@@charliegraham2789 Basim is the body reincarnated, Nehal/Loki is the soul trapped within the machine. Its not difficult to work out, Odin and Eivor were the exact same, a body and a soul.
this whole plot reminds me a lot of Legion (his dead friend who appears to him actually isn’t real and is actually a parasite who wants to take over his body)
If only he didn't embrace loki in that way, so that loki takes control. Basim's mannerisms changed which what led me to believe that loki is semi controlling the body. If Basim had faced his fear with the jinni beforehand without opening the isu door, I wonder if basim could have remained in control whilst also having a resident isu in his subconscious. He would have been a great master assassin that was very likeable and not two faced.
If Basim would've not opened that pod chamber in that underground Isu temple, he could have remained in control, but that would pay the price. No matter how hard he'll try to resist the jinns in his nightmares, it will grow much more worse, it's like they're prompting Basim to take his revenge on Odin as soon as he can, they are trying to fill him up with that anger and vengeance because of what his tormentors had done to his Isu counterpart, cus' that is what Loki was planning to do. "I will find you Mad One, on the far side of our doom." That was Loki's vengeance on Odin, on the far side (after their extinction, post-Great Catastrophe era) where he reincarnates as Basim.
True. Tbh if Roshan didn't lie to him and was truthful with him, then he wouldn't have chosen the merge. But given that things unfolded the way they did, he accepted it as he was emotionally compromised by the games ending.
What a lot of people are getting wrong is that sages are reincarnations of isu people. And when sages memories come back they aren’t like separate people but memories that are slowing returning. For example it’ll be like if you had amnesia and then someone tells you about your old life and the memories start coming back. People think it’s another person taking over when in reality it’s just the old you’s memories returning and it’s up to the sages to do what they want with said memories. Basim accepted Loki and let his old memories decide what he will do. Basim is still basim just a little different.
Eivor literally had to battle Odin for control of the body. Later on he manages to discover a method where he can talk with Odin so he may understand him but also safely keep him from absorbing his conscience.
I think in the begining of fusion with loki he is still basim but different. You can see him calling older assassins his mentor like he forgot about roshan. Enkidu see him like different person, like enemy. But later in my opinion loki is taking control over basim body completly.
Eivor fighting with Odin is for me only in her imagination. Its an internal struggle, a fight against herself. Against old memories. You cant see in peoples minds. So Ubisoft decided to show it that way. Same with Nehal and Basim. Roshan told Basim not to enter the room because he has a choice to choose who he wants to be (in this new life) but Basim lived in the past, the whole game. A trauma he got from Odins torture. Odin and Nehal are memories of Eivor and Basim who want to be accepted. First Eivor didnt want to know anything about what happens in the past. Later at the End of Valhalla, she accepted it a little bit. She remembers Ragnarok but has no words to describe it exactly. The talking between two "persons" is in my opinion a metaphor.
Basim is physically Basim, but his whole personality has been taken over by Loki by Valhalla. He still has Basim's memories. Its the exact opposite of Desmond, instead of the bleeding effect giving him ancestor's memories, Loki got Basim's memories and body.
I’ve seen a lot of people with mixed feelings about this ending, completely understandably bear in mind, however I think there are a couple of important things that people are missing. 1) Basin’s story started in Valhalla, and whatever your thoughts on that game, and this game serves to tell the origin. In a way, this game always had to end with the Loki reveal due to it being such a massive part of his character. We all knew they would address it, if they hadn’t it would’ve been very strange. This game addresses how sages work in universe, but unfortunately banks on whether the player actually likes the concept of sages outside of Aita like the Norse sages that were introduced in Valhalla. 2) The role of the order of ancients and the Templar orders are very different. This isn’t helped by the games in though as Ubisoft like to treat them mechanically as the same thing. However Valhalla separated them from each other, the Templar order being what came after the dissolution of the order of ancients due to Aelfreds hatred for their worshipping of the isu and what they left behind. The Templar’s seek control of the world under a single banner, whereas the order use their control and status towards their ends. (Another thing I’d like to add that’s unrelated is when Nur says “revenge is not our way” when the entire creed was formed by two who were consumed by vengeance, which you could either interpret as the irony of the creed or the point of it, being to let go and commit to something greater than yourself). There I closed the damned bracket😂
The ending is too subtle. There should be some handholding atleast. Many people are playing this after Syndicate or Origins. People skipped Odyssey and Valhalla. They won't have a clue of what's happening
@@supergirlvideoclips894 They will when playing Valhalla, matter of fact, if you start with Mirage then with Valhalla, Basim's revenge arc is much more meaningful.

