2024 Electric Paramotor Unboxing- SP140 V2 Frame System

  • This is an unboxing/assembly video for the new SP140 V2 frame system. In this video we mount the electric power pack on the frame.
    The frame setup is the same whether you mount a gas power pack or electric or ever swap between them. This is what make the SP140 V2 frame system so great. It is a low cost modern frame with the high quality components with the option to be used with a gas or electric power system and can be easily upgraded at any time.

    Great timing with the new EFI motor coming out. Both this and the EFI are advancing the sport. I’ve tried the EFI, but have never tried an electric paramotor. As a person who has many issue-free electric powered vehicles, my assumption is that I’d love it. I hope I can experience it soon.

    As someone just assembling this I'd like to say the netting should be assembled with the hoop as you go. Everything was very tight fitting together which is great and that's what I'd prefer but assembling the hoop and then disassembling it again is so much work and I needed another person to help me squeeze everything together

    While I've been dealing in motors and things since I was a kid working with lawnmowers, weedeaters, minibikes, etc... this is the way2go unless you plan on a long distance trip. Most people launch and land at the same place though and fly for fun rather than to actually get somewhere. This is a super sweet piece of kit! It has me thinking about selling some crypto just to get one :D

  • @racitup4114
    @racitup4114 8 หลายเดือนก่อน +8

    Great looking unit but two comments, the first is fairly major. You have gone to the trouble of making a dust cover for the throttle connectors, but it doesn't actually hold the connectors in to ensure a good connection and help with strain relief. Your connectors also don't have a lock/clip. You are relying on cable ties. Obviously a disconnected throttle is a major issue. That would be my first improvement.
    Second is the opposite rotation of the electric vs engine meaning you have to swap the compensation offset on the gooseneck bars if you swap engines. I guess not a huge issue because it won't happen often, just a minor annoyance. Obvs the electric motor is happy rotating either way and just needs a wiring change, so would just need you to swap the electric prop pitch to make the rotation direction the same.
    But nice job, you've come a long way since I last looked a couple of years ago! 🇬🇧

  • @VaughnRhinehart
    @VaughnRhinehart 6 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

    • @PDWhite
      @PDWhite 6 หลายเดือนก่อน

      As the hoop sections are smaller and pack down more there are more of them to put together so the hoop does take a few mins longer to put together, but its much easire to replace any part like the netting and can fit really well into small spaces. So its tradeoffs.

    I'm getting ready to order the SP 140 but still debating the 2 vs. 3 blade prop. I am looking at the quietest possible solution as I live in a very noise sensitive area. I am NOT as concerned about thrust as I had been flying the Atom 80 so anything would be an improvement over that engine (and it worked very well for me). I believe the 3 blade would be a bit smoother but again, the noise (or any higher pitch) would be more of a concern. Any thoughts would be appreciated.

    I really look forward to the day these can get 90+ minutes flight time. If i could get 90 minutes of mixed flying, I'd be on board as a majority of my flights are 60-75 mins and that leaves me some reserve.

    How easy is break down and rebuild for those of us who currently throw ours in the trunk with the V1? Is it necessary to fully remove the net from each hoop piece each time or can you just remove the hoop pieces from the joint pieces, keeping the net installed in them, and accordion fold as you currently would?
    Looks fantastic, thanks for the new video, and stoked to see the dust cover ;-).

    • @PDWhite
      @PDWhite 9 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      No you could leave the netting rods in the tubing but it will have a tendency to want to slide around so maybe a little design for a stopper would be cool. So it locks the netting rods in place.

    Please consider how macfly utilizes a s-shaped tubed goose neck bar with a single figure 8 softlink to connect the carabiners for future versions. Much cleaner simple system imo. No bolts or other hardware except for a single plastic friction stopper. Will be getting an electric unit one day.

      If you take a look at the V1 Sp140 that is how it was done. It used the titanium gooseneck bars like you're talking about. The reason we switched away from that is the CNC bars are stronger. But we could always go back if we wanted to, but I think the CNC bars are more popular with most people.
