Hopefully Guelph will start more programs for testing reptiles, because it's so desolate up here

Thanks for continuing to be the only guy I see online preaching for the equal treatment of reptile pets. Have gotten 5 dogs in my life and the thought of one coming completely unvaccinated/tested is just insane. Yet I honestly didn’t even know about fecal screens etc. for reptiles till 2017. I did live under a rock. But ever since I found out there hasn’t been a single pet I didn’t get at least parasite tested. And since meeting you and getting set up with fish head. There will never be another that isn’t fully screened. Appreciate you brotha!

You know it! This stuff has been "in the hobby" for literally since the beginning. It was turned into "Well reputable breeders[read: my friends] don't get disease!" and other shenanigans. That's how the average "ethical keeper" treats it. A lot of these diseases have equivalents in other areas - daycare centers have Cryptosporidium procedures to prevent transmission. Do you know what the average reptile distributor *DOES NOT* have? Cryptosporidium procedures to prevent transmission. Oof!

@@ResolveReptiles is just crazy to me. My biggest fear was always basically worms. “They get parasites especially wild caught” but idk just seems silly to basically cry over $75 to ensure your entire collection is healthy. Sure initial costs is going to be steep for me testing 13 animals but after this… extra $75 for peace of mind seems extremely worth while and reasonable. Would be amazing if they came from breeders certified. I was astonished when my tegu came with papers of a fecal screen. Did not include crypto results sadly but even still! Blew me away.
