My name is Terry and I have not been in the military. If I were young and heard this story - I for sure would NEVER enlist. These brave soldiers and the heroes who were KIA should have been honored and treated with high regards and respect. The thought of the occurrences from beginning to after the battle are horrendous. Our military higher ups and senators should feel like shit. I believe with all my heart that this investigation should be reopened and dealt with. It would not bring back the heroes or bring the deserved respect back. But it would show the true people responsible and they should be dealt with, demoted and held liable. There should be a list started to do so and I would be the 1st to sign it. My heartfelt respect and honor to you men of Chosen Few.
@@terryhansen3358 Thank you Terry. Greatly appreciate your kind words and thoughts. Unfortunately, the Army charged most of the leaders and then later dropped all the charges. The brigade commander was forced out by Gen Milley, writing him up suicidal. I recently met the brigade commander and he took full responsibility. Completely shocked me! Of course he’s living a very lavish life style on the beach. Battalion commander stands by his actions, which I’ll never understand why but he never made general officer even after being promoted several times. He blames us fathers for it. Go figure, fuck him! The men support the company commander for which we respect. The 2 divisional commanders were, Milley & Schloesser. One retired immediately and put the platoon leader, Brostrom in for the Medal of Honor, the other fault it all the way to the White House where he recently retired from under Trump and Biden. 4 Star of course Gen Mark Milley. I was in the USN and spent many many hours at Sea standing lookout watches in the cold, rain, wind and heat in the middle of nowhere Ocean and I totally get it when I see you all had to do all the boring hours in a dirt sand bagged pit in the heat and with all the flies in the middle of nowhere. I also get it when everyone says they hate rocks because having to climb up and down those mountains had to have been a bitch. And I was pissed off too when I see how your platoon with just 2-weeks left in Country, gets tasked with another shit job mission. It is now 16 years later, and I am sure you are glad you took all of this footage as I am glad you took it also. 🏴☠ ❤💯 I am not sure that I am looking forward to the 2nd part with 9 KIA's and a bunch of wounded, but out of respect I will no matter how upset it will make me feel.

The unfortunate part is this was not unique location wise. Many places were placed in locations where strategically it has to be bait lure the enemy in and the surrounding smaller outposts intercept the enemy attempting to move in. This is the only sense I could make of this as someone who was not at this specific location but many that were surrounded by bowls just like this.

The responsibility for the deaths of so many clearly rests with those who discounted the terrain as in Mission, Enemy, Time, Terrain & Troops (METT-T) and simply failed to project what could happen with such an under-strength unit with little immediate combat support.
Politics get people killed especially when decisions are made in war.

Hey all you guys that served not just in this unit, but any unit in the Ghan and salute from me to you all for all the blood, sweat & tears you shed in service.

That the senior officers responsible for this were not held accountable is unforgivable. Even a dumbass civilian like me knows a bad tactical position when he sees it.
