Yeah, I don't think the "indie" part denotes it in any way inferior. If anything, I think its a badge of honor. Especially considering it was early games like this that really helped carve out the modern indie market in the first place.

I always considered labrynth fight to be curly's theme, and this one to be curly and quotes theme. Because this fight is probably their most personal, they were created to destroy the demon crown and this is the only true way to do it
I agree. This whole theme sounds less like Curly and a lot more like "the odds are against us, but we have to succeed. This is what we were made to do." I also associate Running Hell with Ballos a lot, due to actually learning about him here and all. That dangerous/tragic sound of the first part fits him well, and the heroic later parts cheer the player on to finally put an end to the cycle.

Running hell is one of the reasons why Cave Story is one of my all time favourite games I do really hope to get some Last Battle action some time in the future, since that one is such a banger
I KNEW IT! The silhouette for this one was bothering me SO MUCH because I knew I recognized it! And then I made the assumption that it was this, and I guessed right!
The original game was freeware! You can download it pretty easily, so by all means go and find out! There's also a version on Steam that costs a small fee, but comes with some additional content like upgraded graphics, 60 FPS (Freeware is capped at 50), additional side content challenges, and alternate remixed soundtracks. Oh also there's a version on Switch but it's basically the steam version with 2 new soundtracks and local multiplayer Co-op (Don't ask me how that works in a singleplayer metroidvania, because I don't know)
I got a physical sensation that shot through my whole body when I listened to this. The Cave Story soundtrack was some of the first music I EVER started listening to, and running hell was my favorite track of the whole OST. I was 8 or 9 years old when I played the game, and I listened to the soundtrack on my cruddy Sandisk mp3 player that I had at the time. This cover gives me feelings that are indescribable through words. Thank you for this awesome cover Jonny.

I have played through this game multiple times and it still baffles me how this can be called "Curly's Theme" when there are much better songs to represent her character. Still, Running Hell is one of my favorite tracks in any video game, and this cover does not disappoint. Keep rocking, my dude.
