I honestly feel like everyone should work customer service at some point in their life so they get to feel how important it is to be nice to your waiter.
Man me and my friends have been going to the same restaurant almost every week for 6 years or so. We know a majority of the staff working there at any given time. They're awesome to us. We get free drinks most of the time, extra shit, amazing service, they even had a wing wednesday deal that got nerfed to hell and they still keep the good deal for our table. The people there are cool and its always great talking to them. We tip super well. Theres almost never a reason to be a huge dick to people and we would not get any of the shit if we were. Rip needs to fucking chill.
I worked in a gas station for 7+ years, and terrible customers can be some of the worst people out there; especially because a lot of them can be regulars at the establishments they're awful in. Personally I get weirded out by overly friendly customers, but that's only because I had regulars that became entitled from favors my coworkers would do for them; so it made me feel like people were being nice or friendly just for the sake of freebies, instead of just because it's the respectful way to interact with people. Especially with older generations, people tend to take the "you're more likely to get extra treatment if you're nice" to mean "you're entitled to extra treatment when you're nice". Prime example was this one 60 something y/o who would hang around a lot and occasionally help the morning crew with simple tasks, like taking out the trash, in exchange for free coffees. First off, our company specifically told us to not let non-employees do work, due to them not being on payroll and that being able to cause issues. Secondly, he'd expect me, who worked from 2pm-10pm to give him free coffee as well. Because he helps out at 6am. Against our company policy. And it'd be fine if me telling him "I'm sorry, but I can't give you coffee for free because of that" was met with "Oh, okay, I understand". But it was always "But they give me it for free in the morning because I help out". That's just baseless entitlement. So yeah, be nice to customer service, but also don't be that guy that feels like you're entitled to extras for just being a good person.
Legit. I don't have the social bandwith to do small talk and stuff most days, but based on my experience on both sides of the interaction, basic please-and-thank-you and some patience when things go wrong already goes a long way.
I work overnights at a gas station and I get free food from people who close at fast food restaurants just cause I act like a decent human being to them, which is kinda sad.
I'm in a salaried position now but i still fondly remember moments where people were truly nice, tipped well and miss seeing my old regulars all the time from my old service job.
Bros my friend and I both watched this video today and then us and some friends go to Denny’s at midnight and we’re all nice to our server. Not even like extremely nice we just weren’t rude and she came over later to tell us she gave us all of our drinks for free. My friend and I both look at each other and say “bro Sajam’s video.” Just not being a jerk really goes a long way fellas
Twice in the same week someone threw a drink out their window _(one milkshake, one soda)_ directly onto my windshield _while driving on the freeway._ In both cases I could not see and was so startled I almost crashed, but just held it together, turned on the wipers and everything was fine. I had been driving for about 3 years at the time; I've been driving for 22 years now, and never before and never since has anyone thrown anything, let alone a full drink, on my car while driving, and it happened twice in a week. When the second drink temporarily blinded me all I could think was "this is my life now", but as it turns out, no, it was just the weirdest coincidence I've ever been involved in.
Between my introvert tendencies and my lack of tolerance towards BS, I could never work in any kind of customer service job. That being said I'm also super empathetic so I agree with Sajam's policy of killing people with kindness and keeping it chill.
5:15 „No problem bro, I got you covered“ Man I had to pause, because I actually laughed my ass off. I thought you threw the rest of the ice coffee at him and therefore „covered“ him in his own fucking drink 😂👌🏼 Then I watched the rest of the vid. What you actually did was the right thing to do. So either way... props to you my man. ✌🏼
public/food/retail service jobs in general are ass and nobody wants to work them but they are usually widely available and necessary for our social machine to run smooth. good shit sajam. i can't stand when people disrespect workers for no reason.
People don't realize how tough it is to work customer service type jobs. A lot of people have no problem taking advantage of the fact that you have to be nice or you jobs on the line. While they can be a huge asshole with no repercussions.
Back at my old retail job I had this guy that was so rude to me that the next customer that came up I gave a huge discount just because it wasn't that first guy
This is so true, as someone who has worked constantly in customer service. If a customer is nice to me, I will go out of my way to give them money, discounts, extra upgrades to orders, etc. But if they're a mean dickhead, I will do the bare minimum.
after working for a 3rd party company for a huge company's tech support (not even the company itself, so i wasn't even an employee of theirs) my faith in humanity, and my sanity, was destroyed. didn't help I had a toxic high school-ish environment around me, but I feel call centers are like that anyway
I only get mad on the road when ppl do stupid/ dangerous shit, sometimes when im in a bad mood i get mad about being cut off tho, but its not too often
I'm an Uber driver, and I can definitely confirm that the nicer you are the better service you'll get. the more you treat me like a slave who's only purpose is to bend to your will the more I'm inclined to take a nice 10 extra minute detour.
on the other hand, if you're nice, I'll offer you the aux, a charger, some gum, take every shortcut I know to get you there faster... it's honestly just nice to get treated like a person, not just a driver.
I was working at a deli and some old guy asked my to slice something that was to small to slice on the meat slicer so I told him no then threw sausage at my face
yep if you worked in shitty customer service you get it and I mean real SHITTY too. Like my example is when I worked at a place called Party supply warehouse. We would lend people normal round wooden tables and plastic chairs for parties. People were the worst because they were planning for stressful events. They bickered, yelled, and even heckled us. AND at the end of the day after those big parties who do you think cleaned the tables. not the people returning them. No one ever said thank you. we loaded trucks with chairs and tables and they were always yelling at us to hurry it up. That's why I do a little extra for people in customer service.
I am always nice to people in customer services. I've been there, so I know how difficult it can be sometimes. Plus, they human beings. Just be cool. I have the worst road rage and yell at everybody. Won't drive aggressively, but you best believe I am saying the most heinous shit
My father taught me that the best way to get a good customer experience is to provide a good service provider experience. I feel like a lot more people need to hear that.
Im rarely a dick to employes but one time i got pissed waiting 10min at a dollar general behind this old man that couldnt figure out how to use his debit card then it had no money he was out side looking for his other one or some shit for almost another 10 or so on my 30m break which all most 20m of was used up.waiting and the cashier tells me she cant ring me up first theres nothing she can do she already has his rang up... I understand it may be a pain in the ass, but after that long i know she coulda canceled his and checked me out.
dood's got empathy right up until the point his op has a wifi connection/game doesn't have rollback. stop fronting, dude, we're in the woke age, nobody is actually as chill as you act on stream. it's just your public persona.
Title should be "Sajam Teaches the FGC Basic Social Skills"
People that treat public service workers bad are the worst.
Yup a lot of the times its the only bit of power they will ever feel in their pathetic little lives.
RIP is a Bitch
@@iorilamia straight. No excuses for being that way. Toddlers can't control their emotions and deserve to be treated like toddlers.
Its easy to be nice.

