Think it looks great, I have the same car and been looking at h&r springs. Could you possibly drop the link to where you got your springs from please ?
I read a fair bit i to it and people seemed to complain slightly more about the H&R springs. Got the same answers when looking into them for the UP aswell!
Looks right to me. I'm not a fan of the super extreme drop and cambered wheels, etc.. I'm really curious about your ride impressions. Does it still feel smooth, or have you lost travel (even with the shorter bump stops). Do you find yourself scraping the ground on things more now? How does it ride compared to stock?
I'm really looking forward to seeing this. I have the sam exact car and the modifications are amazing. Been following everything that you did and applying it to my audi a3. Amazing content.
I lowered my A3 with the same springs. Funny my original springs were much thinner than the Eibachs. Not a boat anymore as it was wobbly in the round abouts and corners.
@@matimcfetridge I love them, I just have classics which are the cheapest option, and granted they don’t have adjustable dampening they still have a good spring rate along with just being really solid after putting about 6,000 miles on them
I have an Audi A3 2007, I thought it would be more difficult, so, I just have to change the springs to softer ones. Where do you recommend I buy them or what brand?
Darkside developments powerflex bushes.. life time guaranteed have a look Mati gonna start changing full set over. Few vids would help if your up for the challenge ✌
To be honest mate its probably not something Im going to do, this is an everyday car for me and from what Ive heard you really sacrifice a lot of comfort for powerflex bushes, although do gain some good performance! I have a car coming up shortly that this will more than likely be the path I take with though 👀
@@matimcfetridge I just finished installing TTRS rear bushings for the front lower control arm. Tightens up the steering a little bit with no noticeable increase in NVH. Pressing out the old and in with the new in the aluminum carrier was a bit of a faff, but you can get *slightly* less performance ones for the S3 that are just a straight swap. It kind of goes halfway to the poly bushings (which i also do not want to do).
I have the exact same car and same year been following everything you do to this and has helped me out alot mate cheers hope to see more to come on this car 🙂👍👍👍
I love it😍😍 can u plz do one more thing " the expanders" on yhe wheels it should give it a more sportier looking just like u said and it really handles the corners easily 💯
Really sits nice . I have the 2007 1.9tdi 5 door and would like to have a go at this but I have a quick question... Would the suspension be the same set up on mine ? You made it look incredibly easy and I'd rather give it ago myself rather than pay that labour cost haha let me know please fella. Car looks really nice by the way
@@matimcfetridge ok I am going to give this a go. Am pretty sure I will be fine as long as I get the right coils haha . Thanks again mate. The car looks great 👌
Hey I've also got an A3 8p, but my 1 problem with it is that there's only 1 cup holder that's not even accessible. Have you thought about retrofitting one?
Great videos Mati. Like yourself I bought the springs and I’ve put the job off, I’m doing all the work on my A3 myself aside from the DMF. Looks great on those springs it’s making me wanna get mine out the garage and get them fitted! Good tip on the drive shaft.
+Michael You will definitely enjoy it mate, cant believe how much these springs have improved the handling! After its been 4 wheel aligned it corners on rails, very impressed!
@@matimcfetridge mines the sport back 4 door I can get a fist under the arches nearly. Looks like it’s on stilts, and it’s supposedly lowered from factory being a sport. Handling on this is average at best so it looks like that’s my next job.
Nice one Mati, I've got eibach springs with bilstein shocks on my mk4 golf. Sits nicely and also handles alot better. I think you need some spacers now probably about 10-15mm
I wasn’t underneath the car so wasn’t hugely fussed on axle stands, to be honest didn’t realise I had done anything wrong with the gaiter, there didn’t seem like anything to seat it on?
Always use axle stands I've seen people get crushed. The inner strut top has a ring where the gaiter sits in pull bumpstop down and locate the gaiter it stops the socket stanchon gettin g filled with grit and dirt.
I got my front springs lowerd but the back is original sline. I bought it like this , would you suggest me to replace the front with the original or lower the back or just leave the front lowered and back original??
Looks wicked man, stance is much nicer now! Just need some spacers now :P Gotta say though, you're a bit of a mad man not sticking any axle stands in there while it was jacked up ;)
Yeah certainly going to look into some spacers! Thinking 18mm rear and 12 fronts unless you have any advise? Haha I trust the jack to be honest, she’s a good en! Although Im still not daft enough to crawl underneath it!
@@matimcfetridge yeah tbf the fitment on 8Ps are strange with OEM alloys. Mine are 7.5J ET54, 10mm at front but could’ve gone 15 realistically, and 20mm at the back could’ve gone 25mm or 30 haha. Maybe get some cheap sizes 2nd hand off eBay for what you want, once you’re happy with fitment go with brand new H&R
I've got a dead left rear spring & 3 other dying coils, that's what I've got, my god you should see the corrosion on the rear subframe right around where those 2 support arms bolt in, holy shit have I got a job on my hands. This looks mint! I got lowering springs for my A3 Sportback a while ago and the back almost sits on the wheels but the fronts never settled properly so looks a bit odd! Think al look into some better springs if not, maybe coilovers! Loving the build and the channel! Actually bought the LED interior lighting kit off the back of the video you did about mods for your car 👍🏻
Same with my 8P (fuck sake) but it's the 3 door version, they're not Eibach springs by any chance? I heard the different height with the sportback at the front and back though is to do with the body line at the back making the back look lower than it is. Doesn't really make much sense to me, although when I measured mine they were both the same. Spacers do help though too.
the factory lowered spring on my 2017 S-line A3 does the same thing. I did notice even tho the rear looks lower and the front higher, the ground clearance is much smaller at the front lift point than it is in the rear point so there's definitely some positive rake. I got myself some H&R sport springs to hopefully fix it
Who da fuck lowers his car with springs alone, it's about the worst you can do. Your original dampers arent calculated on it and it will only do the car bad.

Would you say the Audi is sitting lower than a standard s-line after fitting the springs ?
Looks good. Heard that this model has an issue with consuming too much oil, which requires new piston rings?
I put my A3 on racelands and dropped it 4 inches from stock, it’s tucking the rears beautifully but still has no rubbing, the rear wheelwells are huge
I'm on same! £300 for a perfect ride hight
