Wow!!! 80+ thousand?! Temple is as big as Bryan, Longview, Conroe, Baytown--population-wise. Like Killeen and Waco nearby, it might crack 100k by the end of the decade. BTW, that freeway stretch of US 190 will become a part of future Interstate 14! Just sayin' from 170 miles SE (Houston)...
You're not going in a good direction on S. 31st. You should have turned right at Baylor Scott & White and gone to Central, turned right on that 1-way, turned left on Main, and gone into Temple's Historic District. Then, you should have driven on the downtown streets, and explored the Santa Fe Museum and Park.
I 35 runs north n sth the middle of Temple. Go east to HEB Plaza on the right. 3 more blocks WALMART. On the left. Go west to see general older housing businesses.
@@uglyhobo4602, I did part of my growing up there: 1965 thru 1978. I went back to visit there in 2013, and it had CHANGED! It's like many places: it's what you make of it.
@jeffersonrundell7540 I just found it so boring there. The city was desolate, nothing going on. I was there a few months ago. I hopped on a freight train and went to Waco instead.
Another great tour of a city in Texas!

I have been wanting to visit Temple and video Elevators and trains
If you visit there, look up Suicide Hill. Moved from Temple 45 years ago.

I was born here at the hospital which I don’t think it has the same name anymore! I don’t have any memories of this place!
I moved from there a little over 45 years ago. The downtown has changed.
Downtown is so boring. Temple is boring.