Ezio, Altair and Desmond were the only ones who got proper endings, while still continuing the overall story in a fine manner. Both Altair and Ezio knew someone else would pick up were they left of, Altair died in the vault by his own blade, while Ezio knew Desmond was watching and concluded that he has fullfiled his role and duty to his family's legacy and thus decided to live for himself and walked away to his happy ending. Desmond then concluded his arch that was built over 4 games and chose to die for the future of humanity. You could argue that Edward and maybe Arno got a good ending too. But Arno's was still in the realm of the hero who has now accepted his destiny, only at the end of the game. He was still in his 20s by the time the game ended, while Ezio was when his story concluded 51 in Revelations...

Only Basim learnt the ending. They didn't show us anything. If you haven't finished Valhalla, you will have no idea what happened. Atleast a small summary scene showing what happened with Odin, Loki and others would have appropriate.

Ahhhh this makes what happened w Eivor and Odin make so much more sense to me, when Eivor was fighting Odin at the end I’m guessing that was him rejecting “fusing” w Odin and remembering who he was.
Yeah, because Eivor knew what Odin had done and refused to be consumed by Odin's memories (Basically also wanting Eivor to stay in Valhalla, which in reality it is all just a simulation). Basim and Loki's situation is a different one. But at the end in Valhalla, Basim realizes that Eivor's connection with Odin is entirely different from Basim's connection with Loki, meaning that Eivor refuses to be consumed by Odin's memories, but instead learn from them
At the end of Valhalla of you see the Last Chapter memories. Eivor finally came to peace with Odins memories and accepted Odin was part of her. In the Vinland part in particular she is fully aware of Odin and openly learning from him peacefully. So while he never accepted Odin as herself and cast aside her own identity the Basim did preferring to be Loki. She stopped denying Odin
@@PrincessSneakyComputerYes. Later Eivor accepted a little bit her past as Odin. Slowly and carefully. She remembers Ragnarok but she had no words for it. The talking between two "persons" are a metaphor for me. To show internal thoughts etc. Odin mentioned the Solar Flare. In reality its a thought, a memory in Eivors own mind. But Odin had problems to explain it. Its because Eivor has to remember it more. Its because she refuses her memories to much.
I think this journey that Basim is going through it’s a journey of finding out who he is who he was in his past life overcoming his fears and confronting his demon the jinni. Nehal What’s like his spirit guide or truly maybe she was a Loki reincarnated as well but I’m so glad that he has come all this way and now he’s finally who he really, his finally whole again.
I am painstakingly playing valhalla and actually understand wtf is going on with bassim and his story. The bad thing is valhalla is just too long i hate it until sigurd story starts then it becomes interesting
I think this represents the punishment of loki from norse myth. Loki was bound to a stone in a cave for killing baldur and had a serpent above him drip venom onto him. Most likely the jailer here is Odin
Many people may overlook this, but the guardian or these moments of Loki's de-confinement may be Sigyn or an allusion (like the Nornir were for the calculations). Although in myth her visits bring him moments of relief as she was witholding the snake's poison, they also mean torture as once filled, venom was supposed to pour heavily at his face. There we have a tortured and torturer relationship.
So Eivor is the Allfather while Basim is the Trickster God. Well it wasn't a surprise at all since it has been revealed back at Valhalla. But this game reveal how he become the Villain he would be at Valhalla.
I agree with the rest here that they should've shown a scene with the aesirs to give context. It's hard to make sense of without knowing Basim's backstory from AC Valhalla
When I saw the isu holographic projection I thought it was showing more of loki killing Heimdall to then use the isu machine to transfer his essence too basim.
i just finished valhalla. 185 hours. dawn of ragnarok about to start, seems quite large. i dont have druids and conquest of france whatever it's name is but I can see whole of valhalla taking 250-300 hours. yet another DLC would have taken it to ~330... that's quite a game ... i think it would stunt the sales if it was just DLC. in fact whole odin/loki plot and part og the game should have been another large game beside valhalla being just about conquest of earthly kingdoms
Roshan tried to control Basim and she was right, Basim did lose himself. He is free from the pain and struggle, but he is no longer free in the sense of choices, it's like he gave himself up because he was constantly tricked and tortured to say yes to Loki all the damn time so no more nightmares and confusion, but he unleashed Loki to the new world (which can mean Valhalla storyline and/or the present day)
They don’t even know what they want to tell you. In Valhalla Eivor freed himself from Odin. In this game they make you think that basim is doing the right thing, but he is surrendering himself to a man(loki) who only wants revenge.(spoiler: he fails) Ubisoft doesn’t even know what they want to tell you

