Happy New Year! Garrett I hope you have a successful launch today I will be watching my email. Here is to hoping that you and everyone at IDC has a successful 2025!
Well, duh! Because it comes from IDC Woodcraft, of course! So you’ll get a free bag of M&M’s in the package with your order. And a nice handwritten message from Liberty on the back of the package! Where else are you going to get that level of customer service?
heisenbugz, Great question! The primary difference often lies in the geometry and design of the bit, which can affect things like chip removal, finish quality, and cutting depth. Down-cut bits tend to push the material down while cutting, helping to avoid tear-out on the top surface, while ball nose bits are designed for creating rounded edges. If you have specific features in mind, I’d love to hear about them!
bubba6945, I totally get where you're coming from! Using a V-bit can definitely add some extra time to the process. Finding the right balance between efficiency and quality is key in machining. Sometimes, a bit of trial and error can help you discover methods that save time without sacrificing that clean finish. Good luck with your projects!

i have been using a vbit to keep the chip out to a minimum but thats an added step and time and time is money
