    This system is pure genius... In the beginning I did too much over-thinking, perfectionism, and got very frustrated. After making several muslins, I had to put everything aside. I watched more videos. Checked out more commercial patterns. Then I realized patterns are guess work unless you have a good sloper/body blueprint.... I discovered why some commercial patterns never worked for me. While I am overweight, I learned I am not a plus size in the commercial pattern world. The regular patterns can work just fine as long as I use my sloper to fit them... I will be getting back into Sure Fit Design it in a few days' time. I did originally get a lovely blouse and some nice pants out of it. I am very anxious to get back into it. I understand so much more now than I did then. Nothing fits the neck, shoulders and bust like Sure Fit Designs. The videos are excellent training tools. This system is just incredible. I wish I had gotten into it sooner. It is worth its weight in gold. So much can be done with it.
    Thank you Glenda for your patience, tips and great teaching tools. :)

      You are most welcome. You'd be surprised...at least I hope you will...that once you start working with SFD and do a few simple designs on your own, that you'll see it's easier than you previously thought.

    Hello Glendale my name is Radha. I'm from India. I'm passionate about stitching. I love your teaching. Have you taken any videos about drafting a basic body sloper directly on a chart paper without the help of master block. I would love to learn your basics.

    I might have missed this info but are you designing on the sloper that doesn't have seam allowances and would one add SA's after what you have shown ?

    • @Joy4650B
      @Joy4650B 7 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      LOL. I see this was a year ago, Diana. But, yes, you add the SA's AFTER you finish designing. You don't need them on the facing edge that sticks out though. Just shoulders and sides. I assume the hem was already there. But if not, add one. I'm positive you already know this now. (-;
      Hugs, Joy

    Can you recommend a dress form? I see you have one at your side routinely. The reviews only give the Singer and Dritz models 3 stars or less with the major complaint being that they are flimsy and the screws that hold the posts are plastic and do not hold up. Dritz has the My Body Double Delux that works for fitting pants with an offset post, but if it won't hold up, it wouldn't be worth investing in. Dritz has the Celine model that does not accomodate fitting pants, but does have a base with casters that would allow fitting all the way around the form from a sitting position. Which characteristics are the most important? Are there other models that are better options? Thanks in advance for your input.

    • @surefitdesigns
      @surefitdesigns  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Personally, unless you can get a dress form that is exactly the same shape as you are, they really aren't that effective for fitting your patterns. You are your best model/form. The only reason I use them is in videos to hold the clothes. I get the form as close to my body shape as possible, but none that I use are perfect. Some are way more expensive than others. The one that is the closest to my shape is the Wolf form - the one I use to display pants as well as tops. They are quite expensive.

      I think this is a problem on your end. I've just clicked on the video and it definitely has sound. Make sure your audio or volume is turned on.

    adding extra ease also makes the armholes bigger too ?

    • @surefitdesigns
      @surefitdesigns  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yes, it will. The sleeve needs to get a little wider too to accommodate and fit properly into the wider armhole.
