Well done King's Guard for stopping these tourists from invading the horse's space. The guards are not there to babysit children. Have some respect for these guards and horses.
Someone should alert the dim, rude, invasive and too ignorant 1. These men are soldiers, serving their country. They deserve respect and deference. 2. ITS NOT A PETTING ZOO!!! I cringe when these noble creatures are obviously distressed by the touches and crowding.

I'm glad he said that, less stress on the horse. These poor horses get treated so bad by these tourists, it should not be allowed to get so close to them.
@@lottiestanley7696 that’s not what I heard. And yes, they do like to be stroked, but not like this. Most don’t even know how to touch a horse. But what I’m really talking about is sticking cameras in their face, coffee cups in their mouth, they also keep touching the horse when the horse is pulling away from them. And too many people at time. You do not corner any animal. That’s just not right to allow.

If I were there I would simply ask the guard, "Sir, may I touch the horse?" and only if I get a verbal yes or a nod would I do so. I'd then respond with "thank you sir." I know that's easy for me to say as a native English speaker, and those who do not speak English fluently or at all may not be able to do that. Having said that, if every single person were to ask permission from the guard, I'm sure it would become annoying and tiring for them...

Grew up around horses, was taught to show the animals respect and kindness. Never touch one without permission. Obviously no one has taught these tourists anything.
Just to ask but what actual "guarding" function does this whole exercise perform ? Is it really just there to amuse tourists ? Are our soldiers trained at some cost merely to provide a backdrop for tourists to take their pathetic pointless photographs in front of? I would scrap the whole exercise and put up a notice advising that guards would no longer be there because of tourists irresponsibility and lack of self control.
This facility is the original entry to Buckingham Palace, it was guarded then, its guarded now and will continue to be guarded until someone decides it is no longer part of the Kings household and then the Household Cavalry will be removed from the duty of guarding it.
People are too close. The constant noise is deafening for these horses no wonder they get cranky and change over so often it must be overwhelming to be petted and approached so close up. It can't be much fun for the soldiers either. Your videos show how totally rude and disrespectful some visitors are and that's from all age groups.
When you watch the tourists, how frantically they approach the horses, sometimes reaching into the horse harness to be able to take a good photo, it's unbearable for me to look at it, I really feel very sorry for the horses, there are masses of people there.
I understand the king stop them from shouting at people to leave the horses and the guards alone. So we must blame the king for all the stress that's been put on them.
I think its time that all above corpral of horse should do 1 week at horse guards. They are so out of touch now. The crowding around the horses is unexetable. This has to stop before something really bad happens.😢😢😢😢😢
Some might if they've properly risen up the ranks, but I know some go to Sandhurst and never do the lower jobs. They need a box on the pavement like goals in football where the public aren't allowed and pictorial signs that even stupid people can see not to touch
I have often been to Horse Guards but the worst behaviour I see is the commenters on these pages... Who are you to be the gatekeepers and say that no one should touch the horses? Are they your horses? Do you know better than the Troopers, the COH or others charged with the welfare of the horses? The Trooper will determine [and does] the amount of contact they will allow, actually the horse does too! [note the nippy ones]
This touching the horse business has only been happening since the advent of social media. There was a time people wouldn't dream of doing that. There are certain bean counters in London who are more interested in tourist revenue than the Guards' or horses' wellbeing. The Troopers' guard duty is made more stressful because of this and so are their mounts. We're just expressing our opinion as British citizens that it would be less stressful for the military on the spot and less confusing for the tourists if a clear boundary was set. If everyone knew that they could get their photos but to keep their hands to themselves it would be a whole lot easier on everyone.
@@Jamie_Wulfyr Rubbish!! People have been touching the horses since day one, it's just you never saw it unless you were there. Plenty of Guards have a smile or nod for a tourist or wait a little longer for a photo even moving closer.