Given that he never says his name, i felt that the game "assumes" you've played Valhalla and that was a letdown. I really would have liked them to delve deeper into the Loki persona as the Djinn, the djinn could have had conversations with Basim etc instead of just lerking in the shadows. The Djinn could still have been presented as horrifying for Basim but they could have given us more information through out the game. I also felt that the masked Order members were unmasked and they were just some random guys we haven't met at all prior to that point. It would definatly have been better if atleast ONE of them had been someone Basim met during the game and had some encounters with? Hell, even someone who, prior to their reveal as a member, had some ideological disputes with Basim. Not to mention the lack of what used to be the other half of the game (the present), i mean we have Basim as the main character now, why not give us anything more of him in the present after Valhalla? They could have made us play as William Miles and have some scenes with Basim in the present, making vauge comments regarding Nehal etc (SPOILERS: also making her a Tyler Durden manifestation of Loki was a brilliant nod to Loki being genderfluid in the norse mythology :P). Anyways, overall i liked the game. These smaller, more character driven stories are nice and fun. I do like the Origins/odyssey/Valhalla era but i also loved the older games more character driven story arch.
it’s a $40 game that the original idea for was going to be a DLC for valhalla. mirage is the same kind of game as rouge, just telling you what happened prior.
Stop it with the "he can shape shift so that means he's gender fluid/non binary" nonsense. They did the same thing with morph in x men and it's obvious the only reason was his power.
Well. Nehal is likely a split personality of Loki’s containing his memories and all the torment, pushed aside from the infants mind as it would not of been able to comprehend it… her appearing is something known as the tulpa phenomenon… the empty man movie is a good example, while similar it has heavy differences. Basim was always Loki, just with amnesia more or less. And before you say he doesn’t use Loki anymore, names don’t really matter all that much, to some I get it, they do. Yet that’s people placing their whole persona to that name. As to the eagle’s disagreement…. That is a thing, it’s a very sad thing when a pet can’t recognize their owner.. but it is a thing. Now as for the cage, he was never really contained in their, as with Eivor and the others, they used the machine to transition beyond whatever chains that held them to the plan so they could be resurrect. Let’s see what comes next.

