and have fun! Thanks for brightening our days!! God bless ya'll
I now use a small chain that Wanda wraps around the T post 3 times at the ground and use the tractor bucket to pull the T post. Works really fast very little physical effort needed. I kept waiting for a large rat to jump out when Sarah was raking the hay. Funny thing is the homestead will always change when it's a working one. That post driver is a life saver. I have to use the tractor bucket now that I've messed up my neck. Pray the pigs deliver safe and well.
You two work so well together ❤ my hubby and myself do okay but many times I'm sure its like watching Abbot and Costello! We joke that I'm the brains and he's thr brawn as I get a lot of weird ideas about building my gardens and fencing for the chickens, we'd lose them all by the end of the week if we free ranged them. But so far it works. Lovely pig pen !
I don’t know how many miles of fencing I have moved. A t post jack id awesome but a tractor is even better. Lived on a ranch for many years. I am so great full for anyone growing and raising food for the rest of the world. I thank each and every rancher and farmers for all the hard work you do. Thank you 🙏 thank you 🙏 thank you 🙏.
I know you probably get tons of advice on every video, but I do encourage you to consider building a creep area for the piglets that you can hang a heat lamp in. This will save them from getting crushed by the sow.
Love the way you work together no whining from Sara, she is right by Kevin's, side. I really like this channel. Sarah, you gave me a little chuckle when you put all your might into trying to get the post out.
The pig pen looks great! You did a great job taking all the older fencing off and redoing the pig stalls. That will be a good place for the pigs and their piglets to roam. I love your homestead! Thanks for sharing everything with us. Take care and God bless! 💜
Kevin Ive never seen a man so blessed a wife that cooks cleans and works side by side you and she has a sweetness about her that makes people like her and she cute good on you all God is on you side
Just have to add Sarah is a lucky lady to have Kevin also. He bakes, cooks, and is always respectful and listens to Sarah. But then they're both from Wisconsin. 😉 Guess where I live?
Hi Sarah and Kevin...We want to thank you for your wonderful channel. We feel like it’s a blessing to be able to watch your videos. We look forward each week to watching them and learning from you. We especially want to thank you for your closing statement of “God Bless You”. Thank you for sharing your lives with us. Mary Ellen and Doug
To work really well together I can tell there’s a lot of love between you two!😊❤️ My husband and I worked great together on our home projects and rental homes. You two Bring back great years past memories of my husband and childern ❤️🙏 God bless you and your family! Love your videos thank you for sharing I hope they never end 😊
I've had the same problem pulling posts with the puller. I feel like a 66 year old kid bouncing on the handle. Last time my husband just laughed at me and brought the tractor and chain. I was just trying to start a project while he was mowing.
5 yrs😳. That’s amazing!!! Sarah, I laughed so hard watching you try to work that post removal thingy😂. This old woman almost wet her pants🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣 You two are wonderful 😍
I love watching! I am from Missouri and used to spend summers at my Aunt & Uncle's farms in Chillecothe & Bogard. Brings back some very fond memories. Totally different world. I once hung onto the fence and watched their sow birth 23 piglets. It was so amazing as a city girl to witness. Thank you for your content!
You guys always do great for your animals. I can't wait to see the piggly wigglys 🐖🐷. I saw Kevin trying to help in that hay even though he's allergic right? Such a great husband. You guys make an incredible team!!
The teamwork between you two is impressive! I love your new area for the sows and piglets! I know they will have plenty of room to grow. I like that you gave the sows plenty of room to farrow in.
Sarah, you really tried to let that post know who’s boss, but it got the best of you! Your farrowing area looks really nice. It’s good how you plan out doing things while the weather is cooperative! We had never seen one of those power post drivers. That’s pretty awesome! You both work so well together. Love watching you! Thank you.
I got my husband to cut me some short pieces of that pipe strap so I could help out fixing fences. Ty for mentioning it awhile back while working on your chicken coops.
HELLO FROM HARMONY MAINE,!! We can not get post into the ground HERE,!! On TOP of a mountain and WE had to HAVE special post MADE out of TRUCK BRAKE ROTORS AND A 3/4" 8' LONG STEAL RODS WELDED INTO STUD BOLTS HOLES THEN BURYING THEM TO KEEP OUR CRITTERS INSIDE OUR FENCING WITH ROCKS TO HELP HOLD THEM INTO THE GROUND!! TRUCK WHEELS/RIMS WORK ALSO BY WELDING THE RODS INTO LUG HOLES IT WORKED HERE ON OUR HAPPY CAMPER COMPOUND!! ENJOY YOUR, DAY WE DO !! GOD BLESS EVERYONE HERE FOR WHATEVER MAY COME YOUR WAY!#
The goats we bought from you are doing GREAT!! We are preparing their kidding area like you're preparing a farrowing area! Our buck we found locally did his job. 👍👍♥️♥️
I love baby pigs! When I was in FFA; I won an award-for production and upkeep and health of the piglets. As every piglet was born, their umbilical cord was tied and dipped in iodine, and I clipped the very end of their needle teeth, this made nursing easier for the sow; and prevented the tusks from being a problem. The piglets look like they jettison around on stilts! They are so cute!!! Looks like y’all are getting ready, and getting a lot done. Are you going to build A frame farrowing houses? So looking forward to seeing the piglets born and grow! How are your parents liking being on the Homestead? Have the other 2 butcher hogs made it to freezer camp yet? Exciting times!!!
Kevin and Sarah you both are amazing people and do great team work. I absolutely love watching all that you both do and I have learned a lot.God Bless you all and stay safe and Healthy.
I added little pig rails around the farrowing pen so sows wouldn’t crush little pigs as they laid down to nurse. Finally built A frame single farrowing building but would let sows out twice a day for the first week. Plans came from Ag extension office in our state. They are portable and moved to different areas for next farrowing. After the first week sows and little pigs could enter and leave at will. Enjoy your videos.
Oh my! Every time you guys use that post puller, i so wish they had that back in the day we had our farm! What a blessing! Totally excellent job! Take care!
Hello to two very hard workers! You both are quite a team! You both have great support and ability to help for each other. Your accomplishments are amazing. It’s a pleasure to see all that you can do together!
Sarah that was a little funny when you tried to get the post. A woman after my heart , it's something I would do. You 2 work so hard and I love watching you 2. Stay safe
Congratulation on your first set of piglets. Thank you for sharing your homesteading experience, you are such an inspiration to the community. That fencing tools does an awesome job! Work smarter, not harder . Love it! Your body will thank you. It is a great relief to get those big ticket projects off the to do list before the weather turns. Nicely, done!
Your electric fence, low at the fence base is essential. I can tell you from experience. I bought two little brothers and a sister. I let the female piglet grow into a sow, and she had twelve little babies. I had a sturdy fence but the babies quickly got strong enough to lift up the base of the fence, squiggle under, and get out. Piglets are low to the ground, strong, and very strong willed. This was before electric fencing was available. I had to achor the base wire into the ground every two feet, all around the fence to keep them contained.
Good morning Kevin and Sarah, EXCELLENT job on the pig pins. Really looks great and should get the job done!! Thanks for sharing with us and bringing us along. 👍👍👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
It's great getting things ready ahead of time! Seems like I always had so much going on that I would usually get done about the minute the first sow started farrowing. Doesn't say much for my organizational skills. Lol. There were never enough hours in the day.
We plan to breed our Kune Kune pigs for the first time ever this year. I appreciate you all sharing this process so I may be better prepared when our time comes. You all are great. Y’all take care and god bless.

