The theme is incredible and gets even better once you catch on to the subtle leitmotifs that this track is full of. (Leitmotif is extremely prevalent in Gunvolt's music)
At 0:32 you can hear Copen's intro stage theme in the background and at 0:50 you can hear "Committed to Annihilation" Copen's battle theme from GV1 and GV2 aswell.

I really do love comments like these, I didn't notice the reference until I started playing the songs in seperate tabs to catch it. I do hope you play iX2. I'd love to read/hear your opinion on some of the songs in that game.

@@KevinSkye1 My overall opinion of iX2's soundtrack is that it's extremely good, some of the best that the series has to offer. And it hits differently compared to the others.
The philosophy of Gunvolt's composers is to create music to accentuate characters. This is readily apparent throughout the series. GV obviously has his ironic leitmotif that he carries throughout series, which is incorporated into quite a few tracks. Merak's theme in GV1 is meant to convey how withdrawn and uncaring Merak is. Copen's battle theme from GV1-2 radiates anger and determination. Gibril's gives off pure aggression. Isola's theme is high energy and upbeat. Etc.
You notice this going into iX2 as well, but there seems to be equal focus on the stages themselves. You are dealing with much more varied set pieces such as jungles and space, and feel of the music shifts accordingly. And with the main boss line up being robots instead of adepts, you get an overall grungier sound. It's great stuff.
The Vocal Tracks are amazing as usual, but that goes without saying. Gunvolt's vocal tracks are best implementation of music I've seen in a video game. As they serve as not only a reward for playing well, but a motivator to *keep* playing well. The second the vocals kick in, it's an instant dopamine hit. Which is exactly how the muse works in lore, effecting the mental state of an individual to give them determination. It's extremely meta.
