This man is the reason i didn't off myself. The first therapist, who makes everything 'click' in my head. It gives me hope for myself. Without hope, life isn't worth living
I know this is an old comment and this probably wont mean much to you from a random stranger on the internet but I'm sincerely glad you're still around :)
On the twelfth day of Christmas, Alok said to me, "Curl your toes, ankles, knees, hamstrings, calves, buttocks, fists, and then feel that heat and energy."
Dr K i don't know if you will ever see this but thank you for helping us change our lives. Please do more of this. I am eternally grateful to have found your channel
I cannot thank you enough for using a NORMAL SPEAKING VOICE. I know this is part of a stream and thus wasn't necessarily initially intended to be a TH-cam meditation video, but THANK YOU! Might be the Misophonia, but the "calming", whispery voices people use in almost every relaxation/meditation video legitimately activates my fight or flight. Those sounds cause an extraordinary feeling of irritation. Idk if anyone else feels this way, but this video and Andrew Hubermann's NSDR are all I've found that don't make me even more stressed.
I started laughing and smiling 🤣 I have no idea why, but I just felt the biggest, most genuine smile come across my face. I literally was not able to stop smiling. I wasn’t forcing it at all. It honestly made me feel like, “have I been fake-smiling my whole life?” Because I’ve never felt a smile like that happen so easily.
I find it very hard to empty the mind, but after this (not during) before moving I just looked up at the ceiling and my head felt empty I was just looking at the ceiling It was lovely
Same. When he says “let your mind reawaken” I was like “Bro what? How? Head EMPTY dude. Tell me what to think about!” Reminds me of my partner who was literally groomed for 7 years because they say exactly that when they get overwhelmed sometimes. I’m happy to understand them with this experience! I’m gonna do this again tomorrow and pay more attention to how I get out of that dependence for thought in hopes that I can use that awareness to help my partner get out similarly.
I felt still. Just still, it wasn't like relief or heavenly feeling of peace, neither it was a dull, torturous hollow - just still and normal, clear. This is good, too. I could somehow recall and observe my emotions that I felt some time before the meditation, while not succumbing to them. I was looking at the white ceiling of my room and it was as blank as I felt at this moment. I started "coming back" a little earlier than Dr. K told to, because this is my first time and I wanted to make sense of (or rather, intuitively comprehend) what I was feeling. Though one thing caught me a little off guard - my upper body got hot. Perhaps has something to do with my clothes and my bed being quite warm, I thought at first, but it's normal? I got a little scared at first, but then relaxed properly and it kinda soothed itself? I also forgot to close my eyes. I hope it's not detrimental.
Wow that was... wow, i think i got a glimpse of that "part of you that never changes" that dr k talked about one time. Definetly going to keep doing this

This is quite similar sensation to doing a deadlift. That moment of pulling the weight, and the moment after it, you are just you. Everything else cease to exist, except for you, and your task at hand which is pulling the heaviest load with every fibre of your body. Though for a deadlift these is absolutely no time for contemplation as your heart is pounding out of your chest and you lungs are gasping for air.

Anyone elses heart beat super hard at the end? Once he said "Ask yourself who you are" or whtv I started to have this really intense static feeling in my head around my back and my entire upper back was shuddering a bunch, anyone else feel any weird shit during this?