Again i say you two are great teammates. Awesome job. I see you both utilized your time wisely. How is the freeze drying going? There is a TH-camr Retired at 40 who has a bunch of videos on freeze drying. I enjoy your videos. Just seeing the two of you working together side by side brings joy to my heart. Wow! Lots of hard work in a short period of time! Quite an accomplishment! We know weather could be coming in any day, so better get it done while the sun shines!!
Usually, it's an 'insult' to say but...Now THIS...is a pigsty!!! WELL DONE! Just luv watching you two do little upgrade projects around the farm(s). One suggestion though...that gate that you brought back from Arizona needs a sign change or you will confuse many! Perhaps: 'WARNING: WATCH PIGS!' That otta do it! (LOL) Thank-you most kindly for sharing your time/talents with us. Health and God's continued blessings upon you n' yours! :)
Fabulous! It seems to take me forever to get the smallest of tasks done. But, Mark does work 60+ hours a week at his job, and I homeschool our young son, along with all the daily household stuff, farm stuff, and TH-cam stuff. I guess I shouldn’t be so hard on myself for not getting projects done in a fast manner, but I can’t help it 😂. I think I need about 2 more of me, 😂😂😂 , or hubby to get to become a full time homesteader...which is actually our goal...I enjoy watching you all get things done though. ❤️
WOW!! I wish I could drive a T post that easy!! They named my little area ROCKPORT {NJ Warren County} for a reason. A bygone port on the Morris Canal loaded with glacier rock! God Bless

