Even when 2040 rolls around I still hope to see all the vics, the chargers, the explorers and tahoes still being used even though theirs gonna obviously be newer law enforcement vehicles out during that year
At this point, I wouldn't be shocked if the older shops are still around in the year 2040

If I was the head/CEO of Ford, I'd love to bring the car back to production and keep its exterior body designs. With modernized head lights and tail lights, I don't think the Vics will look too old. Volkswagen has tried to keep facelifts of their Beetles and Jeep with their Wranglers to the minimum. I've also seen comments of others thinking Ford discontinued the Vics because they're just "too good" to continue, something like that.

A black and white CVPI with a unitrol and MX7000 never gets old, goes together like pb&j too lol, just wish that MX was fixed, still an awesome catch!
In my experience with an MX7000 (CA, not LAPD though), the three position slide switch will have three options:
1 - rear ambers only
2 - rear ambers and solid red and blue lights to the front
3 - rear ambers, solid red and blue lights to the front, and 360° rotating warning lights
My department configured the system to only allow the siren to come on in position three.
I believe there's a malfunction here, where the slide switch is in position three allowing the siren to sound but the rotators are not working and one of the ambers is out causing the flasher to short circuit and the other amber to burn steadily, rather than flash in sequence with the other amber.
While the scenario depicted in this video does not provide for maximum warning power it is enough to satisfy the minimum CVC requirements for a code three run.
27 years ago, I jumped in my VFDs Ford bronco for an ems call. We had someone on location, so I turned the master switch, hit the lights and sirens and responded to the scene.
While walking back to the bronco, I noticed the grill red ocsilasers and roof mounted FS Jetsonic were off with only the headlights wigwagging. That's when I was told there was a modification made that if you turned the master switch in one direction, everything worked. If you flipped it the other way, only headlights and siren.
No clue what dumbass did that LOL
I bet the residents were wondering why I had no reds on? Oh well, they were nice enough to yield anyway LOL

I think I'm not certain but this might be a case of I can't actually run code 3 but I can turn my stage 1 lights on and clear intersections with the siren so I don't have to have an unauthorised code run. Since LAPD is extremely micromanaged with technology and what not.
Lights trigger dash cas and the car is assigned to an Officer by a chip key fob that's in the car

Back up calls are usually full code 3.
It was a malfunction. Rear single amber on rear was also stuck on.
Did the lightbar blow a fuse? The ambers weren't wig-waging, the rotators weren't rotating.

Thats a 2002 to 2004. And that light bar seems about done! But those things are keepers!
2005, if you look closely at 0:07 and so on, there is the antenna pole but has no antenna. You can run the plate if you want to (1191690). Also this model runs from 2003-2005, 2002 had different rims (and hubcaps). Doesn't matter, 2005 is 18 years old already, LAPD is a Classic Keeper 😂

I still see PD Crown Vics, but I haven't seen one w/o a LED bar in ages.
LAPD still has a few roaming around. West LA, Olympic, and Rampart, to name a few, have one

LAPD is one of the last major US cities that run a large fleet of Crown Vic's. San Francisco (SFPD) is #2 !!! I hear MANY vics are in service in Florida also !!
