We do have rights, and I pray this cuit goes as far as it can, so We The People can at least start to see some type of Justice and Accountability to those in Authority, who abuse our Constitutional rights. He never found out the amendment was denied and never had the chance to appeal that denial. Furthermore, the AG told them to get judicial approval prior to destroying the crop. When they asked a judge for permission, the judge said, "not without a hearing." Then, they went to a magistrate for an arrest warrant. Man, was this a major malfeasance of justice on the part of SLED, the state AG, SCDA, the Dorchester County Sheriff's Office and even SC Forestry. I hope that Trent eventually wins his civil suit against all these entities and the individual officials who conspired against him. I hope that a win in the civil case would lead to criminal charges coming down too against some of the principals in the case. That probably won't happen because SLED and the AG are the state's top cops. That's a case of who polices the police? I also hope that people in South Carolina push their legislators to not only allow for medicinal pot but eventually recreational pot as well. The biggest lie in law enforcement in roughly the past 100 years is the supposed evils and dangers of pot.

Something similar happened to me in Texas. I had a license to do whatever it was that I was fined for (it's not important for this purpose what that was). Yet I was fined (not arrested) for operating without a permit. All during the process, they kept re-enforcing the FACT that I was obligated under the permit that I DID have. So I exercised THAT and continued to operate. The original fine was $10,500 for (get this) "Operating without a permit". Some governmental departments have far too much power. And that power violates the rights of citizens without due process. I complained to the inspectors' Boss and that person referred my case back to the person I was complaining about for review. Guess what happened. I paid the fine. When the people fear their government, there is tyranny.

He was granted a license for that specific area only. There is a provision for farmers to apply to move to another property location in these situations. However you have to do it before you plant to get approval. He did not do that. He planted then applied. As he did not comply with the rules he was denied the amendment. He chose to apply to plant the crop, and everything that goes with it, all the rules and regulations. He also chose to break those rules and regulations. and paid a price.
