      @@stewartbrands It's actually recommend to reseal an RV roof every year. We don't do that, but the fact that it has done this well for this long is a win for us. We are just trying to keep people updated along the way. If we still have this RV in 5 years we will do another video update then. And of course let people know if anything gets compromised before then. I would assume you could find other reviews out there who have had it on longer.

      Can flexseal be used on a TPO roof membrane. I want to use it to coat all the decor sealant around the different vents and skylights. The self leveling dicor just doesn't flow out as well as I would like. (Unless it's really hot outside) Thanks.

    We just used a gallon on our pop up camper roof. Two coats and it's looks and feels amazing and strong. First we squeegeed on, second coat we used a roller and made a super thick coat. Best decision ever to use flex seal.

    I’ll share my experience with flex seal. 6 years ago I purchased a truck, same one I use to tow my T.T. It has an incredible custom paint job. The bottom half is white with huge tires. I didn’t want rocks and road debris chipping the paint. So I took white flex seal liquid rubber and sealed a 4 inch strip on the rear rocker panels. It still looks great and if I didn’t point it out to you, you wouldn’t know it was there.👍I’m very happy with it and just sealed the front seam on the roof on my T.T.

    Ok you got me sold. I have a 65 Chevelle covertable the car and top are white the top needs a little help. I'm going to pickup a gallion, Let see how it holds up to being FLIXED and not cracking. I have high hopes. But sounds to good to be true in my situation. I'm hoping it won't separate from the canvas when being opened. the top cost is about 400 dollars and is a pain to install. I will make a video and post it. I'll try the 100 dollar fix first. And thank you guys was very informative.

    • @LifesSweetJourney
      @LifesSweetJourney  3 หลายเดือนก่อน

      I am glad you found the video helpful, but I would definitely try a patch spot first if you are using it on canvas. I am not sure, like you said, how it will hold up to the opening and closing on that type of material .

    Now thats it has been awhile longer what has been your maintenance schedule on this? DO you tear the edges off what comes off then cover over it? How much does your RV cover rub off the edges when you remove it and can you use any flex seal products to seal over the flex seal liquid around say vents etc

    • @LifesSweetJourney
      @LifesSweetJourney  2 หลายเดือนก่อน

      We haven't had to do any of that, it is still holding up really well and hasn't rubbed or peeled at the edges yet at all! We also no longer have a cover- it got ripped in a storm so it is just exposed to the sun. But yes if we needed to patch spots we would just paint over with more of the flex liquid.

    I bought an 86 16ft sunliner camper and it had some roof leaks.The roof seemed like aluminum so i used flex seal brushed the edges and seams then rolled the roof.I was wondering if i should apply a 2nd coat since i still have some left in the gallon i bought.It looks really good i really liked the thickness because i didn't have to deal with it running down the sides.I actullay bought 2 gallons but at $109 a gallon one is going back since one gallon will go so far.Thanks for your video i'm keeping my fingers crossed this works

    • @LifesSweetJourney
      @LifesSweetJourney  ปีที่แล้ว

      Awesome! Glad it only took you one gallon. If you think it looks thick enough I wouldn't worry about applying the second coat, just save the leftover for touchups if needed. That's what we did with the one we had some leftover in. So far only had to use a small bit of it once for a part that got scraped. Hope it hold up as well for you as it has for us!

    I have a 2021 grand design 5th wheel. I was just informed by the deal that I need a new roof after only two years. They want $10000 to fix it. I personally only saw one minor tear but they say it all needs to be replaced. I think I will do what you did with flex seal. Way cheaper and way better. Just one question. Did you leave the original rubber roof on or did that come off????

    • @LifesSweetJourney
      @LifesSweetJourney  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      After just two years on a 2021? That seems wild! It's not under warranty? Yeah, in total is was only like $300 and the man hours of our time, but did it in under a day so well worth it. We left the original roof on and just sealed over it. We had a pretty big tear in one side of ours, so we made sure to seal over that extra well. Here is the original reseal video if that's helpful: th-cam.com/video/MyCh-sXdjuk/w-d-xo.html Best of luck!!

    • @LifesSweetJourney
      @LifesSweetJourney  ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi, no the tape you see on the slide outs is the original tape that was part of the roof when we bought it. It was the tape that the manufacturer used to in the initial built to reinforce the seams of the slides. Anywhere that we had Flex Tape on the roof we removed it before sealing with the Flex Liquid as that was what was most recommended from Flex Seal. The only place we didn't remove the Flex Tape was on the vent covers as it was covering holes. You can see where we removed it, as well as the painted over vent covers in the initial reseal video (th-cam.com/video/MyCh-sXdjuk/w-d-xo.html).

      We did not retape the seams. We did remove the old Flex Tape we had covering one of the holes, as that is what they recommended. We just made sure to apply liberal amounts of sealant to that spot. And yes, painted over old caulk. You can see the initial reseal process in this video th-cam.com/video/MyCh-sXdjuk/w-d-xo.html - which will show how we trimmed everything and what we painted over :) Best of luck!

      No, this one is not. We do partner with Flex Seal for other videos however. They did send us product free to test out, for our initial reseal video. This was the check in we told our community we would give them as we continue to see how it holds up. We will always be open and honest with the things we share, even if they turn out not to work for us. Which includes any partnerships we may have that turn out to not work down the line.