This is a must!
You were so cute trying to pull the post out of the ground.
@ 4:41 LOL!
Yes I got a little giggle! Too funny!
Yes. Looked the way I do when I try to pull something out! 😂😂

Yes! .. have they ever done a video on the ''stuff'' they brought from AZ?
My wife and I were married 52 years and we always worked together. I enjoy you two working together.
Love that you have mics attached to ur hats. Wish other homesteaders used them. Also love how wholesome/hardworking you two are. True mentors. tyfs.
I have noticed them in many of their recent videos. They must be a new addition to the equipment. I was hoping to see a list of the equipment they use but sadly they don't share that information. I would love to know more about the mics especially.
@@hotstangchic69 Ask in an email and maybe that will be a question they answer on their next Q & A video.
@@gelwood99 Good idea. Thanks for that.
I was wondering what those things were.
@@hotstangchic69 try following their Amazon store link in the description. They usually list all the things they use in there.

Yes chain and tractor bucket are the only way to go especially as I get older and the animal and garden needs change!
Hahaha I was just going to mention how Deep South Homestead does it but he beat me to it! 😆
My hubby and I use a large chain and a huge floor jack that he picked up somewhere.
Deep South Homestead is my other favorite YT homesteading channel. Love them!
Watching the sun set over the autumn/winter Ozarks mountains.....priceless. God is, indeed, great!
I never saw a gas powered post driver before. Wow what a handy, incredible tool.
You two work so hard...it all looks great 👍 Greetings from Western Australia 🇦🇺👋
I hope those people that dream of a homestead watched this to see how much work it is to live on a homestead !
You two work so well together ❤ my hubby and myself do okay but many times I'm sure its like watching Abbot and Costello!

Panels look so much cleaner than rolled fencing. It's looking great.
You two make an amazing team! I love watching you work together on projecets.
I know you probably get tons of advice on every video, but I do encourage you to consider building a creep area for the piglets that you can hang a heat lamp in. This will save them from getting crushed by the sow.
I noticed the sound quality from the new mics and sounds good really like it 👍🏻 👍🏻 👍🏻
Love the way you work together no whining from Sara, she is right by Kevin's, side. I really like this channel. Sarah, you gave me a little chuckle when you put all your might into trying to get the post out.
It's rather funny that watching you work on your dream relaxes me....I picture myself in your position, as I love being in my yard.
Kevin and Sarah, you’re such a good team. Such a pleasure to watch. Love your videos and look forward to them every day!! ❣️♥️❣️🙏🏼♥️❣️♥️

The new farrowing area looks wonderful. The t post driver really does save time. Great purchase, especially for your health.

