They keep on droping lenses... ME : Full frame lenses !!!!!!! Sony give some love to APS-C lover please... Des objectifs plien format... Rien pour les gens qui aiment l'APS-C... C'est triste...
Every time I watch your videos i get the itch to go out and just Photo things, anything! but for now I work in IT and dont have the time during the week, have to store all that frustration up for the weekends!
Yooo! Don't forget about the Clear Image Zoom feature on the Sony cam that will allow you to crop in about an extra 10mm in any case you want the effect of a 24mm. This gives you extra versatility with this lens! Good stuff Pierre and Manny!
Always enjoy and learn from your videos! No matter how many project you’re working on, your quality and commitment to vids remain strong! Much appreciate!!
Why? I never understood what should be so great about B/W in the age of digital photography. Good colour editing and composition seems way more challenging in my opinion.
Would love to see you do a direct FOV comparison of this 14 1.8 vs 20 1.8. Seems like image quality is actually pretty similar but I'm sure the 14mm is a lot wider. Photos looked great!
what im waiting for is really an A7c with 4K 10 bit :D That would be a killer combo. I have the current A7c now, but I use my S5 (not TOO much bigger) more due to the 4K 10 bit..
Looking to get into real estate photography to make a little extra income on the side. Already having the 20mm 1.8, I’m struggling with strategizing what lenses to get on the ultra wide angle side of things. The 20mm is the widest I own, unsure if I should go with this 14mm or to get a zoom lens to cover more bases I.e 12-24 F4 or 16-35 f4 OSS. This new drop complicates things!
I have sony A7 III and I do Professional Portrait Photography. I want to is it a good choice for hand held vlogging also? I already have sony 85mm f/1.8 and Tamron 28-75mm f/2.8.
Hi Pierre, never been this early. 1) I’m new to your channel and I like your content, your POV style street photography is dope. 2) your intro is simple but awesome in a way, you can change it with locations, something new I saw on yt. Just wanted to let you know. Regards

Hello , this one is better than 24mm 1.4? I don’t know which one I have to buy ! Bonjour, celui là est mieux que le 24mm 1.4? Je ne sais pas lequel choisir …
Awesome video 👍🏼 quick question, I have a Sony a7r2, would this newer lens be worth buying for it? I’m debating whether I should go with this one or a Sony g lens 20mm 1.8. Thanks guys keep up the good work.
I just got into the Sony family 4/72021 with the a7siii. I want 12mp for live music photography and videography. I was thinking I wanted the 12-24 f/2.8 then this f/1.8 lens dropped. Truthfully many times it dark bars/nightclubs, festival’s and campfire pickin I need as much light as I can get . I document and in this environment you never know about your lighting and most of the time a flash is a no no . So I’m thinking a Sony fe 14mm f/1.8 G Master to go with my G Master 24 and 35mm f/1.4s . For some reason I just love fast primes . So now I’m going to learn to love cleaning my a7siii’s sensor . I mainly got the camera for video but already I’m having fun shooting stills with it . Most of my clients of their stills only need them for social media and small flyers. Very few make posters and this 12mp sensor will be fine for most of them also . I’ve been in a few magazines and never really needed the 46mps of my Nikon d850 . The 4K 10bit 4:2:2 video is fine too for our television show. 14mm is great for live music photography
you briefly compared it to the 12-24 F2.8, but what about the 12-24mm f4?? That lens (on the wide end) would give you 12mm vs 14mm, is only $173 more, would also give you zoom out to 24mm (nice to have, yes?), and the 12-24 f4 is only 20% larger & heavier. I know, I know, the f1.8 is fantastic, and that alone might be enough reason to get this new 14mm prime.

I bought the sigma 14 1.8, i loved it so much but i had to send it back, it was way too big, heavy and the autofocus for video stuttered ... but i loved the focal length, the sharpness and the speed and since i had it i hoped something similar comes out .... thank so much sony for reading my mind ... again
Hey Pierre! I was watching a bunch of videos and stumbled across someone saying something about the fact that if you have a crop sensor camera, you need to multiple your aperture by the same factor to get the “true aperture”. What are you r thoughts on that?
Nice Urban Shots Loved The Lens Well I Am A Poor Guy For Now I Only Have The Original A7 And A Normal 50 MM 1.8 Wish I Could Get My Hands On This Lens Hopefully In The Future When Am Gonna Have Enough Money Loved The Vibe oF Lens...
Hi Pierre new to your channel! Wow Sony seems to be doing great stuff with there lens. I'm a beginner and my brother in law tells me to buy a mirrorless Canon Camera though I'm not sure. What would you recommend for a beginner who wants to shoot mainly landscape but also street? Keep up the good work 🙂
You have to take in to account lens selection. E mount and RF mount have a wealth of options for telephoto (landscape images), however E mount has a much deeper well of options at the wider end for your street photos at both the cheap and expensive end of the spectrum.
For me a 14mm Lens, the use of it would be much less than 1% of all my photography, so to me it is a no go for now, maybe I will change in the future. I never understood why people care so much about the corner sharpness. How many times have you shot a subject framed in the corner of the photo? On this sort of lense distortion would be my biggest concern all the way to the bank.

I MEAN WE GOTTA GET MANY SHOTS WITH FUE :D
you mentioned shooting in f1.8 and after in f8 and merge the photos together. I would be really interested in a video about this method!
yesss i thought the same!!
get a tripod, set your shot, put the trigger on a timer so it stabilizes, make shot on both stops merge in photoshop or lightroom = gg
Sony is on fire with these lenses! ...also love seeing my favorite photographers collaborate. 🙌🏽

I gotta say, these new small lenses by Sony are making the A7C seem pretty nice right now. Really going for the compact kit.
Yeah it’s exciting!

14mm GM or 14-24?
i tried this lens for astro however the 1.8 is not really usable had to stop down to 2.8.....also considering the price I prefer 18 batis over this
Does it take Filters ?? >> thought not For Milky way I will stay with my Nikon 20 mm f1.8 on the Z7
I’m a newbie but I wanted to get some sort of stabilizer to record short films I’m on a budget of $300 any recomendations? thank you
