    Hey nic!!
Here is something that you might find useful from 4 years of my research.
Touch n lightly wrap the cue using the the lowest finger joints and then form ■GRIP by the V, index finger n the thumb by 40% pressure.
Index finger n thumb move the cue and rest fingers are just rubbing the cue.
    Cheers sir!

I find it easier to suggest to people to hold the cue in the V between the thumb and first finger lightly, then gently close the fingers around the cue like you would hold a hammer

You should do a video on how certain pros get on the line of aim. They all do it slightly different. You look at the likes of Robertson and kyren Wilson and the way they bring the cue on line where as selby comes down and Higgins Murphy ect com across! It’s interesting how they all have a slightly different method! Would be good to see your thoughts on this 👍

The common denominator is that they all gets both hand (and therefore the cue) early - in most cases before the bridge hand touches the table.

Nik I really enjoyed this video. Very helpful. I do think I miss around too much after ive got down on the shot. Nik why is it when im playing bad and suddenly just think "sod this game!" and throw myself at the shot and whack some balls...they all fly in the pockets and I dont miss a thing? But sometimes when im wrapped up in theory everything is hard work??

That question highlights with hilarity the frustrations of snooker Steve - and I think all serious players join you in appreciating the irony of the game. How can that be?! It is because we are removing the conscious mind from the process and 'parking it' to the side. The unconscious then has the ability to play what it knows without interference. But under pressure we cannot play like this as it is too careless, so it is about getting this balance of interference correct. One way you can park the conscious mind is to mentally count your cue actions eg "One, Two, Three, Annnnd Four" (the last two words being during backswing and delivery respectively). Or you can count "One, Two" as you take two steps into the shot. Or you can stay down until the ball hits pocket or cushion and measure in millimetres how far the object ball was from being dead centre pocket. All these things give the mind something to do, and can help us get that interference balance correct.

Lee Reynolds , I know I shouldn't but that made me laugh. It's a very good video to be fair, maybe not the most exciting part of playing snooker but all the little bits add up.
