Installed my switch yesterday, it works perfectly! I have never been good with wiring, but this video made it foolproof. Saved me the $400 USD that it would have cost me at the Jag garage across town. Thanks!
Alan, glad the video helped. Thank you very much for your gift. Very much
appreciated, regards Damian
Great video Damian. I am going to try this here in a couple of weeks once my switch arrives. Your step-by-step approach and visuals are consistently the best on TH-cam for XK8/R projects. Cheers!
Alan, thank you for the positive feedback. Good to know it’s worth while, regards Damian.
Hi Damian. All done on mine thanks! Not much space on mine to work with but it turned out great.
Many thanks for your video. You do us fellow owners a great service!
Andrew, glad you found enough 'room on the loom' to complete the job. Thanks again for your feedback and support, regards Damian
Thank you Damian, I was considering doing this mod, seeing this video, it now looks easier than expected. 👍👍
John, it had been on my list for quite some time. Surprisingly useful when you aren’t using the radio. Good luck with the mod, regards Damian
Thanks Damian. 🙏Looking forward to installing mine 😀
Roland, No problem, just a small mod but quite useful. I have been wanting to install for a while but didn't get around to it until now, regards Damian
Handy tip! Thanks :-)
@Hopgoodd, thanks for the feedback, regards Damian
Can you do a version for us colorblind folks? And no, I don't have any plausible suggestions on how that might be done.
It’s the wire going into pin 7 on the connector shown, per the wiring diagram RH1-7
Hillbilly, going to need to help of non-colour blind friend . Wouldn't recommend trial and error in this case, regards Damian
Hi Damian,
Great video as always - thank you. I am going to carry out this mod on the Stratstone over the holiday.
Just one question if I may. I note that the aerial motor has a 10amp fuse. So should I be using reasonably chunky wire and switch to cope with the current?
Andrew, thank you. The wire we interrupt is the signal wire from the back of the radio head unit and not the main aerial power. The signal wire and switch doesn’t need to be ‘chunky’ as not 10amps. Hope that helps, regards Damian
@@ODRModurol Ah of course! Thanks Damian. I will be converting the cigar lighter and changing some bulbs whilst the centre console is out. Thanks again, and a Happy, healthy and prosperous new year to you and your family.
@andrewgraham4838, Happy New Year to you and your family too, regards Damian
