I love they set up to organise your patters. It is a very good idea to use some the idea of the fabric you used.

Joy, I love your enthusiasm and great seeing tips! I'm not sure why you feel the need to apologize...your blog, your opinion! Thank you for your candid opinions on all things sewing, please don't let the "backlash" politicize you to a brand. That said, I really enjoyed seeing all the patterns you used from sure fit...it was a good "zoom out" view of your sewing career. Thank you for all you do, I really enjoy watching!
How to sew a knit shirt
Joy, I just want you to know that I love your videos and it makes me want to start sewing clothes. When I watch you I can smile and laugh and just feel happy, happy, happy. You are so far above me in sewing and altering I just don't think I could do those things. But, you make me want to try. I do wish you would do quilting videos as, in reviewing a lot of your videos, I see such beautiful quilts hanging in your sewing room. And, I do mean beautiful!! I’ve sewn off and on over the years, with mixed results. I finally got tired of spending time, effort and money on sewing something that didn’t fit. Went to my library and found Fit For Real People, the Palmer/Pletsch tissue-fitting method. I’ve learned a lot about patterns and what I need to do to get a better fit. I purchased a McCall’s Palmer/Pletsch fitting pattern for the sheath dress. I’ve been using Swedish tracing paper, thank goodness, otherwise the original tissue pattern would be in tatters. It’s been a struggle to get the bodice to fit.....still working on it....
I’ve been seriously considering getting the SureFit Designs system, and after seeing this, I think I’ll have more success with starting with that
I have used the P&P method and Surefit Designs together for years. SFD will get you very close, and P&P will help you perfect any other issues. Best wishes!

Wow just learned how to organize my patterns
Hi Joy! I first learned about sure fit designs from you! I am a beginner to sewing clothes, I have been sewing other things! So I received The works kit as a gift ! I have it a month and haven't tried it , yet ! any suggestions, are much appreciated . I love your videos !!!!
Just remember there is a video for every problem at SFD, and Glenda is very, very helpful. Clear a table somewhere so you can spread out and leave it out. You will do lots of drawing. Be patient. Put the paper pattern up to your body and make sure it covers as much as it needs to. Be prepared to tweak several times. MEASURE CAREFULLY and have fun.

Joy, Shame on you! You kept me up until two in the morning watching your older videos! Well, could have been the snoring bear next to me in bed! I am close to your age and have been sewing since I was 11 years old by machine and before that by hand. I am a very bright and creative person,but I have what I call mathematically based panic attacks lol :) So when I have watched the Sure-Fits designs videos on YT I try to figure out ---if I purchased the system would I ever in the world be able to figure it out without palpitations!? I am being funny, but seriously I admire your sewing and math skills!
Hi Joy...Just wanted to know after watching you video's for the pants kit from Sure Fit Designs if you could please tell me about the blouse you are wearing in the first video. Which pattern is that please. Loved the tutorials, thank you from San Diego.
That blouse was originally a Silhouette Patterns blouse. I removed the collar and made it a V-Neck and designed it with my SFD Dress Kit.
ok will SF help me to make my Patterns fit better or do I hv to use the Patterns they hv?
I LOVE YOU !!! I watch your videos and think...she could have gone on for hours more, WHY does she shop and make plans for lunch ??? Anyway, I sew obviously not as well as you but, I want to get into quilting after watching your videos on Sure Fit Designs and making pants and getting started...can you give me any advice on getting started in quilting. Again, I do sew and have the idea to do a quilt with pictures printed on the squares and then putting them together. How would you get started. I am disabled and funds are very limited, but this quilt is for a country music organization that started 30 years ago and I want to observe that with a quilt. THANK YOU FOR ANY ADVICE !!! did I mention I LOVE YOU ... I even turned to my neighbor and told them..."It's Joy's blog" !!

I would be scared to spend all that money on her books and end up not knowing how to do it. I think you are a very smart lady. I love your videos. I learn so much from them.
+dmermcw7 don't be scared of the sure-fit designs------I love it-------sure it takes time to measure yourself--but the end result is worth it!!!!

I do wear most all of what I make. If not, it goes to Goodwill.
I'm interested in Sure Fit designs but way too expensive right now. Plus no way to watch DVD's anymore. It looks like a great system though.
Why can't you watch DVD's? You can watch over 300 videos free on TH-cam. Just search Surefit Designs or go to surefitdesigns.com and look for the videos.
What diet are you on. TIA
I use Herbalife shakes. Right now, I'm just using the DESM diet: Don't Eat So Much. LOL
Good Grief! I took you to mean it might be too complicated for a beginner! You know there are a couple of really good suggestions, start with lounge type pants, use a long stitch so it is easier to pick out, do nt be a perfectionist . Since our bodies change we are always adapting. I have let perfectionism keep me from enjoying my sewing for many years. Now I just relax, and try to do differently on the next project.
Joy, I purchased a SFD pattern for $10.00 and all I got were 3 sheets, no pattern. I'm very disappointed.😫😫😫
You have to DRAW your pattern according to your measurements. A lot must have been missing from your package. A book and a lot of templates come with it.
