Thanks for the kind words. I did it twice one on my Maverick and once on my Bronco. Well let me tell you I love it once, twice was tough. But when your done it’s one of the best upgrades you can do. Put on your favorite music, take your time and you will love it. To quote the movie, the water boy. You can do it.
Stuck trying to get the trim piece back on after stitching the cover. Any tips?
Ok, so the Maverick cover comes I. 2 pieces, are you having issues with the bottom piece or the middle piece with the switches?
Look at timestamp 31:20 I talk about notching the leather infront of the 2 dimples on the lower chrome piece so the lower chrome piece can slide in.
When you reinstall do you start with the bottom and then move upwards? I’m stuck with the bottom part. I notched it and it looks close but isn’t clicking in. Perhaps I need to trim a little more?
Yes, did it come off in one piece? Also the bottom is trimmed very close to the raised plastic, there is only a small space, 1/4 inch or so of leather. The leather can not ride up the bottom plastic that the chrom surrounds or it will take up the space for the chrome. So you want the bottom leather to come right up to the plastic hump but not curve up the hump. I hope this makes sense

Unfortunately, the one I ordered had 2 options. Perforated or not perforated. I assumed they were talking about The whole piece of leather was perforated and not the stitching perforation. Unfortunately, I was wrong and they were referring to the perforation for the stitching.
At this point I can't send the one back because it came from China. Have you ever done one without the Perforations for the stitching? I did buy a curved needle.
That a friend recommended to do this with? So I don't know if that will help. What are your thoughts? Should I try it or just order another?

Hello, I did not know about the perforation. I also did my Bronco’s steering wheel and that one did not have stitching and I did the stitching my self. I will link that video, just fast forward to the part where I show how to do the stitching. I will look if I can find my ebay order.

If there are no holes in the leather whatsoever, I would get some thin 3M double sided tape and I would run that around the inside of the steering wheel and have the leather butt up against itself and press it to the tape. Wish you the best good luck and comment back with any questions.
@@fredsgarage1925 thank you for your reply. The kit actually came with a small roll of very thin double-sided tape, two small rolls of thread, and a couple needles. I noticed that the edges are already stitched and I watched another video showing running the needle through the stitching instead of true perforated holes. Have you seen this method? Any suggestions for this method . Thanks again for your help
Yes, on my Maverick I ran the stitches through the stickers that came with them, on the Bronco I stitched it through the perforated holes. Good luck, it’s a pain to do but you will love it every time you get in the Maverick.
