    You made it the entire Intra-coastal water way without having to be towed. This is okay. I love your videos please keep sharing.

    All things considered, a relatively inexpensive 'lesson.'

    Reminds me of an adventure a few years ago, 2010 l think. Arrived at my chums house on merrite Island. The plan was to sail to the Bahamas via the ICW got down to the weat Palm Beach , coming out of the inlet the engine stopped and we couldn't start it so a decision has to be made sail on to the Bahamas or back to Port Canavial . Canavial, it took us 2 days to sail back up the ocean. Arrived in the dark, and as we sailed into the port ( no engine ), hundreds of people lining the sides of the harbour, unbeknown to us, the reason was a night launch from the space centre, if you ever get a chance to see one go over there .
    Next morning, US towboat take us back across the banana River into the badge canal back to my chums marina, quite an adventure.

    I have to admit I would have been in the same position. We have Towboat US (the gold package) for our big boat, and I was under the impression that it also covered any boat I was driving. Good too know it doesn't.

      @AdventuresofHappyOurs  ปีที่แล้ว +2

      If you have the gold card coverage you are good with any boat you drive. If you just have regular insurance with them through Geico, just the insured boat is covered.

    Well that sucked-but you had friends and cold beverages so it is what it is.Tow boat/Sea tow is the 1st thing you get after buying and registering a boat. It’s the best $199 you’ll ever spend as a boat owner.It’s good you did the repair yourself or that would’ve turned into the better part of a Grand…you know how it adds up quick. Hopefully you’ll recoup it doing some rentals

      I mistakenly though my toe coverage for the big boat covers me on any boat but as I learned I t didn’t. It’s not the same as the tow card. So now I have both.

    Oh no! We had to get towed back in from Gasparilla Sound because of a stuck impeller and it was only $1200! Now we have insurance as well… I feel your pain.

    I’m surprised that nobody passing by offered to help. Maybe it’s a Florida thing…glad that it was a cheap fix after the towing fee

      No one offered. I don’t know if I would accept it though. It’s asking a lot.

    Wait what? You mentioned getting towed the first time you took your Crownline out. We had a similar experience last year when we first took possession of our 04 Chris Craft 33 Express - we crossed the Chesapeake and 2 miles short of our new home marina BOTH engines failed - one fuel pump and the other an alternator and we had to get towed in. Bummer for you on what looks like a basically new outboard.

    • @AdventuresofHappyOurs
      @AdventuresofHappyOurs  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Both minor issues. Pontoon fuel bulb went bad and the Crownline had a bad impeller that overheated engine. Aren’t boats fun.

    Does not your boat insurance cover emergency tow in. I heard that in the USA the coast guard will not tow you in where here in Canada they will tow you back to the nearest port free of charge. What does TOWBOAT US charge for insurance for a year

    • @AdventuresofHappyOurs
      @AdventuresofHappyOurs  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      TowBoatUS is about $150/year for unlimited towing. I thought it was covered by the insurance in my other boat but it wasn’t.

    • @geagar3647
      @geagar3647 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@AdventuresofHappyOurs Here if we break down we just radio the Canadian Coast guard and they will come and tow us back to our dock or nearest port ,free of charge.

    • @AdventuresofHappyOurs
      @AdventuresofHappyOurs  ปีที่แล้ว

      It is if you pay for the unlimited towing card. I just had the regular liability insurance with Happy Ours that only covered that boat. Misunderstanding on my part.