@@rjbruh1614 Yes !Basim wholeheartedly embraced his inner self, a decision often misunderstood when people claim Loki took control. It's not about dominance; it's about self-realization. One cannot truly become themselves while neglecting a part of who they are. Eivor, in the final chapter of AC Valhalla, exemplified this by acknowledging her Odin side instead of running from it. Basim chose to embrace his Loki side because he saw its suffering and found purpose within it his purpose. In contrast, Roshan upon Basim's joining the hidden Ones, aimed to bury his past, but Basim sought to uncover his own history, yearning for completeness. In summary the key difference between Basim and Eivor lies in the pace of their self-discovery. Basim embraced his Loki side more swiftly, just as Eivor eventually embraced her Odin side Later on . It's crucial to note that no one is taking over anyone's memories; it's a balanced 50- 50 proposition One can either ignore or accept their other side, without coercion. In Basim's case, he saw the brokenness in his Loki side and chose to embrace it I cannot simplify it further than this....
This is young Basim (His age is 17 here, which is ridiculous cus' he looks like a man in his mid 20s. His age is 33 in Valhalla, but he looks like a man in his mid or late 40s or something)

This is getting ridiculous. Basim and loki are one being, not two. Basim simply remembers who he actually is now. Honestly you people would consider someone with memory loss as a new individual!? It's just a mad house in this community these days.
this probably would have went better for basim if roshan wasn't so stuck up about him learning more about himself since he felt more lost as time went on

The ending is ugly, yes, but there's no denying that Basim is the reincarnation of the Isu Loki and he cannot escape his jinni nightmares (Loki's suppressed memories of himself being tortured) without fully embracing Loki's memories. Eivor's situation is different. Though Eivor is the reincarnation of the Isu Odin, Eivor doesn't suffer from any nightmares until Eivor and Sigurd reached that point where Odin forces Eivor to stay in Valhalla (which could mean he wants Eivor to have his memories), but Eivor refused because she/he (Depending which gender of Eivor you choose) know what kind of god Odin is, and realizing Valhalla was just a simulation made by the Isu, and refused to be his pawn, and Eivor chose her friends and family instead

This is what the fourth or fifth time that someone has “discovered the truth”? I haven’t played a assassin’s Creed game since the release of assassin‘s Creed rogue. But honestly, I don’t really like the direction things have gone, especially after they killed off Desmond. I understand they wanted to get more characters and all that. But I really liked the whole genetic memory thing. One thing that I think would’ve been a need idea is you could have a member of Absturgo find the little cubes of blood, and then they could put those in a version of the Animus and we could relive genetic memories from certain individuals that way. But unfortunately, that doesn’t seem to be the case anymore.

They should have did more With the flashbacks Instead of making it all secret and cryptic The only thing that would have been awesome in this game is if they would it took us back to Adam and eve And then with the North gods And that you can play as themTo see what the first civilization looked like Instead of them just tell stories And correct the messages like in the first assassin creed And I think in the second assassin creed game
If you look close you can see the Loki figure and the "Basim" figure on the ground in wearing the Valhalla ISU outfits. I wanted more from this game, and more direct connections but hey.

@@charliegraham2789 Basim is the body reincarnated, Nehal/Loki is the soul trapped within the machine. Its not difficult to work out, Odin and Eivor were the exact same, a body and a soul.
this whole plot reminds me a lot of Legion
(his dead friend who appears to him actually isn’t real and is actually a parasite who wants to take over his body)
But given that things unfolded the way they did, he accepted it as he was emotionally compromised by the games ending.
basim is loki, a reincarnated ISU and eventually humans will all die out and we will take our place as rulers of the world once again
he simply became what he was suppose to become. You can't fight your nature.
@@nymbus4376ever is Odin
My boy took the imaginary gf thing to a whole nother level

Thats the only reason why I hate AC games now. Just give us true endings. Or give us option when we start the game which would have only canon path.
@@rycerzgaming1363just curious but what’s wrong with this ending?
@@lewissamuel1541 It's yet another "this is not the end, but the begining"-end and we've had 10 of those by now.

Ahhhh this makes what happened w Eivor and Odin make so much more sense to me, when Eivor was fighting Odin at the end I’m guessing that was him rejecting “fusing” w Odin and remembering who he was.
Yes Evior never embraced his past like Basim did.

