    Okay, it honestly takes a lot to scare or disturb me in movies or video games these days, but holy fuck.....this just took the cake. Basically, Asimov took Mytyl's brain out, stuck it in a giant machine, and turned her into a living computer to carry out his sadistic desires. You can even see how big and bloated it's gotten over God knows how many years she's been like that. To say that's inhuman is a MAJOR understatement. The *P L E A S E . . . K I L L M E* part in particular literally gave me goosebumps upon first seeing it. That's some Joker-level shit right there. It almost reminds me of that one scene in The Exorcist where the words "HELP ME" were being written in scar tissue across Regan's stomach...

      The Asimov I knew and love was gone; what was left was an alien of pure electricity with a sadism that was very abnormal, even for sadist standards and is giving in to ever primal desire of hatred without any restraint.
      Just look at Isaac Westcott from Date A Live, one of the darkest light novel villains as just like Asimov in iX, he too had a form of abnormal sadism.

      That is exactly the point.
      This was to show the ultimate evil of Asimov. Without Gunvolt to stop him and to change his heart, he continued his path.
      But then his obsession with Dr. Kamizono along with the newfound power with Sumeragi allowed him to give in to those primal sadistic urges born from hatred. But even then, this sadism was too abnormal.
      But as he gave in to them, his Septima was affected, making him be overtaken by Dragon Radiation, changing his shape into a being of pure electricity, while also looking like a space alien from another franchise.
      It is this newfound abnormal sadism that he did horrifying things, while admitting them.
      And think about it, he now sees people and Adepts as tools for his personal gain; he uses chess metaphors like “King” and “Queen” for example. So with this newfound cruelty, he surgically removed Mytyl’s brain as those organs are the control centers of the human body and forced it into a machine to allow him to mind control Adepts with his ideology of how “all humans are ugly beasts”.
      It was meant to be this dark, because the human body of Mytyl is now gone, and it’s now probably a husk of bones and dead skin cells.
      This was an ultimate evil not meant to hate Asimov, but also be horrified that he has become something not even the original him would do. And I feel all the more sad, because he could have been a hero, but he chose to be a villain.
      And not even Nova or Zonda would like this.
      And before anyone compares this to Shou Tucker and his failed chimera experiment of “Ninalexander”m then I will fight you on the side of the street. Because his incompetence and his useless excuse of an experiment has nothing for Asimov now as the villain, Demerzel.
      And if you ask me, the term “monstrous” is not enough to describe how abnormally evil Asimov had become.
      Because at least in GV2, she lived a happy life after the Eden Incident.

      One subtle detail I really like that my friend pointed out to me is that RoRo's eyes are blue in this timeline because her Muse power was taken by Copen from Gunvolt's corpse (who has blue eyes), when they are purple in the mainline because she got the Muse from the mirror shard containing Joule (who has purple eyes).
      So given that he canonically took a Septima out of Gunvolt's corpse I think it is likely that he also either reverse engineered or modified Gunvolt's arsenal.

  • @nnickplays9713
    @nnickplays9713 4 ปีที่แล้ว +88

    Spoilers and thoughts ahead.
    It was never about protecting Adapts. It was always about power.
    Asimov was either lying to himself or to those around him about freedom for his kind. In the end the moment he got power he threw off his mask and became infinitely worse than those he wrestled power from. The fact that he was willing to kill GV and Joule, essentially his apprentice and the keystone girl to his plan so quick and nonchalantly showed what he really was in the dark.
    Asimov was a bad person longing for power willing to manipulate and destroy anything in his path until he got it.
    If most of the Falcons didn't show life under sumeragi was bad already Mytyl is the ultimate proof. Asimov did this to the so-called adapts he wanted to protect. He did terrible things to a bedridden innocent girl to create a system that controls adapts and bends them to his will.
    This is the problem with the revolutionaries, most of them fight against something evil but really just want that power for themselves to inflict it on those they don't like. But it never stops there, once they get the power to get rid of those they don't like they turn it on everyone else.
    What we've seen from life under sumeragi, it's a vicious police state where if you have any capability you are forcibly drafted, and the people are controlled if not by the butterfly effect then by threats of punishment/death by the sumeragi government. If you're inside the walls you have no freedom and if you're outside the walls you're hunted and killed. I don't believe for a second Asimov would spare an adapt that wasn't under his control outside the walls.
    In the end it was always about power.
    To paraphrase George Orwell "We know what no one ever seizes power with the intention of relinquishing it. Power is not a means; it is an end. One does not establish a dictatorship in order to safeguard a revolution; one makes the revolution in order to establish the dictatorship..."
    And Asimov could not be a more shining example of this if he tried.
    There are revolutionaries who do actually believe in the cause and are willing to back down from ultimate power to establish actual freedom (like GV or the US's founding fathers, George Washington especially who had a chance to take over and personally turned it down) but those are much rarer and a single bullet is all that's needed to remove them (As GV1 again so clearly proves, a single locket it prevents a horrific bad timeline)
    It's just hard to tell the difference before they get power. For us viewers we only realized this when he put a bullet in our chest in gv1, we were a useful idiot securing a dictator his power and then disposed of like how all useful idiots are eventually.
    Maybe the only way to actually tell beforehand is by the culture the Revolutionary creates and curates. (If I had to wager I would think Asimov's Quill was more focused on Revenge against sumeragi than actually freeing the people from sumeragi, but that's me reaching. That way when he got power and it switched to kill all humans mode most of quill would be in agreement. Those who disagree like Monica probably would would just be purged)

    • @yassinefarah2423
      @yassinefarah2423 4 ปีที่แล้ว +32

      Apparently Copen mentions in this timeline that QUILL has become a terrorist organisation and we see their influence in Sumeragi.
      And despite Asimov's ideals about Adepts, Mytyl, Dystnine and especially Blade are contradictions to his statement that proves adepts aren't safe among adepts.
      Strange how Asimov was the villain that made Nova seem like the hero.

    • @MailmanSSB
      @MailmanSSB 4 ปีที่แล้ว +24

      To add on, Asimov’s plan to destroy Sumeragi was without a doubt a plot for revenge. Asimov was one of the only survivors of the Gunvolt project, along with Gunvolt himself, but he without a doubt suffered a great deal of physical and emotional pain that probably twisted him into the person we see in the Gunvolt games.
      Also, Nova was honestly in the right for a lot of things. Sure, he was controlling adepts by using The Muse just like how Asimov does in iX, but unlike Asimov, most of his power came from manipulation, not punishment.
      He saw the future of Adepts and humans constantly fighting and made an effort to establish peace without a constant sense of fear. There’s an audio drama track that reveals that Nova was actually also part of the Gunvolt project, and of course, he is an adept himself. It goes to show that he was trying the best he could to preserve peace, even if it meant controlling people like him and putting them in the same suffering that he endured.

      @@yassinefarah2423 I won't lie, I'm a HUGE fan of Asimov's design and character as a villain. Would have been nice if they paid more of a tribute or recognition to Nova in LA. In GV2's timeline they just made it seem more less like a nuisance that he died.
      Going off topic, I did like how he told Gunvolt "Good Luck" before he died in that "true" ending. Gets me every time, especially because I loved his stoic personality during the in game conversations.
