☑️ Yeah, lots of torque, but low horsepower. For some reason they advertise large truck engines as well as all of ^these old stationary engines by their horsepower rating, even though it was by far the lower and least significant measure of power....
Cameron Paul got to know about ASMR. Yes, that's what happened! I had always thought of describing that tingling sensation but would only mention them goosebumps.
Wow, that's all the machines are so old. I really like this kind of machine. Thank you for uploading this video to the world. You can watch this video after the next generation. Really you are a wonderful person. Thank you again.
Great and reliable engines, we had many of these Blackstone and also Lister engines here in Argentina serving for years in ranches and factories all over the country.
+M773 Fine, how about "because lolz", maybe the V8 is more powerful, but I would probably still use this engine simply because it's more interesting to watch.
@semidiesel nice video , nice engine , and thanks for sharing this with the rest of the world ! Good Bless" I show this engine to my grandfhater and he cry like a litle boy wen he firs herd this beautiful sound ! He worked in a farm with this engine as a generator for 30 years .
This is one of the best antique engine sites on TH-cam great videos, but please be careful on how you are hand cranking, keep that thumb pulled back. I broke my wrist when I was a young man cranking an engine the same way, learned my lesson the hard way. On my bucket list to visit the museum someday. Phil
Way back in the summer of 1967, I got one of these Blackstones to run the lights on the cement pier on the island of Lavan in Iran, 26.797726,53.388504. Perhaps it's still there. Handstarts with 40°C in the shade, there was none, not funny !
My brother was telling me--he spent one year [early 1980s}as a station mechanic on one of the big properties in the kimberleys of wa--they had a blackstone pumping water out of a bore that had 80'000hrs on its hr clock and to that stage the head had not been off it at all.. I do not know where blackstones are made but they know what they are doing..
Where is the engine now ?? Love to own a great old engine even if I had to pay for one. Nice stuff. Not sure if I could crank over the brute now. But would love to try. Nice old stuff for sure. Peace too !!!!
Say goodbye to your arm! One day my engine that is similar to this started running backwards and knocked me down with the hand crank when trying to start it!!
We used these engines in our dairy farms in Argentina for forty years working almost non stop, never a problem tough and noble engines.
А что это за двигатель?
this is the kind of engine that i like! no cumputers, no electronics, just give them fuel and a spin and they just work non stop! I LOVE IT!!!

I used to work at the Blackstone factory in Stamford Lincolnshire UK in 1980. Still live 2 miles away.
The engine revving up feels somehow heavenly... Like something sprung up into life and activity...
Gives me goosebumps everytime I watch it :D
I think you reacted with ASMR
