Thankfully spiders that like fire only exist in fiction. And having some spiders is ok outside cause they keep the bugs from eating your flowers and fruit and veggie garden
@@firstswordcorvus7368 There's a planet out there where spiders evolved with a exoskeleton that is coated in a substance that repels heat and is non-flammable.
I'm sorry, but I don't think a game should have a "let's adjust this game to suit you better" setting. If some is arachnophobic or is scared of bugs and too scared to the point where they can't play it then that's on the gamer who made the purchase.
4:09 I can smell you. I’m creepin’ around right now, you just can’t see me because I’ve evolved invisibility. Although I might have a measly shiv, it is quite effective when applied to the jugular.
I will forgive you on account of your PFP showing absolute TASTE (also sauce? Just for confirmation), but I will say, Frogs and Toads do it better. And heresy for saving the life of a spider.
As a person who is in love with spiders and all other bugs, I see this game as an absolute win. Plus you would think spiders are agressive to humans, but they're actually more scared of us than we are of them, and will usually only attack as a last resort. Plus they're great for pest control!
I'd be pretty intimidated if a weird statepuff marshmallow spider just slowly floated towards me too٫ Laimu. also 11:08 sounds like Dr. Crygor from WarioWare's old voice
I played this game about 2 years ago. I love bugs. I don't have arachnophobia in the slightest. Every fear response to the spiders was entirely justified, however. They will kill you very quickly and move very fast. This game can probably cause arachnophobia in of itself. Watching people with Arachnophobia react to the Wolf Spiders is endless amusement.
Huh... So this is what it would have been like if they made a video game version of "Honey I Shrunk The Kids". Also if you really think about it this game is so much more horrifying. Ants coming and ripping you apart limb from limb to take you down into their nest to snack on, mosquitoes sucking up all your blood and leaving you a mummy, spiders injecting poison into you that liquifies your insides before drinking them up like a human slurpy. Because of how small they are you dont really think about it but have you ever seen an ants teeth? Look it up. Enjoy the nightmares.
A little late for this. But at 2:43, the bug in the water is a Notonectidae or a backswimmer. They are a pretty cool little insect but their bites feel like getting stung by a bee
The Wolf spiders i dont think were bugged. Im pretty sure they were meant to essentially smell your scent and follow your scent for a while. Im pretty sure that was maintained into 1.0, but its been a while since ive played so i cant recall for certain.
Lime is so dang adorable. ...OH MY FUCKING GOD. I almost made it through the whole video, until the ladybug talked smack to Lime and I almost spat out my vodka.
I literally had a wolf spider enter my room while I was playing this game. I was panicked and fighting a wolf spider in-game, ironically, so when my mom noticed it crawling towards my door from the dining room, she tried to let me know, but I didn't notice. It wasn't until she entered my room while squashing it that I realized what was up
i know of a game that will help you greatly with leanring to fear spiders less, it helped me, webbed on steam. such a precious 3d art style and relaxing game play.
Aside from jumping spiders, I believe wolf spiders and banana spiders are the least scary spiders in the world. Wolf spiders are chickens and run away from you. Banana spiders are chill and rarely move. Both are big enough to see easily. It's little ones you can't see and more venomous kinds that are any kind of scary. Of course, I let spiders crawl on me all the time. Let a jumping spider jump into my hand yesterday.
Wolf spiders get a bad wrap because they don't build webs and wait in a hole for prey, and instead go out hunting. That means you're more likely to see them than other spiders. Wolf spiders are friends though because they eat pests and leave people alone. If you have an ant-infestation a single wolf spider can wipe them out.
I thought I would struggle because of the spiders, but I really dislike all the other enemies too! The only ones that don’t make me uncomfortable are the Ants.
When I first played this game, the Spiders universally scared the shit out of me. This was the first game in years to successfully trigger my arachnophobia since Dark Souls 2, because most games before them would either do too little or too much with their spider enemy designs. It took me a while to get over my fear of them in-game and that came exclusively from getting used to killing both kinds of land spiders. Never had trouble with the Diving Bell Spiders tho, that came naturally to me, they're not the hardest to combat.
Idea for a game: you get shrunk down like this but instead of a crafting game it's like Fatal Frame meets Pokemon Snap where you have to take macro photos of nocturnal insects and arachnids that WILL try to eat you, but the camera flash can scare them off. As a trade-off, that flash also makes your position known to everything in the immediate area, so you gotta take your shot and then run like a little bitch or get ripped apart by spiders or centipedes. The title could be "Get Shrunk, Nerd." Add other mechanics below. Oh, and of course, it'd have to be a photorealistic art style just to get those extra fear points from the bug-fearing crowd (sorry, Limes).
The pond in this game fucks with my Thalasophobia so damn much the bugs don't bother me hell I don't even have to worry about snakes if they ever add a DLC and they add snakes yea no all of the nope
Man your new model is soooo much better. I even get what this one is missing by comparing them. Not enough head positions, can't properly turn side to side. Not enough lip bones. Face is suuuper static.
I wonder if there are water spiders...
"Diving Bell Spider"
Just great.
spiders have conquered all elements except 1
they can fly be on land and in water

4:09 GassyMexican "I can smell you" unlocked ancient memories. Thanks Laimu!
I have evolved invisibility
Glad I'm not the only one who tried turning on arachnophobia mode and immediately thought "OH NO THAT IS SO MUCH WORSE"
Spider = Scary
Orb = Downright threatening
The fact that the OST even calls them "Danger Dumplings" makes it even better lmao
I wouldn't really be scared٫ but i would be really weirded out if THAT thing started sloooowly approaching me.
Thinking of it as a shitty little Spore creature makes it a bit better

"Oh wow, you're so close to me. It's almost like I can feel... your heartbeat."
I'm more surprised you went INTO the den of a wolf spider willingly. those things are FAST IRL. they don't make webs, they hunt on foot.
I have seen one the size of a large mouse before.
Some of the smartest spiders too
Wolf Spiders are smart enough they can be reasoned with, but not by going directly into their den and throwing rocks at them lmao
2:14 I love those couple of frames where you can see the terror from the inside of the character's head
I actually love spiders more than any other crawly and go out of my way to not kill any, since they trap all the other bugs I don’t like!
Same they're pretty awesome! 🙂
Also based
I'm okay with them as long as they don't bother me. If they don't they can vibe

It isn't a phobia if it's rational to be afraid.
Like how arachnophobia doesn't exist in Australia.

Actually, it's working exactly as intended.
It's designed to keep Therapists in business. Gotta take a step back to take two forward.
