The NightFlyyer would be proud! I thought of using pvc ,something light weight to use instead of a wood dowling. You are asking it to lift a heavy dowel and stay straight, not that it couldnt lift it. In reality, that dowel is actually acting as a rudder or counterbalance pulling it straight back down. That being said. I do plan on building one this summer. I think the idea is to keep it level and straight. You heli wanted to spin before taking off, that tells me too much weight underneath holding it back.

Nice job on the stand. I am thinking this would work on a quadcopter. I might make some adjustments. Cheers

not sure quadcopters are fairly stable really stable actually. if I was to do one for a quadcopter I would probably make it heavy on the bottom platform on the ground and super light on the top. at any rate thank you for the compliment I love flying helicopters

yea i know this is an old video so why am i posting? Just to say nice job Roger. It's to bad there are always the haters out there with chips on their shoulders. Some guys and their egos are just out of wack. I knew how to fly before gyros were made....wow cool...Man when i learned how to fly helis we didn't have batteries we just had to build power by putting together a bicycle and pedals running to a propeller and the faster we peddled the faster the heli would go.........ROFL....who cares?
Nice video roger. you look like you are having fun, isn't that what this is about? having fun?
This is why i didn't join the only rc heli club in my town. Because their were so many uptight people. Lighten up guys.

Oui, c'est un support de formation / test, si vous trouvez qu'il est inutile alors vous devez être un pro et n'ont pas besoin de voir cette vidéo. ^ ^

Before you post an ugly comments GazeyJR, you might want to read back, this area is for those beginners trying to learn the basic's like hovering and pitch control. But with today's gyros, hovering is a task where very little if no skill at all is necessary. looks like you missed that part there buddy.

but what is the point? it took me less than 30 minutes to master my 26" chopper for the first time. Never even used training wheels. With the gyro, nowadays helis are very stable.

yah, today's gyros take ALL of the skill out of it. but the stand is great for setting up a build heli and tracking the blade.

Very little effort, yet you can't hover in all orientations?? May want to re word that.

If You Seriously Think that FBL units take ALL of the skill out of it. There is something wrong with you. Have you even even flown a FBL Heli? I mean Seriously, If you need a 'Training Stand' You shouldn't come out with statements like that. Thank you.

You're a moron. I'll bet you couldn't even get a heli off the ground for more than 3 seconds without a gyro. However incense to your comment the stand is more meant for fine tuning. And those you choose to learn a skilled art of flying without a gyro this stand will help them with orientation and save the cost of repairs in the learning process. There is absolutely no skill flying RC helicopters with a gyro.
