I loved one of your recent videos where u said to buy the dress and the occasion will come. I did it! I bought a gold sequin mini dress on sale at Anthropology that I was loving during the holidays, but had no where to wear it. It was on sale for $40 and my 18 yr old daughter can wear it too. I told my husband we all need to figure out an occasion for it! Yay!!!

I have a cashmere cream colored belted wrap coat that I have had since the 1990s ~ purchased from Loehmans. When I wear it, I get lots of compliments. It may have lasted that long because I lived in California for three decades. I love the fur hat, lace-up boots and zip turtle neck. I wear white all the time even when we were RVing full-time. My husband always comments on the impracticality every time he sees me with the stain remover spray. I may have to find a source for the spray because I got it in Germany and I now live in Portugal. 😂

I agree with the neutral colours. I've been wearing more neutrals this winter and it looks and feels classy. I think limiting your colours to one or two looks classy. Loved that knit skirt and top 👌

I am 69, in Sicily, and basically live on a bicycle. Every morning I dress to go for a breakfast of pistachio cornetto and cappuccino. Last night it rained, so my starting point this morning was protection from splashes. So - black vinyl leggings, with motorcycle boots. On top, over a lightweight jumper, a chestnut brown cashmere sweater with a loose polo neck. Then I jazzed it up with a leopard print velvet biker jacket. Warm burgundy hat and gloves, ready to go! My bag has to go in the basket of the bike; a Weekend MaxMara denim pasticcino bag sits nicely, closes securely and holds all I need
The fluffy hat, yep I like the fluffy hat; but what I also enjoy is a pair of leather gloves with the fur cuff around the wrist. ...something about the car heater blowing the fluffy fur: action. Yep, I like action happening. Great message. Thank you. ~ L

I love that hat and the color - thank you - I've been grappling with the color because ashy tones don't look good on me, and so many hats are in ashy tones. Think of us yellow-skinned people! I've been eyeing similar ones on Etsy. Yes, Etsy is great for fur or faux fur items. I got a fur headband and a real shearling teddy there at an affordable price! It was white with a hood, and I love it. May not be the most sophisticated or versatile look but it suits my needs - I needed one with a hood. It's heavy though and falls off my shoulders a lot because it's oversized. I can button it but I'm afraid if I overuse the button, it will eventually fall off. I don't like to get anything faux anymore, especially in shoes, because they don't last, and I don't like breathing in polyester fibers. I didn't think about that until someone pointed it out.

Before I watched you I didn’t have the confidence to wear white. I found some awesome off white jeans from Banana Republic that make me feel awesome. I was always worried about staining white but realized what was the point in buying something you feel great in if you don’t wear it. By the way, I’m 58 and had a life threatening medical issue at 49 and since then I just didn’t care what I wore but know after watching you I got the knowledge to step my game up and the courage and confidence to go for it. Love your vlogs! Being retired I’ve found I purchase more quality items at resale stores. I refuse to buy throw away, cheap fashions which includes Amazon & Walmart. Bought a casual Fleece Cotopaxi hoodie for $6 yesterday. I love hunt as well as the wearing of it.

I wear neutral a lot this winter. It reminds me high tea, sure fire way to feel warm, cozy, and comfort. I bought a toffee corduroy boxy looking puffer and a double face wool blend camel color long coat in relax fit. They go really well with 6 cropped and relax fit sweater vests I bought for layering. I alternate between dark brown suede Santana Canada pac boots, cream color Stan Smith, and Birkenstock Boston clogs in oil tobacco color leather. I also always put on a colorful beanie or beret to liven up neutral. I don’t know if I look expensive but I certainly look more together and polished.

Hi beautiful Erin Everytime I see you in those fur hats I think u can not get anymore beautiful. I can not always buy real expensive clothes now that I don’t work, and I see people say that in the comments. I say most of us have similar choices to what you show.. Of course, I would rather have all of your items. My husband actually took a picture of me yesterday as I going outside to work in the yard and walk. He said I looked good. Whaaaa??? . I must have learned from Erin. I had my Polo boots similar to yours in that I wear them without socks and they are suede and have the comfy fur and what I thought was a work outfit with scarf and coat. Anyhow, it sure made my day. Oh, at this age it is either a loose mock neck or a zip…I have a sensitive neck. I avoided puffers because I am 5” tall but they are a necessity in Seattle. Just found a GREAT one by Bernardo. Cinches in a bit at the waist and hits just above the knee

Thank you for the video. A lot of great advice and a bit that is just not me.
I live in Western Canada. It gets cold here (-40 sometimes) and we get a lot of snow and blowing snow. We don't walk a lot, we drive. For these reasons a long coat is just not practical. It is really hard to seat belt and have mobility for driving while wear a a long or bulky coat. It is also, in my opinion, really hard to drive in 3" heels. Here are a few of the things I found challenging about your list:
I have a Faux Fur coat. It is a 3/4 length and I don't wear it often for the above reasons. It's black.
I have a toque and I usually only wear it for working outdoors when it's really cold ie shoveling snow. It's also black. If it's only moderately cold I don't worry about a hat/toque. Not to mention that my hair does require product and any type of hat would mess that up.
I don't wear matching sets because the sizes between my top and my bottom is about a 3 sizes difference.
I wear black. I wear it in the winter and in the summer. It might not be the neutral you mentioned but it's a neutral. 😁 Black boots, black pants, black top, black sweater/blazer/etc, black puffer jacket, black structured bag - and sometimes I throw in a pop of colour just for good measure.
As for turtlenecks ... a standard turtleneck does nothing for me and I feel strangled and hot. I would love to add a black mock neck or cowl neck to my wardrobe but I just can't find one that works for me in my small town.
Though I agree with much of the sentiment expressed in this video some of it is impractical for my lifestyle or my climate. I really appreciate all your videos and I look forward to the next one.