Like a customer service conscription.
Better yet food service so they learn to wash their damn hands too
Rip can’t conquer the concept of big chillin

Rip and the Big Chillin Attitude is a 0/10 matchup
Sajam getting hit with that 2nd Hand Smoke--and by smoke I mean Rip's attitude towards customer service =p

I appreciate this vid man. Normally I'm calm but I've been a bit on the edge lately, thanks for reminding me of the mindset I had.
"More likely he's a mother fucker" - Fucking died at that

Someone should show Rip the movie Waiting I bet that’ll get him to chill real quick
The way you treat customer service staff is a human litmus test.
From now on, when I see Sajam, Ill just think "Big Chillin"

I've gotten so many free cookies and milkshakes from Wendy's just for not being a shit head. Being nice to service people is so simple
Fax bro, anybody who’s worked in customer service knows being cool to people goes a long way
Everyone should work at least 1 month in customer service, so they would know what it's like
2 years at least.
@@GrownManPat spreading misery doesn't solve anything. It takes some people less than 2 years to find a better life.

I love psychology and seeing inside of people's heads. Figuring out why they are the way that they are.

Big chillin is the way
I feel this so bad, I feel like I can't take my dad anywhere without being embarrassed by how he treats people. it's really not that hard to be decent

You figured that Ryan Hart destroying RIP would temper his ego.

Damn you kinda helped out the first guy's karma too lol 2 birds 1 stone
I feel you Sajam, working in the hospital I got live with myself it makes me feel better.

You are the master of the segue.

This video made me not like Rip LOL
I just nice because I have sat behind my mom while she flamed service workers my whole life. It hurt me. I don't want them to suffer.🥺
That's a tight truck you got there
Watch the last 5 minutes of BOOMcast #9 on Rip's channel. That shit's hilarious!
The waiter say all of that stuff each time, tells you about subscriptions?
Why don't we get Segway's like this anymore
Rip's not good enough at anything to justify being such a jerk to people. In fairness, that's a bar nobody realistically clears, but... Rip sucks.