Poor Enkidu, he didn't recognize him as Basim anymore and lost a friend.
So Basim essentially hand held himself into having multiple personality disorder?
Roshan tried to control Basim and she was right, Basim did lose himself. Basim didn't loose himself, quite the opposite, he found out who he truly was and embraced It, he accepted that he was Loki

This bears a lot of resemblance to the ending of Valhalla. Especially at 9:51, when he walks through the gate, it reminds me of when Odin was beckoning Eivor to walk through the Yggdrasil gate in her mind, of course Basim didn’t need Loki to coax him through
Given that he never says his name, i felt that the game "assumes" you've played Valhalla and that was a letdown.

It's crucial to note that no one is taking over anyone's memories; it's a balanced 50- 50 proposition

So, Basim built Masyaf and Roshan is Altair's ancestor?
What? No
The “ibn La Ahad” title doesn’t mean they’re related. “Ibn La” is actually a misconstrued version of the Arabic surname “Bin”.
For example, 0$sama Bin L4d€n is named that because his grandfather is named Laden. If Altair’s father never passed away, Altair would be “Altair Bin Umar”. Roshan is referred to as “Bint La Ahad”, and Bint is simply used for females.
Ibn just means son of... and since Altair was an Orphan he is son of no one (ibn la ahad). Roshan was probably orphan or rejected her parents. They are not related.
Fun fact: Alamut was the Assassins' hideout in real history, led and mentored by Hasan Sabbah.
Remember when AC was about saving the world from annihilation and Desmond was the only one who could stop it. This story is all over the place. More questions now than ever before.
The story is great
Fuck me Roshan was Altair’s ancestor?
No
@@m.r4841how come, Roshan had the same fam name "bint la Ahad"
@@dennyfw”bint” means daughter of
“La” means no one
“Ahad” means one.
So “bint la-ahad” means daughter of no one
@@dennyfwbruh you do know people in irl and in games can have the same last names but not be related at all that’s like saying everyone with the last name Lincoln is a ancestor or descendant of old Abraham
@@shaheer1172 its funny, because i have thought if I was an Orphan in arabic life, then there would be no "bint..." in my last name suggesting i came as Orphan, or abandoned child, but thx for reply
SORRY, SORRY I haven't played the game yet but "Roshan bint-LA' AHAD"?! IS SHE RELATED TO ALTAIR?
Not the same name, Altair is Ibn-La'Ahad; meaning the son of no one
So Basim is Loki now what Next then ❓❤️🔥
Play Valhalla
Yield?! You rammed a kriffing knife in her chest! How is she not instantly dead!?
Shoulder, impact blunted by armor.
Still think Valhalla was better hope we get to see Odin and loki In future games

Wait... This that.... Altair!!?!??
15:15 nope bro, however Roshan perhaps had a family line connection to Altair, "bint... Ahad"