I have great Pyrenese and nothing bothers even my baby chicks and piglets that run around in the pasture. I couldn’t manage without them
Howdy from west Texas! You two work well together and see much accomplished. Will be curious to see the pigs when they arrive.
You all be making sure everything stay straight up. You are some awesome caretakers for your farm.
Your hog pen looks great!🙂 Praise the Lord for the good weather.🙂
I got my husband to cut me some short pieces of that pipe strap so I could help out fixing fences. Ty for mentioning it awhile back while working on your chicken coops.
Whoever came up with that fence post puller was a genius. Been around farms my whole life and never seen one.

Hi, beautiful family! You're a real inspiration for lots of people. All the best from London! 👍🍀💗
We had to fence in 13 acres and our gas powered post pounder was a life saver! Best tool we have ever bought...lol
Hello Kiddo's Nice work !!!! WE got 5 Hog's in cold room man a lot of work for this old Marine ...God Bless you all !! the old Marine Homestead

Congratulation on your first set of piglets. Thank you for sharing your homesteading experience, you are such an inspiration to the community. That fencing tools does an awesome job! I love watching you two working together ,you’re so easy to watch so soothing and pleasant ! Thank you for the great videos
What a great team. Looks so good.
Love your channel. 😊💕🙏🏻
I very much enjoy your videos. You’ll make me wish for my younger days when I was full of spunk!
Excited to see the first little piglets in there. Great job. God bless.❤️🐷
What a lovely place for the pigs to live!
Glad to see you growing and teaching still God bless. I miss your goats that is why I first started watching but you still I am liking the videos.
Good morning. Always fun to see you two working together
Good morning Kevin and Sarah, EXCELLENT job on the pig pins. Really looks great and should get the job done!! Thanks for sharing with us and bringing us along. 👍👍👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
Another great video, glad the weather held out for this project.
I just love how you , two work so good together! It is beautiful!!!
It's great getting things ready ahead of time! Seems like I always had so much going on that I would usually get done about the minute the first sow started farrowing. Doesn't say much for my organizational skills. Lol. There were never enough hours in the day.
Great progress for one day. The hogs are going to like it!! God bless.
Y'all are living my dream life.
Lol ❤️
Awesome watching you work together as a team!

I learn from you guys every time I tune in! Thank you so much for documenting this lifestyle and always giving much needed encouragement and hope!
Great usage of the plumber's tape instead of staples. I enjoy learning so much from you two...helps to see new ideas foreign to me put into use.
Great video, Kevin and Sarah. Always enjoy.
Thank you for sharing how you repurposed your goat barn. I enjoy your projects and seeing your homestead grow.
Your “Plumbing hanger” is called plumber’s tape. Just so you know. You’re awesome.
May God continue to bless you and your family and all those that you hold dear in your heart. Thank you for sharing

Wow! Lots of hard work in a short period of time! Quite an accomplishment! We know weather could be coming in any day, so better get it done while the sun shines!!
Sarah you are so cute, love both of your workmanship

Wish that post driver was available years ago. My Dad had a old piece of long pipe to put post in the ground. Love watching your all videos.
You are such a good team I love watching you both love and stay safe from England so glad Kevin mum and dad are with you now x
Sara! I was shocked when I saw you trying to pull those posts. Girl, you recently had surgery! You need to be more careful! Let Kevin do that!
The surgery wasnt that recent and she has been cleared to fully resume her daily tasks.
You folks work so well together, I find these videos both relaxing and informative. P.S. cute dimples.
That t post driver is THE BEST. And having 2 people on the job is the way to go. You did it. Looks great.
WOW!! I wish I could drive a T post that easy!! They named my little area ROCKPORT {NJ Warren County} for a reason. A bygone port on the Morris Canal loaded with glacier rock! God Bless
I watched a family put in T posts with the bucket on the tractor. Was interesting to watch, took them an hour to do a long row.
You guys are amazing Id love to come visit and help and learn from an amazing couple like yourselves
Great job- great teamwork!! Blessings to everyone.
