Very helpful, thank you. I did the Stop command as part of the original button press routine and it worked (separate routine to stop didn't work for whatever reason) Alexa will: 1) Alexa, show me the doorbell 2) Wait 30 seconds 3) Alexa, stop
It used to work for me, but somehow it Echo show does not respond now.. it just tries to ring the doorbell and it stops and does not show. If I manually run the routines then it all works.. but at the press of door bell no response
This is the exact same thing that is happening to my mom’s blink doorbell and Alexa Echo Show 8 (3rd Generation). My Blink doorbell with my Alexa Echo Show 8 (1st Generation) program routine works though. Were you able to solve the problem?
@@creativologist1813 I have the same problem, I bought it last year and use it with the Echo Show 8 (2nd gen). I tried adding a 10-second delay because the doorbell records the event and when it's busy it doesn't show live footage. In some cases, it worked, but then it didn’t show anything. This is because people tend to press the doorbell more than once, so it ends up recording for 20 seconds. Additionally, I feel like when someone moves in front of the camera, the recording extends, which is why it also doesn’t respond.
Hi, perfect timing. I’ve just bought a Blink! All good, but the custom Wait routine doesn’t work on mine. It will show when pressed, but video doesn’t stop after the wait time.
Great Video! Have a question. Can it be setup go automatic go live view in more than one device? I have an Echo Hub and an Echo Show 5 upstairs and would like it to show automatically in both devices.

I have set up a routine to display the live view of my doorbell when motion is detected. It works, however the footage is not being recorded. Does anyone know how to fix this?
On the echoshow 15, when it comes to the end of 45 seconds, it hangs, with the' waiting for blink ' is the echoshow 15 not compatible with doorbell press live stream ?
So if i get the Blink wireless doorbell and 2 motion cameras, it will detect and show all 3 when motion is detected at each? Also can I use the wireless doorbell with some sort of chime box so I don't need to connect to my old 1970 chime? I want to leave my existing old doorbell in incase this fails. Also cant text voltage because cant find the old transformer should it need upgrading.
Hi, the last step does no work for me it stays on. It does not go off after 20 sc. Also, you didn't show it working in the video. Does that work for you?
Delete and add new routine like this and adjust time accordingly you need just one routine to start and stop streaming Wait 15 seconds "Alexa, show me doorbell " Wait 1 minute =B "Alexa, hide doorbell"
I actually have the opposite issue, my Echo Show automatically opens the camera when someone rings the doorbell, but I would like to just get the notification instead. Is there a way to do that?
@@DanielWestowI figured something out, I disabled the doorbell notifications on my Echo show, and added an automation to make it say “someone is at the door” and make doorbell sound ever time the doorbell is pressed.
This is weird. I couldn't get it to show the love view through the routine in the video. But then I set my show 8 (3G) to do not disturb and it worked. 😢

Alexa will:
1) Alexa, show me the doorbell
2) Wait 30 seconds

Thank you so much for this. I have found the whole blink experience really poor so far and wish I had found this video sooner!
To make it work I changed the command to “Alexa Stop Front door” where front door is the name of my blink device. Then it stops the video streaming.

Me too. Try adding WAIT command before show me the door. It worked when I added 5 to 10 second delay otherwise the routine just cut off.
Same is happening to me
@@Thefantasyboy276 Did you try my suggestion?

Yes, creat routine for each device you. Need to 2 routine

Did you get anywhere with this? I'm having same issue, thanks!

Doe sit work with the echo show 3rd Gen? I was reading the echo show 5 3rd Gen doesn't work with blink or any alexa camera as the previous version😅
It does. I use mine with a 3rd gen show 5.
I tried this setup with my Blink Camera. I get detection et al; but I can’t my Echo Show to make any announcements.

Some how camera does works on my echo 8 i can open with the routine only on my alexa app.
Anyone suggest anytime?
So does it run from the app, but not the doorbell is pressed?

Hi you can use a standard echo as a chime if this helps. Or you could get a cheap Echo Pop or similar.

After fiddling about for ages with routines, I think I might have solved this problem for me. Try putting "Alexa, Home." At the start of your routine.