If only the Juno arc got half a decent ending as this game
Ain’t nothing but full metal alchemist brother god lives inside
This series needs Patrice Desilets back. It needs the engine of AC Unity, the parkour of AC Unity but the combat of AC Brotherhood, 3 and 4.
Also the story needs a reboot, cause killing Desmond off, then killing off Juno offscreen killed the story. The modern day story literally hit its peak in AC2 and Brotherhood and AC3.
Im confused what kind of ending it is? Too much questions?
Some explain, i finished the game but i didnt get what he discovered
Wait what?
Roshan bint-La'Ahad
Isn't La'Ahad Altair's Surname?
No, that's not how that worked. It just translates to "Son/daughter of no one". In this language the "surname" isn't the real name as we know it.
@@m.r4841 Good to know, i played all of them from Altair to Frye Twins but i did not immerse myself into lore of character names.
@@blaze8529 I don't blame you. The games doesn't explain that at all. I have a friend who's Arabian and he told me that.
@@blaze8529you should look into it. Every characters had their name choosen wisely based on their role or personnality
Is Roshan related to Altair cuse she has his last name of La Ahad
Ibn la ahad just means son of nobody. Is not a surname
Basim must be anti hero who ends abstergo or juno ...I think
If just by saying Loke has had many names and many faces, and hint at it, showing Loke from Valhalla, it'd link better to that game.
Honestly, it's a really well written ending.
AC 3 > Mirage.
ac3 negs
I was trying to figure out way did Basim turn on the brotherhood in AC Valhalla .Still idk and this is the shortest AC ever.
Oh its the old lady who smokes 80 sigs a day 😂
The truth is this man suffered a CTE, which explains why he was seeing someone who was not real
I expected more from the finale. It was lack luster. I guess even this Basim plot is gonna get thrown in the dustbin in the next game.
Desmond is emotion 😭😭
What's norse mythology has to do with Templar vs assassin story. Pls some one explain
What exactly do you want to know
@@Омойкороль-л3ф assassin creed is all about brotherhood vs Templar. Their ideologies were poles apart. So why bring in norse mythology. like Odin Loki fenrir
@@sabarinathan6554 it's not only about assassins vs templars. It's also about humans finding and using the legacy if the First Civilization (Isu), a species that were much technologically advanced than humans and created them. All prieces of Eden, temples are remnants of the precursors that were remembered as gods by humans, many powerful isu warlords and scientists (like Jupiter, Juno, Minerva, Durga, Consus and others) become inspiration for humans myths and legends.
Loki, Fenrir and Odin were isu themselves, just like Minerva, Jupiter and Juno in early games. The mythological segments in Valhalla are dreams and visions of Eivor who is a genetic reincarnation of Odin (it means that Eivor's DNA has Odin's genetic memories and traits). But because Eivor's medieval mind cannot comprehend technologically advanced isu society, in Eivor's dreams the first civilization appears with mythological imagery and technology appears as magic.

Confusing ending. And the worst part of this game is dind't show us nothing about Basim intentions at Modern Day Storyline... I think who ended the Vahalla at least expected something about that Storyline... Shame Ubisoft... 😢
I’m pretty Ubisoft aren’t done with Basim’s story considering he is a modern protagonist now they are kind doing the same thing they did with Ezio like how they gave Ezio a trilogy they are going to give Basim his own although it isn’t confirmed but Ubisoft did hint that they do in fact have ideas of how to extend Basim’s story
@@nemesis387 Sure thing, they definitely haven't stopped here. Because I believe Ubisoft should also start considering and making it a reality to step out of their comfort zone and give us players more, especially regarding the storyline of the game in the "Present." Basically, Mirage feels like a continuation of Valhalla, and after that ending, there really should be an explanation for it!
At the moment, Ubisoft also isn't having the best reputation in terms of good games and good story developments, especially since they fired the creator of the Saga, Patrice Desilets; it's never been the same since.
Let's wait and see what happens next...
Sooo, where was all this time and effort to make a vivid and cinematic experience at when they made Valhalla? Also, this new story arc with reincarnated isu sucks ass
I wonder.. if Odin managed to take birth in Europe, how the hell Loki was born so far away in Middle East XD
explain to me why the older games had smoother animations and facial expressions then a game made in fucking 2024.
The original creator of Assassin's Creed basically had the studio put a lot of focus and effort into the animations because humans were still awkward to model. But he left the studio after AC3 i think
more like his brain was hijacked. a good person remembering an evil past would feel bad about it.
It’s a shame they devoted an entire game to the most unlikeable character in the entire series
I was trippin i thought i saw kratos on the picture
So when Rashim was in valhalla why didnt she mention basim
Why would she?
@mru3442 well considering she's basim mentor and basim is there the whole game I'm jus surprised they don't connect it atleast a name drop
@@yrntony6175 I mean she wouldnt know of his wereabouts, and considering how things ended when they last saw eachother its understandable that she would not think or speak about him at all
