I had never heard of Larivee guitars up until a couple years ago. I was looking for a high quality guitar that suited my vocal tone, so I decided to spend a day playing virtually every guitar in the local Long and Mcquade. The showdown ended up coming down to two guitars, and they were both Larivees. There was no comparison, even from Gibsons with double the price tag. I'm now playing a Larivee LV-03e, and couldn't be happier with it!
Fourteen years ago I walked into The Spruce Tree in Madison, Wisconsin looking to buy my first Martin, and the owner told me they don't deal in Martin's. He handed me the least expensive Larrivee he had (A company I'd never heard of), and I played it for about ten minutes. At the end I said... "I'll take it." It's still my favorite acoustic that I have.
I had a similar experience. I went in looking st Martin's, couldn't find what I was looking for. Picked up a Larrivee, bever heard of them. Couldn't put it down. Still cant put it down. SOO happy I didnt buy a Martin because I just love the Larrivee
Tommy is so easy to listen to, everything seems so interesting for him. He is so positive. He plays 300 concerts a year all over the world...and yet he seems like he has a never ending well of energy and enthusiasm. Never ever jaded.
Couldn't agree more. He is an absolute inspiration, always positive.....I've never heard him say a bad word about anyone. An incredible musician and an amazing person.
I think it would take a certain type of person who can live with a famous musician....I am sure, well hope, that he and his wife discussed this and worked it out before marrying!
My Lerrivee L19 Leaf and Flower was born on Feb 15 1996. I bought her new on May 5 1999 and she has been sounding beautiful ever since. She just turned 20 years old and is in pristine condition.
MUTED?? larrivee guitars are known for the exact opposite. theyre super loud, clear, and have(in my opinion) better balance even than a martin. i own a larrivee d-04 custom.
jonahandhisguitar I know jean VERY well, and in discourse with him , in his own words said his guitars are voiced, slightly heavier and smoother than say taylors, and except for a model or 2 , id agree.
muted? lol. i own an L-03 and its loud well balanced guitar with beautiful tone...and every other one ive picked up, well, "muted" would be the exact opposite of my desription.

Bought a D03 larrivee 20 years ago. Still my favorite acoustic.
Bought my D-03 25 years ago and it sounds better every day!
I also have a D-03.
It took a couple of years for it to come into its true sound. Excellent guitar!
Not necessary to diss Tommy! You're just jealous, suck it up, buttercups! T.E. IS ONE OF THE BEST Players on this Planet (period!)

we will see how his new wife and baby will be able to deal with it-- his other wife couldn't

I have my good old D-03.
I would like a second Larrivée, like this cutaway.
Great guitars! The best!

Larrivée ❤🎉my favourite 😻
Interesting guitar. Ever hear of a Mossman? Sounds reminiscent of this one. Thank you for sharing.
Definitely excellent guitar!
I have 2. Best acoustics of any custom guitar I tried.
Duds who are too cowardly to justify their thumbs down ratings by comments. What is there not to like?
Mindless negativity is not constructive.
Cmdr. Chris Hadfield had a Larrivee up on the Space Station while he was there.
Richard he is Hot ....I noticed on this clip at 3:01 that the Larrivee L series top has some deflection at the bridge going up to Tommy's arm...
is that an L series cutaway?...more or less.
No, it's a C10 custom
Yes except with the cutaway they call it a C model but it's basically an L body.
larivee have a certain sound, abit muted
