Caitlin Clark's Performance Shuts Diana Taurasi's Claims at Indiana Fever vs Dallas Wings Game

  • Caitlin Clark has Responded to Diana Taurasi's Claims that she would find it hard to adjust to The WNBA atmosphere. Diana Taurasi said WNBA is not like college basketball where Clark was playing against 18 year olds. By having the best performance in the Indiana Fever vs Dallas Wings Preseason game, Caitlin Clark seem to have given Diana Taurasi the best response. Actions speak louder than words.

Yup,agreed! The only way Taurasi's words made sense is if they were meant to create a buzz,or hype FOR Caitlin Clark (much like what they call "heat" in WWE). Like any other sports league, the WNBA needs some fierce rivalries-and,even though the Fever and Mercury arent in the same conference, the WNBA audience is usually younger, more age-conscious and more social media-savvy than in most sports leagues. This will turn into "Gen Z shuts the Boomers up AGAIN" (the irony being that Taurasi is still only 41,which makes her a Millennial)

That's not who that Skank is. Tarausi is a MASSIVELY butthurt individual. She's ate up with jealousy. Because she's been playing in the WNBA (Wokester National BullDy*ke Association) for 20 years and nobody knew who she was until she started hating on Clark.

    • @ukyo2010
      @ukyo2010 12 วันที่ผ่านมา +1

Agreed. And they really should hope Caitlin is successful, as that would help the league become more profitable, which it currently is not. Being profitable is good for all of the players. It makes higher salaries and perks possible.
I have seen some WNBA players complain about their leagues low salaries. But WNBA is perpetually unprofitable. They are lucky to have jobs at all.

I think you're right. The difference between the best college men and the NBA is pretty huge. I think a game between the best college women's team and an average WNBA team would pretty competitive. The worst professional NBA men's team would destroy the best NCAA men's team. I don't believe that would be the case with the women. The professional women are better than the college but I don't think they're that much better than the best female college players. Women also reach their physical peak at a younger age than men.

I am concerned that Clark could wear down because of no real break between seasons. It could take a toll. She goes from the pressure-cooker of the highest levels of NCAA Division I play to the pros. Plus there is all the media glare. If she overcomes all this, she is super-human. A girl from West Des Moines Iowa!

Taurasi is one of the top three greatest, if not THE greatest female pro basketball player EVER.
SHE has won the WNBA Rookie of the Year Award (2004), three WNBA championships (2007, 2009, and 2014), a historic five Olympic gold medals (2004, 2008, 2012, 2016 and 2020), one WNBA Most Valuable Player Award (2009), two WNBA Finals MVP Awards (2009 and 2014), five scoring titles (2006, 2008, 2009, 2010, and 2011), and three FIBA World Cups (2010, 2014, and 2018). She has also been selected to ten WNBA All-Star teams and fourteen All-WNBA teams (including ten first-team selections). In 2011, she was voted by fans as one of the WNBA's Top 15 Players of All Time, and was named by the league to its 20th and 25th anniversary teams, respectively the WNBA Top 20@20 in 2016 and The W25 in 2021. Also in 2021, she was selected by fans as the league's greatest player of all time. On June 18, 2017, Taurasi became the WNBA all-time leading scorer and on June 27, 2021, became the first player to surpass 9,000 points. On August 3, 2023, Taurasi became the first player to score 10,000 career points. Her penchant for scoring in crucial situations has earned her the nickname "White Mamba", coined by Kobe Bryant. Taurasi is one of 11 women to win an Olympic gold medal, an NCAA Championship, a FIBA World Cup, and a WNBA Championship. OH, and let's not forget that she won THREE NCAA TITLES (2002-2004).
Oh, can I pile up a bunch more facts to increase the TRUTH that Taurasi was saying??
    6× EuroLeague champion (2007-2010, 2013, 2016)
    7× Russian National League champion (2007, 2008, 2013-2017)
    3× Russian Cup winner (2013-2014, 2017)
3× Russian League Player of the Year (2007, 2008, 2009)
    Turkish National League champion (2011)
    Turkish Cup winner (2012)
Now, compare that with Caitlan: Greatest college scorer of all time. ZERO NCAA TITLES.
Diana Taurasi is talking from EXPERIENCE, while pipe dreamers like Dual Rays and your ilk are just that: DREAMING ABOUT A FUTURE THAT HAS NOT HAPPENED YET. Taurasi has been there, done that...and she KNOWS BETTER THAN ANYONE IN BASKETBALL, male or female, what it takes to make it in the WNBA. Hell, she knows better than anyone, male or female, what it takes TO WIN CHAMPIONSHIPS. And you actually THINK a pre-season game that Clarke scored 21 points...negates the TRUTH that Taurasi stated??.......Not.

Clark is putting women's ball on the map and is the reason The Fever's road games will all be sell outs as opposed to playing in front of 3,000 fans with half of those tickets given out for free.

Clark is a great offensive player, but she needs to work on her defense. Got in foul trouble early. Can't be a difference maker if you are on the bench and they needed her in the second half but was on the bench most of the time. She will do great things in the wnba.

It was an exhibition/practice game. Part of the goal was to get a look at every player. WNBA players are supposed to be the cream of the crop. There are only 144 spots for cripes sake. They aren’t counting on her to be on the floor every minute. The rest of the team has to carry weight too. The coach even said that in the press conference.

I watched highlights of Caitlin's first preseason game and was blown away. The hype is real. She deserves the attention she gets. Its sad her fellow wnba players are showing jealously when they should lift her up like they do for others because Clark has real potential to bring more eyes to the wnba which can bring more $ for the league which means more $ for the players.

If the woman stands head and shoulders above college competition, that means she's going to perform excellently when entering into the WNBA Now, that doesn't mean she's going to perform as well as she is after let's say 4 or 5 seasons but, She was an extreme standoat, a high level of competition which means she's at minimum. Going to be a decent standout at the professional level.

That's one hell of a compliment! coming from the GREATEST WNBA Player that ever lived.
Taking nothing away from Caitlin's performance that was very impressive for rookie in their first game.... Probably the most impressive rookie start ever.
I wonder if MJ and Kobe Bryant would have been impressed by a LeBron James 21pt game LOSS in the PRESEASON? THE PRESEASON? That's like PRACTICE!😂

They were double teaming her and getting pretty physical with her to the point where she just got really gassed. Even with all this and it being her very first pro game, she still scored 21 points. This is going to continue so if her body holds up I guess she will be forged in fire and be forced to get really good. I think she will be fine.
If they keep focusing hard on Caitlin Clark it also may free up and enable some of the others on her team to get in there and score some points. Kaitlyn Clark is not going to stop being targeted. Apparently she can still score points after those conditions.

While I love Caitlin....I think she needs to expect that the attention she has gotten from college will be different now that she is a pro. In college it was okay to lose but be the most talented player on the court...but at the WNBA level...she's playing against women who have all been the most talented person on the court in college. Diana Turasi was a beast in college...she is a multiple times champion and leading scorer. She was one of the biggest and brightest talents to enter into the league when she entered the WNBA. Instead of seeing this as an OG hating on the new "face of the league" player.....Diana is trying to put Caitlin on game.....the attention is nice now but if she doesn't win and be dominant then the same people who have dubbed her the face of the league will be treating her the same way ya'll are treating Diana right now. Food for thought....
