This trip we were only targeting trout but there happened to be some Kokanee pooled up in that little hole and they were eating Power Eggs (Power Bait). We got lucky. We actually haven't got our salmon tags for several years but we plan on doing it next year and hitting it hard and will admit we have a lot to learn. If you are bank fishing you can't go wrong with coastal rivers (Salmon River) or the Santiam. Those are only 2 places of many I would recommend.

There are salmon in Detroit lake, I don’t believe you can keep them 😉 Kokanee are fantastic to eat!!
