You can absolutely save the Sunbeam. In order to do it, you need cure the virus before the Sunbeam is to arrive. Then the wreckage of the Aurora is too dense around the planet to land safely
Dont be scared about the music, it's just like minecraft's cave sounds that makes you stress out for nothing, but they do represent the kind of danger you can encounter lol
You probably know this already but, for future reference The lantern fruit, Chinese potatoes, and marble melon is a valuable food resource. A little tip if you go back to the degasi base island.
Also gel sack (he got 1 in a capsule) are great for bioreactor, can grow em in bulk & only take 1 slot & provide over 200 energy each. (and soem food/water)
I believe if you go to the gun fast enough and your not infected you can turn the gun off but then the sunbeam won’t rescue you, they just leave you. Also great video I love this series so far!!!
I'm really suggesting you to plant some stuff that you can't get around your base (like blood oil, white mushrooms, gel sack etc.) because Exterior Growbed is cheap to build and it's really practical.
It is possible to save the Sunbeam. To do so, you need to stop listening to your radio before they tell you about the rendezvous, and then disable the cannon. Afterwards they will tell you the meet up location, but something will go wrong and they will leave without you.
Loving your content! Don't forget to build up a garden, both interior and exterior, with gel sacs and the fruiting trees from the islands. It's the cheapest way to make bioreactor fuel.

Should just get a outdoor grower that sits in the water and just grow it. Like many other plants you can do with the mushrooms. Then if you have dry land you can do potatoes and other stuff that doesn't need efficient amount of water covering it

Below zero would of been a good one to play for that 'itch.' The story is pretty extensive too but the biomes look amazing and more indepth than Subnautica 1. All great games in the end nevertheless!
Yeah if you disable the gun by basically beating the game with out pressing the radio at all and then you activate the sunbean the gun will not shoot but the sunbean will say :there's to much like stuff in the atmosphere and cant pass through" and they will leave you here but they survive 👍
Unfortunately, you are unable to prevent Sunbeam's demise. Disabling the weapon requires you to be safe from the infection. Even if you go to the island at the very beginning of the game, it is programmed to infect anyone who comes close. It would be an amazing alternate ending if you could disable the weapon and save Sunbeam, but alas, it is not a possibility. 😔
Why haven't you built a base yet? That's like the first thing i think you should do. And it feels like you are pretending to not know things that you know. Either way i will keep watching this series even tho i get really frustrated-for some reason

Kind of sucks the game never tells you what that radio message is from (warpers) so you dont realize they are observing you and reporting on you to the rest of the warper network (they are bio-mechanical units that are to quarantine infected creatures by warping em somewhere). Also syn if you liked the doomsday log should read log for the ion cube. (basically a small nuke)

Marblemelons have been my main food source for years, they're so underrated.

Even if you somehow deactivate the big gun, the Sunbeam will not land and save you. They will say that they cannot land and leave you for dead.

You can grow the blood kelp near you base with outdoor planters to keep have to run back and forth

I believe the blurriness is from the laser super heating the air, causing a mirage effect.
According to Reddit it’s a visual bug caused by motion blur. It wasn’t always like that
